The rooms felt spacious and were spotlessly clean. Staff were incredible: professional, warm, and they went out of their way to accommodate our complicated trip plans. The pool area is inviting and comfortable. The rooftop terrace offers a great view of Cape Town's harbor and hills. The assortment of foods for breakfast is fabulous. Convenient location to nearby restaurants, a short ride to Table Mountain, and it's within walking distance of the famed V&A (Victoria and Albert) Waterfront.

Really nothing we disliked. Construction was going on next door (December 2023), so it was noisy during work hours at the outdoor seating areas.

We adore Zest Boutique and the lovely staff there. It was our second time staying, and although we didn't recognise any of the staff from 17 months ago (we'd grown very fond of those who had looked after us back then), we were wonderfully well looked after by a fantastically attentive and very friendly team. Their "good morning"s and "welcome back"s were a lovely way to start and end our long days in Cape Town - it's a beautiful hotel and the staff make it feel like home. Last time, we stayed in the 'pool room' Xanadu, and we loved it so much that when we realised it was in the same bracket/tier as the room we'd booked this time, we asked if we could switch. Quite a big ask, and a cheeky one too, but they rushed into action to make it happen for us, and did so smiling. The customer service and friendly smiles really make this already great hotel shine even brighter.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was exceptional. Nat and Faye were especially kind and helpful. No request was too big. My flight was cancelled and they booked me a room in their sister property last minute. The location is great and everything is a ten minute Uber ride away. There was a lot of security and I felt safe as a solo female traveler.

My room was below the breakfast area so I could hear chairs moving above me starting early, 7 am. Also the kitchen was right next to my room so I heard dishes clattering. It would be helpful to have some soundproofing for this particular room.

Excellent stay, I was suspicious when none of the reviews had anything to criticise but the location was good, staff very friendly and the accommodation spacious and clean. The shower in the king bedroom is not separate from the actual bedroom (not a separated bathroom) so just something to note for privacy if you’re not sharing as a couple.

Note that there are 3-4 parking spots just outside the entrance, if those are full you would have to park on the side of the road- but the area felt quite safe and there are cameras outside.

It's a lovely modern boutique hotel that is 10 minutes walk from the Waterfront. The check in staff are lovely and friendly.

When I checked in I asked if I could have gluten free toast with my breakfast. I was told that they could get gf bread in but indicated that they often bought it and their guests didn't actually eat it. I assured the lady that I would eat it. The next morning I asked for it at breakfast and was told that they only had rye bread. Rye is a gluten so I wasn't able to eat it and no gluten free bread was ever obtained. While everything looks lovely and clean, the bedroom floor was actually quite dirty and out feet were always quite dirty walking around it. While I know that load shedding isn't the hotel's fault it would be really helpful to be told what the scheduled power outage periods are to be able to plan things like blow drying hair and charging phones.

What isn’t there to like about this wonderful boutique hotel? It really is a delightful place to stay and I would highly recommend it. Rooms are so comfortable and all individually designed. Outside space and pool so relaxing. Small lounge area is a delight to spend time in. The staff are so attentive but never intrusive and very helpful and polite. Breakfast is really tasty, lots of fresh food and hot or cold drinks.

There is nothing at all to dislike here.

It is a wonderful, small boutique hotel within walking distance from the waterfront. The staff is so incredibly lovely, and they are definitely going the extra mile to make you feel welcome and meet everyone's needs. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic; the pancakes are stunning. The hotel runs many programs/trips, so it's really easy to organise things if you are a first-time tourist in South Africa and not quite sure where to start. I also love the fact that your stay supports a local charity directly.

None.

We liked everything. The breakfast was amazing, the service was spectacular (special shout out to Chane, Faye and Camille), the rooms are great and we loved the personal touches. We can’t wait to return next time we are in Cape Town.

There are only 4 car parks and that was fine for 8 out of 9 nights we stayed but when the rugby was on we had to park over the road. But it’s a pretty safe area.

Wonderful quality and presentation of breakfast food. Lovely afternoon cake and tea (complimentary). Evening drinks at very decent pricing. Rooms have excellent mattresses and linens. Staff were incredibly helpful! They felt like dear family.

Cape Town has rolling blackouts. Made it very difficult to dress in the morning, or read in the evening or be able to use a sleep apnea machine. Of course this isn’t the hotels fault. It’s part of life in South Africa.

Staff was exeptionally friendly and helpful! The Hotel has everything you need and also a garden with pool and a rooftop with amazing view. Brilliant location on a quiet back street, yet close to local restaurants as well as to V & A Waterfront. A big thank you to front staff Chan’e, Natale, Luca and Faye, to house keepers, cook and night guys as well as driver Peter and guide Ismael. We left with just good memories!
