The Tree House Boutique Hotel by The Living Journey Collection

We had the secret garden suite booked, the room was very clean, great layout and had a gorgeous private outdoor seating area. The toiletries very nice, I wish I had bought the shower gel! Staff were super friendly and amazing. There is parking available at the property which is great. Breakfast was not bad, a nicer offering of breads (and a toaster) would be good. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely book again.

The only reason I gave it 9/10 and not 10/10 - the shower leaked into the room which wasn’t great. However, this was fixed pretty fast and was no issues for the rest of the stay.

Great location and hotel's design! It was a very comfortable stay for us. The staff were always willing to help. Breakfast was very delicious, besides the buffet, the hot dishes were served. The terrace is very cozy for having a drink in the evening. The Waterfront is just 15 mins walking from the hotel.

We were surprised by a load shedding when we came back in the evening. However, there is a lamp in the room that works without electricity, charging the devices was also possible with this lamp. Maybe it would be nice to notify the guests about the approximate periods of electricity shutdown.

This is the 8th year we visit the V&A area to run the CT marathon. This was the best accommodation. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, particularly Shenaaz. We frequent many hotels annually and this was by far the best breakfast I've ever had.

I would recommend the addition of a small bar fridge, and possibly a small microwave and a Nespresso. If y like the anonymity if a big hotel this is not for you. If however you like personal attention and staff that caters to your needs this establishment is highly recommended. The personal attention of the staff, especially Shenaaz, is outstanding.

If you are going to stay in Cape Town, I seriously cannot recommend The Tree House Boutique Hotel highly enough! From the moment you walk in to well after check out, the welcome and service you will recieve from Shenaaz and her team are second to none and are everything you could wish for. The space is modern and extremely well thought out and if you have a flight later in the day, there is free luggage storage and even a shower that you are able to use, well past check out! Thank you Shenaaz and all your wonderful staff, you absolutely made our last 36 hours in Cape Town and if we are ever lucky enough to return, we will surely book again!

The building itself is overall well maintained, and the main breakfast/living area is beautiful. Lovely setting for breakfast overlooking the pool, comfortable sofas, and outdoor seating area, too. The rooms were exceptionally clean with good facilities. The staff were excellent. They were very helpful, informative, and friendly. There was nothing that they wouldn't do to help us. We went to the hotel at the end part of our South African trip, which was our honeymoon. The hotel and staff helped us to celebrate with flowers and sparkling wine, as well as rose petals and swans on the bed. The breakfast was outstanding. A great selection on offer for the continental and the cooked breakfasts were exceptional. The cake of the day is a special treat and nice to enjoy. Not far from the waterfront if you use an Uber - 5 minutes tops.

We stayed in the Herb Garden Suite, which was comfortable but was overlooked by the street and a tall neighbouring hotel. I would suggest covering the back garden with taller, thicker trees to create more privacy. The windows into the bathroom were only partially frosted, which meant the overlooking buildings could see into the bathroom. There is a gate that opens to the street from the back entrance to this room, and I would suggest changing the gate or filling it in to make a complete wall.

The room was beautiful and very clean, the balcony allowed for some fresh air and had a small table and chairs outside to enjoy the breeze. The robes were extremely comfortable and the shower head made sure we had a lovely time keeping clean. The shower gels/shampoos provided were also a treat and left us feeling refreshed and soft. We were also able to watch some sports channels on the TV before bed. The cupboard space was ample and the safe was easy to use. Those were all positive points but our highlights: The selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolates were absolutely amazing in the rooms but even more extensive ranges were offered for breakfast or anytime around the super comfortable lounging area. The fruit was fresh and tasted amazing, the fruit juices were delicious and the wide range of breakfast options made our foodie hearts skip a beat. The staff was especially knowledgeable of all the different teas, how they were made and what makes them unique. The continental breakfast had a lovely selection and we took a bit of everything and were amazed by the consistent high quality. The cooked breakfast was just as fantastic with one of my favourite eggs benedicts I have ever eaten. The eggs always came out perfect to the order which is very rare even at well known breakfast restaurant. They also have a lovely spoil, their 3pm cake of the day... and every cake was, again with the theme, absolutely delicious. One of the days there was the best carrot cake we had ever tasted. And on top of all of this was the amazing staff, they made the whole stay feel very personal and homely but as if we were doted on. They were very quick with any requests we had and laundry was done on the same day. We were sad to leave! On the day we left, the hotel gifted us with matching locally made bracelets which really nicely wrapped up our amazing experience. We will be back every time we are back in Cape Town!

No Netflix was our only major downside. We tried to use the smart TVs browser to login with our own account but the smart TVs browser could not handle Netflix streaming and there was no Netflix app we could use. The parking was ample but some of it was on the side of the road (Its in a cul-de-sac so no through traffic) which was okay but the road is also very narrow as is and even more narrow when cars are parked on it. This made it very difficult for us when the car rental company ran out of small cars and could only give us a large Double Cab 4x4. I ended up having to reverse out of the very long road because there was simply not enough space to turn for a large vehicle. We noted small hatch backs had no problem though and it also wasnt a bit problem when using services like Uber

the best part of the property is the amazing staff! John Peter, Elton and everyone else I encountered including their mentees were kind, helpful, and all about making my stay wonderful. They booked my tour of the peninsula, arranged for dinner reservations, and helped answer any question that I had, often offering information before I could think to ask. they anticipated every possible need. the spa was wonderful too. it was a little too cool to go in the pool but sitting out in the sun on the back porch was always pleasant or sitting out on my rooms patio and having a pretty stellar view of Cape Town was awesome. breakfast was included and was always delicious with a selection of fruit, pastries, cereal, but also a hot menu to order custom. as a solo female traveler, I felt at home and cared for in the best ways possible.

the only thing I didn’t like was the bed. it was rather hard after a few days. I would have liked a more plush mattress especially since I was staying there for a full week.

We had the most wonderful stay at the tree house hotel. We only stayed 1 night for my birthday, but wished we could have stayed for far longer. The breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfy, and the pool area was a lovely place to relax. The staff were all absolutely amazing, super friendly and helpful and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We booked a couples massage through the hotel and when we returned to our room we found a bottle of bubbly waiting for us with a note wishing me a happy birthday from the staff. It's the lovely little touches like this that make a hotel stand out from the rest. I hope we can return to this gem soon.

The staff were so accommodating! I felt very safe as a solo traveller. The driver Peter was lovely and tooo me everywhere I needed to go. He even collected me earlier than booked when I finished hiking. And he drove me an hour to my next hotel. The room was beautiful and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. The robes in the room were so soft. And I loved the turn down service when they placed sweets on the pillow. The receptionist Reyln was so friendly and booked an amazing restaurant at the waterfront for me. I can’t recommended this hotel enough. Absolutely perfect.

the staff are attentive and professional and will go out of their way to help make your stay enjoyable. the rooms are very comfortable with big beds and the hotel itself is a lovely cosy and relaxing setting to spend your time in Cape Town. I would highly recommend staying at the tree house boutique hotel.

a few other hotels have a generator as a backup when load shedding is happening but this one doesn’t. it isn’t a big deal as usually the shedding happens at night but just a consideration as there is a bell outside which doesn’t work when the power is off.
