Newkings Boutique Hotel

This hotel is definitely a hidden gym in the Sea Point area of Cape Town. We arrived into town earlier than expected and the hotel staff couldn't have been more excited for our arrival. Jamiel particularly made our stay an enjoyable and memorable experience with his knowledge of the local area, hotel information, and warm and hospitable greeting he surely was the icing on the cake to a great weekend! I highly recommend getting a corner table at Zest for great views of the ocean as well as a Juliette balcony room facing the mountain. Both will surely not disappoint! If you're looking for food, there are plenty of places just steps outside of the hotel with every genre imaginable!

I Very comfortable and exactly what i expected

I was very disappointed with the check-out when a gentle man called us back from the street like criminals to say we need to come back for him to check if we have not taken anything from the room or left with an un-sellted bill! off course none of this was the case but if we had a bill to settle, its the hotel's responsibility to ensure that this is done the night before or atleast the bill is posted in the room? because they load the key in the phone and we didn't have anything to settle, we thought we could just leave because we had nothing to settle. I am a Tour Operator with over 20 years of travel experience and found the way this gentleman handled things very inappropriate considering how great everyone else was! the worst part is that he was not even wearing a uniform.

Lift was inadequate; too small (supposed to admit only 3 people because of Covid-19, necessitating long waits when it was "full"). Breakfast (in-house menu) was very disappointing; too limited. We remembered a well-stocked buffet breakfast provided during our last stay there, some 3 or 4 years ago.

A great restaurant just by the hotel lobby. In the same building, ground floor 2 great supermarkets, coffee shops and a wellness juice bar. At basement you can find a service to mend your clothes. The street where the hotel is located has a plethora of restaurants, including one vegetarian/vegan, lovely shops, a small mall all at walking distance. Ubers get there easily and the street although busy isn't noisy.

I think that depending on the team cleaning the room the tidiness was not consistent to my standards.

Customer service was excellent. The staff members were very friendly. Security personnel was helpful. The room was kept clean at all times.

During our stay we realised there were roaches creeping around the room. It wasn’t a good site. I recommend pest control to be provided.

Staff were incredibly friendly and professional. Room was clean and well laid out. All amenities I needed were provided. I thought the issues created by load shedding were well managed by the staff under the circumstances. The convenience of having retail shops and restaurants so close to the hotel is a significant added bonus.

My issues were largely outside of the immediate control of the hotel to be fair. Load shedding meant generators had to run, which were very noisy. During load shedding air conditioners could not run which was not great - but, as I say, this is a function of load shedding and was certainly not anything the staff of the hotel could've done anything else about.

Everything! Location was perfect, walking distance to beach and restaurant. Shops, restaurants and spas located in the building, security 24/7, safe parking, comfortable bed and cleaning service everyday, wonderful amenities, the room had a fridge and a microwave and kettle which was so useful, they even do turn down service. Staff were super friendly. Loved it, this was my second time staying here and I will definitely return!

It would have been nice if breakfast was included like in the past, however there’s so many nice spots for breakfast in the area that you almost want to try them all… and the kitchen appliances and cutlery in the room helped. Also there was one lift in the whole building which required a bit of waiting time during a peak period but the stairs are also a good option. Overall absolutely nothing to complain about.

Room had a patio where we could enjoy the view and take in some fresh air Bed and bedding - comfy Access to shopping centre and amenities was a plus Friendly staff and especially at reception (super efficient trainee who helped us check in and out smoothly) The room had great finishes re: decor and look and feel. SAFTEY and accessibility after hours - there is a guard at the entrance of the base at the complex who helped us find our way when re-entering the premises after hours Great view of Lion's Head from our room!

Our room had a patio but we seemed to have been sharing an ashtray with the room next door Our room was very close to/behind the staff kitchen/room and the mornings were disrupted by the noise from the staff in the rooms adjacent Rooms are close to one another, so when room service knocks next door, it is quite loud There are two elevators but only of them seemed to provide entrance to our suites - using the 1st (alternative) elevator took you somewhere where your access card just did not work, meaning you had to go all the way back down and then use the 2nd elevator which goes past hotel reception Two-pin plugs could have been better situated in the room, i.e. closer to the bed No champagne/bubbly glasses (even if plastic)

Nice rooms, highly recommended! I was pleasantly surprised, the accommodation was great. I cannot give a feedback on the breakfast, because I did not eat in the morning. Perfect choice, everything was clean, with good public access to the city center. Incredible views! Very spacious rooms and very attentive staff. The hotel is located near several supermarkets in this area as well as restaurants. Good value hotel and very friendly staff. Halaal Breakfast/menu. Excellent wifi connection. Especially my helpers for 501 they were the absolute BEST !

There is nothing to complain about!

I enjoyed the fantastic location and accessibility to a variety of services in the area, including a Catholic Parish (I love to attend services while travelling). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Requests were managed quickly and effectively. It's also on the same premises as a spa, fit club, supermarkets and a great restaurant. The hotel is quite silent and cozy.

The tidying was not outstanding, I think the bathroom could be more pristine. I also like to enter a space with a welcoming, soothing aroma at the end of the day. I would rate it as a 7/10.
