BEAT. Capsule Hostel @ Boat Quay

Great location for exploring Singapore. Beds are comfortable and private. Loads of room in the under bed lockers. Air con means the room is always cool. Small kitchen area and fridge to store food. Bathrooms clean. Lots of plug sockets in the capsules.

No sanitary bins in the toilets. Also no breakfast anymore even though this is advertised in the pictures and one of the reasons we booked this place. Kitchen lacks equipment (we had to eat cereal in mugs as there are no bowls).

Location was superb! It has a view of the Marina Bay (partial). Bed was comfy. I stayed in the ladies' room and it was clean - even the bathroom. Clothes Iron, microwave, instant coffee, hot and cold water, hair dryer were all available so it made my trip all the more convenient and comfortable.

Response in email, phone (I tried calling them but the number listed here isn't available so I called their sports capsule branch), social media, or here on booking.com could be more prompt. I was on a plane to Singapore with several other guests in the same hostel and they didn't receive an email for late check-in as I did so I just shared the instructions with them. If I didn't send countless messages, they may not have sent the instructions to me too.

Room was lovely and clean. Common area and bathroom was also very clean. While the street below is busy, you can't hear any of it from inside the rooms. Felt very safe and secure. Blind on the bed made it feel very private which was nice. Free tea and coffee was a nice touch. Good location, just a few minutes walk from Raffles MRT.

My towel was taken from my room and left soaking wet in the laundry basket. I didn't ask for it to be washed and had to go find it late at night. The desk is not 24 hours so any issues at night cannot be resolved. The understorage locker for bags wasn't working one night so I had to spend the night without anything I had locked away. Kitchen facilities are very basic, no oven or hob.

the hostel has a very good location just at the Boat Quay, not far from the Marina. The check-in is very smooth, as after filling out the form and sending out passports to an email address, your key and instructions will be ready after the check-in time either a reception or in a small box on the wall. The hostel is clean and the beds are quite comfy.

The staircase is a bit smelly, and the showers are a bit small, but that is only my personal feeling. Would be nice if there was someone at the reception 24/7 as there might be some issues with other hosts, as in our case one guy was shouting while calling to someone in the room, which we could have not complained to anyone at that time. The rooms can host up to 24+ people.

Location is superb.. Lot of bars and Resturant serving from breakfast to dinner and late night drinks are just in the vicinity of the hostel. Metro station is walkable. Marina Bay Area, which is the best tourist place is walkable like 5 mins from the hostel. There is 1 24 hours McDonalds just 100 steps from the hostel. Hostel is lake facing, which is very amazing.

people were checkin through out the night and it creates lot of sound. and it happened all 4 nights.

Location is great. I know it says capsule hotel, but it really just feels like a hostel. The bed was really comfortable. The receptionist was really kind.

The door of our luggage locker didn't work. The bathroom was 7/10 clean. It's really a matter of luck if you the people in the room can keeo quiet or not. We had 2 people talking normal volume at 3 am, we Shushed them.

After years of hostel travel, I really appreciate the capsule hostels that get it right: private bunk with a plug/USB charger, a light, and a lockable locker. The bed frames were sturdy and well-designed and do you don't hear people climbing in and out all around you. the location was fantastic. I liked staying in an old shop house.

I wish the overhead room light could be dimmed or turned off at night; at the same time, the dark corner where my bed was was always too dim for me to read things, so, badly planned lighting. The kitchen had a fridge and microwave but not a stove or kettle (hot and cold water dispenser.

Location couldn’t be better. Right on the Boat Quay but even on weekends when it’s busy, you can’t notice the noise inside. Price is great for Singapore (although expensive for the rest of the world 😅). Plenty of showers and toilets plus a decent kitchen space. Everything was always clean.

The capsule curtain/blind maybe works a little too well at blocking the space out 😅 there isn’t much air to breathe if you completely close it. I guess that’s a typical problem in capsule hostels though. Despite the aircon, the night does get very warm as well. This is likely also due to the capsule being so well enclosed from the rest of the room via the blind.

beds are so comfortable- quiet, dark and cold! good location on the quay, close to food, cafe, bars and train station. staff were friendly and helpful.

bathrooms were super compared with nowhere to put dry clothes so they didn’t get wet. not the best value for money. not the most social either
