Vila Gale Sintra

Overall we had an excellent stay. We chose this venue mainly for the kids and they had an absolute blast. The staff and facilities are excellent and the breakfast spread is impressive.

We struggled to get transport into town and it seemed like many uber drivers didn’t want to take the trip out to the hotel. The hotel was always able to help with private taxi drivers though - it was just costly.

Amazing hotel. This is our 4th time at this hotel. Staff are friendly and approachable, always happy to help (in particular Delcio from the restaurant that every evening provided amazing customer service always friendly and made us feel comfortable) Dede one of the children activities staff was also great with our children and the reason why our children loved the kids club. Both Delcio and Dede are an asset to the team! Clean facilities, great outdoor and indoor pool. Great hotel for families.

Restaurant should have food that properly caters for children such as chicken nuggets, pizzas. they had soup which it was great but as children are on holidays they could also have treats. Add a small kettle to the rooms. Although they have a coffee machine, having a kettle would be helpful as well.

It is a good hotel but I would not rate it as a 5 star.. Room was good (a bit dark I would say) breakfast had good variety and parking is free. Animation staff for kids - they are all brillinant!

Check in was super slow! Staff is generally nice bit there was one waiter at the bar (near the reception) who just didn’t seem to be interested in serving anyone. Swimming pools (indoor) are not very clean and you need reservation if it’s crowded. The problem is that apparently this is a windy location and swimming in the outside pools were just too cold for us.

The swimming pools were amazing - definitely the highlight. Great to have tennis courts as well. Beautiful setting in the countryside with view of Peña palace in the distance. Spacious and clean apartment. We really appreciated the friendly kitchen staff who made separate pancakes and doughnuts for my son who has food allergies.

Remote location, without a car you cannot go anywhere. We had an apartment with a kitchen but we couldn’t get to a shop to buy food without taking a taxi or hiring a car. Could the hotel offer a shuttle bus to town at least a couple of times a day?

Bedroom set up for a family with 2 little kids was perfect and the kids facilities and kids club staff excellent, honestly couldn't fault them. the website could do with a better explanation of how it is run though.

i would return to the hotel but i am now pre warned. the restaurant doesn't open until 7.30, too late for little kids especially after a long journey arriving. there is a 'bar' menu but it is pretty inflexible and the bar area is not ideal to sit in with kids. we ended up sitting on the floor in the bar so the kids could put their food on a table. the kids menu in the restaurant is a bit beige and limited, thankfully we were only there 3 nights. also you have to have your mobile with you all the time as there are no longer menu's available, not even a wine list, just QR codes. rather irritating if you are trying to detach from work.

Me and my husband stayed for one night. This is the BEST hotel I ever stayed in. RECEPTION, lovely check in. A BIG thank you to ROBSON, who were just lovely. As it was my birthday we received complimentary white bottle of wine, two delicious chocolates cakes and fruit. Thank you for making our stay so special. ROOM-standard room it was very spacious with balcony. King size bed so comfy. Towels so soft, Complimentary robes and slippers, Mini bar and complimentary water. TV with a lot of channels, no access to Netflix. SPA, POOLS- amazing 2 outdoor pools, one indoor pool with warmer water, jacuzzi. Loved it, so relaxing. RESTAURANT- breakfast and dinner were buffet, so much choice of delicious food. STAFF- every one was friendly and Thanks to restaurant staff of helping my husband with vegetarian options at the buffet. Hotel design- loved the fresh green design with historic decorations

The location is beautiful but Sintra is very windy and cloudy place.

We had a small apartment. The kids slept on the pull out sofa in the living room and my parents-in-law had their own room with bathroom. We only stayed for 1 night, but this hotel offers a lot to make it worth staying here longer. There is a lot in the neighbourhood to explore and Lissabon is close by. Breakfast comes in several extended self service bars. There is a lot to choose from, even a table with local delicacies.

The living area didn't smell very nice. We think it's a lack of use of the sink in the kitchen. If we had stayed there longer, we would have asked to have it resolved, but we just stayed for one night, so it was a minor issue for us.

The hotel is situated in the beautiful and historic town of Sintra, which is known for its picturesque landscapes, palaces, and castles. Amenities and services typical of a modern hotel, including comfortable rooms, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, spa facilities. It is great place for families especially those with young kids, lot of playground and there are 3 swimming pools. Staff was great and very welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic, so many options and very long buffet. You can park in same building of your stay.

Friendly staff, spacious, great balcony views, tranquil (seem to have missed all the peak kids play times lol), good variety at the breakfast buffet (especially loved the fresh juices), decent gym equipment, loved the indoor pool was lucky enough to have to myself when I visited.

Weird plastic layer between mattress and bedsheets, room service food was average (better to eat in town).

Facilities & services offered were quite good Staff was polite and attentive (reception & bar, can't fully say the same for the breakfast staff) Very clean Spacious room (the hotel in general seems very spacious & nicely structured) Idillyc surroundings, you can spot Pena and the Moorish castle from the main hall

Breakfast selection/quality was ok, but not great Bar could have a wider drink selection, but I do assume it's enough for the purpose of the hotel Be prepared to face mosquitos even in the room (no insect repellent seems to be used)
