Lub d Philippines Makati

Good location. Excellent value for money. It is basically clean and safe. Very nice compared to the atmosphere outside. I decided to stay for two weeks.

Beds should be made up. I asked several times and the staff said they would, but they didn't, so I gave up. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, but the prohibition of bringing in food and beverages and the high pricing of beverages is offensive. For a bottle of coke, you can have a set meal outside with coke. The showers are prone to fill up with water and almost overflow. They should use a liquid that improves the plumbing. The male staff and security guards were courteous, but the female staff seemed little less hospitable by comparison.

Absolutely loved the modern and clean design of the room and the bathroom, the great customer service, the fact that there were lots of outlets in the room, the mini fridge and hairdryer, the dispensers for shampoo and soap (minimizing plastic waste!), the rooftop bar, and the water dispenser on my floor near the elevators. Poblacion, Rockwell, Burgos, and even the CBD are just a short walk away.

Although I was placed in one of the quieter rooms of the hostel, the soundproofing still had some issues as I could hear the mass at the church outside and the sound of the TV in the room beside mine. It was good that the aircon was a bit loud as it was able to slightly drown out the noise of the TV. Although the towels smelled freshly laundered, they didn't look super clean as they were old and have been used over and over before. The double bed was two mattresses together, which would be uncomfortable if you liked rolling around the bed. I just chose which side I was going to sleep on (one of the mattresses was not as firm as the other one).

This has been my second stay so far I love the blankets. Very comfortable. I love the soup serve in the breakfast buffet, very friendly to those who have digestive problems.

There was a very accomodating girl staff (Kudos to the girl with long black straight hair). Thank you Ms. However, the atmosphere before is not the same as when I first stay at lub d. Not all staff are accomodating, welcoming and as friendly as before. So it reflects that the guest are hostile too. One of the reason I came back to Lub d was the atmosphere of the place. Happy disposition is viral and as what I have read from reviews and the mission or tagline is it takes pride of its friendly atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is good. There were times where no soup serve for breakfast.

For a hostel this was really great quality and very well equipped. Comfortable dorm beds, individual storage/rail for each person, nice design of room/bed, working space in the lobby is excellent so I would highly recommend for a remote worker on a budget. They also have a comfy chill out room with TV / fusball table etc which was great for keeping occupied while waiting for our flight after checkout! Bathrooms are spacious with big mirrors. Roof terrace with buffet breakfast was also enjoyable.

Prices in the resto are expensive for the average traveller on a budget (breakfast P300, coffee between P120-180, small redhorse P150) The shower cubicles were pretty small and most showers were broken or not very clean. a shame because the rest of the accommodation is really great otherwise.

I like the staff, everyone seems very friendly whether you are a local or foreigner. Other customers or travellers are friendly too. I appreciate the staff they are helpful and approachable. Great food at the resto and the breakfast was really great. Clean rooms and comfort rooms with very big mirrors and well ventilated In the rooms very nice comfy bed with the clean white bed sheets. I love the blanket they are thick and also the towel are very absorbent. The lobby was also very good for working with a good and friendly ambiance. Your stuffs are safe around. I love how they value individuality and also the joy of interacting with others. The ambiance was really friendly and good. I never felt alone despite my first time in Makati area during my stay because everyone seems to be friendly. The location is very strategic and accessible to transportation. The mix of good restaurants are just around the corner. Fast food chains are not so far and bars are just also around the place. The price was good and it is worth its value. Kudos Lub D! Hope to have Lub D in Cebu too. 😝

Stayed here from April 30 to May 5.The location is great and close to P Burgos where the night life is. Is it also not too far away from the shopping areas in Makati. The Family Room was spacious and had comfortable beds. The shower is a bit cramped and the shower head was a bit loose which made it hard to use at times. The staff were helpful and assisted where possible. The room was serviced whenever I requested for it but there was an instance that it was missed but was rectified when I informed the staff. I would stay here again.

i love everything about it. the bed was clean and tidy, restroom was spotless too, the facilities was superb, and their staffs are generous and welcoming! Food was delicious! definitely gonna come here again soon!

I stayed on the 3rd floor so everytime I need to get to the lobby I had to use a lift. quite inconvenient where I had to wait some time to get to 1 floor below mine. The emergency Exit door on 3rd has some faulty and can’t be open. i wish you can check that out and it would be awesome if people can just use stairs instead to move from one floor to another 😊

The room was very clean, cozy, and spacious. There were a lot of electric outlets. Curtains were blackout. It has good wifi connection too. The toilet has bidet, and good ventilation, equipped with towel racks, and water heater, to add water supply was strong. Also, the hotel did not require me to deposit any cash. The hotel staff were fast enough to answer any concerns and deliver the requested items.

toiletries weren't as complete (no toothbrush & toothpaste), and there was no toilet rug provided. bed prep in the upper area isn't as good as the lower ones.

When I'm traveling solo, I usually book an Airbnb but this time, I wanted to save money so I booked a dorm room. I read about Lub'd from Aisa Ipac's blog way back and the place looked promising so I booked it. In fairness, my expectations were met and more! ROOM - The bed was firm. The aircon was cold. The room had lockers and a separate changing area as not to disturb other guests (though I was the only guest most of the time). - There were enough sockets per bed. - The rooms and common bathrooms were spic and span. FACILITIES -There was a washing machine and dryer in the common bathroom (but didnt get to use it) - I loved hanging out at the lobby; lots of work stations and the room was bright. LOCATION The location was also nice. Easily accessible/easy to get transportation. Lots of food places in the area, though they have a great rooftop bar & resto if you dont want to leave the hostel. STAFF Staff were all really nice and helpful.

Spectacular staff doing the best they can with what they have. The ladies at the front desk, the restaurant workers, and most especially the 2 guards out front. The food upstairs was some of the best we had in Manila.

Incredibly, frustratingly noisy rooms. Between the other guests (the worst) and the street noises, it was impossible to get a restful sleep here. The rooms are tiny and have these confounding elevated bed platforms that reduce the useable space even more. Even with the dumb platforms, the mattress essentially sits on the floor so lots of fun getting up out of bed. No closet, no hangars, no desk. I would imagine there are prison cells with more room.
