The Oceanside Motel

Very well appointed and serviced units. Ideally located across the road from the beach front to see awesome sunrises even from the ground unit which we were based. Nice area to sit outside from the lounge area in your own private courtyard. A very nice Continental Breakfast(after selecting options to each taste) arrived in the evening for the next day so you're not disturb in the morning which was a great thought. The staff upon arrival and departing (different both times) were great and friendly. We only stayed one night on this trip but looking forward to our return for longer.

Location was fantastic. Beautiful views of the sunrise in the morning. Easy walk to bars ,restaurants and shops . Very Comfortable beds . well equipped.. Just stayed one night which was not long enough. Milk offered on arrival and tea and coffee in the room . Very friendly owner . Laundry available and free parking.

Walls a little thin. Could hear the person in the next room coughing and their conversations . Luckily it didn't start until 7am .

The staff were super friendly and accomodating to our needs during the stay. The beds were super comfy! Best sleep I have had on holiday in a long time. The room was very clean and spacious, where 5 of us were able to comfortably move around and enjoy the room/porch facing the beach

There was nothing that I think needed improving

Great location across from the east facing beach, so beautiful for a morning swim with the sun bouncing off the gentle rolling waves. Nice varanda to sit with a drink in the evening and a nice stroll along the beach to cafes and restaurants not too far away.

Bed could do with an upgrade as wasn’t the most comfortable.

The staff went well and beyond from their routine; quite helpful and professional. We arrived late out of office hours, however once we sent SMS that we are at their doors, within 3=4 minutes some of the staff has arrived to greet us; They gave us quite helpful hint where to eat this late. And in the morning after we checked out (even they didn't have to) they helped us with the towels and the shovel (which we didn't have) so we could go and enjoy the Hot Water Beach. All this combined made the highlight of our journey!

Can't recall

We had the best of weeks, great Location for all food places or just cook in house. We took an airfryer which not having an oven was ideal. Beds were fine, and lovely sea breeze each evening didn't require air conditioning. Cleaned daily if required Lovely hosts.

The water pressure was a bit low in the shower but possibly we are spoilt at home. Nothing else to complain about.

The location was great and the view from the upper level room was amazing. The room was quiet, dispite being close to the road. The room was well equipped with high quality appliances and tapware. Would definately stay again.

Being an East facing room, I would have expected block out curtains as was difficult to sleep in with sun coming in around the blinds.

There was a credit card charge of $16 which we were not aware of when we booked (was on the invoice from the hotel after booking confirmed). We used a UK debit card but these are treated as credit cards in NZ.

Lovely view, easy access to car park, nice big bed, nice spa bath, good wifi connection. Host was really kind and lovely, showed us places of interests near by using map.

Toilet wasn't flushing and filling,it was definitely an inconvenience in room 8. Kitchen sink smelled bad, like something was rotten inside, made washing the dishes uncomfortable.

Lovely spot and close to shops. Easy walking. Friendly staff.

Would have been nice to have a comfortable arm chair as 1 person on 2seater couch and only single bed for another semi comfortable seat. Ment to mention the coffee plunger could do with replacing as it’s lost it ability to stay up before you depress, when you depress it’s spits out all over you. Otherwise fabulous place 😁
