At Parkland Place B&B

Maria was a fantastic hostess. The property is beautiful, the linens, dishes, etc. were very "European" and lovely. The breakfasts were excellent ... no one could go away hungry. Fresh bread, cheeses, fruits, meats, and made-to-order scrambled eggs couldn't have been better. If you wanted/needed anything or any answers, Polish Maria (as she liked to refer to herself) would do it for you...make reservations, get you something....whatever you needed, Maria was there for you! The epitome of what a B&B host should be! Thank you, Maria.

Not a thing!

Maria the hostess was very attentive to all our needs. We were travelling with a ten month old baby. The property was very clean and comfortable and convenient to have a walk along the foreshore. The property had a small kitchenette (microwave and fridge, kettle with all plates and cutlery). We had access to a bbq and large outdoor setting. Plus the breakfast provided was varied and delicious.

Exceptional place. The hosts Maria and Guy are amazing personalities, very friendly and hospitable. We stayed for 2 nights over Christmas break our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, spotless and we really enjoyed our stay. Maria looked after us from the time we arrived, gave us a short tour of the place, where to find everything. There was some chocolates in our room with fresh water bottles. The best part of this place is the Breakfast. It was fantastic and Maria ensured no one left her dining room hungry, offering cereals, cheeses, salami, salmon, yoghurts, toast, and both boiled as well as scrambled (one of the best in the town) eggs. We shared our home-made Pan cakes with them, both Maria and Guy really enjoyed our food. We would highly recommend anyone to visit this beautiful place, when you need to stay in Whitianga, you will not regret.

We loved everything about Parkland Place! Maria and Guy are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was delicious and generous. I especially loved the fresh fruit. The location was quiet with a little river in back. The beach is a quick walk away. The main town is very nearby. Our room was fantastic with a private back patio facing beautiful foliage with the river just beyond. We had a king bed and spa bath - all sparkling clean.

Awesome location, lovely rooms interior. Clean and tidy everywhere possible. Included breakfast is tasty and lots of meal choices included brewed coffee. We loved the hot bath as well. Amazing host, easy going and love to chat with

No complains, just found some pillows are not comfortable but we had a few options to choose. A little loud in the mornings as the kitchen was close by our room.

Maria was an exceptional host, very warm , generous and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. So many choices. We loved sitting in the garden enjoying a glass of wine. Maria gave us towels and a spade for the hot beach. Our room was very spacious and beautifully presented. Our bathroom was large and Maria gave us new towels every day with two bottles of water and chocolates.

It felt like we were staying with very generous family members. You can guarantee there will be a warm conversation with the hosts. We arrived for easter, and they even set up a small easter egg hunt for us - we're a bit old for it in our mid 20s but we certainly appreciated the friendliness and boisterousness. The room was modern with fashionable bedding and a very clean tile bathroom.

The parking on site down the driveway can be very narrow - we didn't have enough space to open the doors, so parked on the street instead - there should be plenty as there were multiple spots on a long weekend. This was fine for us, but may have been a pain if you had a lot of luggage with you.

Maria and Guy were incredibly welcoming. We loved the homely feel of the b&b and felt very comfortable here. Having breakfast with proper china was a really cute and unique touch. Maria and Guy definitely have a great place with the European touches. Had great conversations with them over breakfast! They have great knowledge of the area, the best places to eat, the best sights and so on. And having the extra option of Maria and her massage and facial combo package... beautiful! One of the best places we have stayed in New Zealand and we will be back!

Nice host, wonderful breakfast. So clean, and all details, could show the host really put lots of effort, and really from the heart. I love the most is the pillow, which is very special, the Y shape, so comfortable, side sleep, every position. First time see this kind of pillows, would like to buy them for my own. Thanks Maria!!!

Maria welcomed us warmly into her beautiful spacious house. Our room was attractively designed, with a very comfortable bed, big TV, lovely bathroom, and lots of personal touches. Maria prepared us a delicious breakfast, each day, with eggs cooked to order, coffee made to order, gorgeous fruit salad, cereals. bread selection- all served on pretty bone china, in a cosy room with a log fire- a great start to the day.
