Villa Orquídea Boutique Hotel

The whole experience was fabulous! Low key/ chill atmosphere, but with everyone being totally attentive, helpful and friendly. Subtle elegance. Lovely setting, with nice refreshing pool. Great location—just far enough from busier area but in walking distance—easy to park car. Wonderful breakfast staff/very tasty. Rooms were large and peaceful—good AC. Had everything we needed. I would recommend to anyone. Plus it was a bargain price-wise.

My family and I were really impressed with the attentiveness of the staff and housekeepers. We felt really comfortable asking them anything. The location is great! If you want a quieter city location this is definitely it. It isn't super close to the central area, probably 4-5 blocks of walking but it was in the best location for our preferences. We were in love with the space and interior and this will most definitely be our favorite place to stay in Merida!

The only thing I would have to nitpick is the pool area. We went in January, so the weather wasn't as hot as other seasons, but I wish there was less shade to enjoy tanning and swimming. But the space and amenities were stunning and the pool restroom offered was perfect and clean!

Absolutely beautiful, small property right in the center of Merida. Very modern, large room; everything super clean and staff incredibly friendly and attentive. Breakfast (included) was fresh and delicious. We stayed here very spontaneously and only for 1 night, but already wish we stayed a bit longer, as we had such a good time. Definitely recommend for anyone wishing to explore Merida!

Nothing, everything was perfect. If you listen closely you can maybe hear the road a little bit in the morning, but it didn’t bother us at all and it’s probably normal if you stay in the center of Merida.

Lorena, our hostess, and the staff were wonderful. Lorena was accommodating with any questions we had and gave us great local recommendations and a beach recommendation for the next part of our travels. The included breakfast was delicious and at a dining table, allowing us to make friends with other travelers. We ended up meeting two new sets of friends from those breakfasts. Breakfasts were also able to accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free needs. Villa Orquidea was beautiful and walkable. We could walk just a couple blocks to Parque Santa Lucia for food and wine. La Plaza Grande and Dzalbay, a local jazz club, were also within walking distance. We had walking access to many restaurants and shops! We would for sure stay there again!

Great place in a wonderful city, few blocks from downtown, just far enough from the "crowd". Alberto and Denise have been super nice providing me all the useful information I needed : private tours, share tours, restaurants, places to visit ! The hotel is a wonderful house refurbished with all the confort (good bed, nice room size, air conditionning, water/coffee/thea area, super clean, swimming pool). Of course the swiming pool and the hamac are the place to be ! Thank you to Alberto & his staff and see you soon !! Highly recommended !

It was a pleasant surprise to arrive to this comfortable renovated boutique hotel. Rooms very pleasant and clean. Getting into the pool at night was so nice. Theres coffee all day available. Great antique furniture in the reception and dinning area. Lorena and Denisse were so kind, helpful and attentive. Kitchen staff very kind too. The place is very well located, 5 blocks from the Santa Lucia park, palacio de la musica, casa Montejo , downtown area and 6 blocks from Paseo Montejo. Breakfast well served, great and kind service..

I really enjoyed my stay here

This place offers an exceptional service from the start until leaving the place (which you really don’t want). Receiving right after the order a super friendly E-Mail with all necessary information about the Check-in process. The Check-in was super flexible and very welcoming - I was could move into the hotel room earlier. All services during my stay where simply great and always much more then expected. Sorry for eating almost the complete breakfast cake but it was so sooooo good! Thank you Lorena - you are a perfect host.

This is a stunningly beautiful property. It is not a converted old house as most very small hotels are. Most of it was built recently to be a small hotel. Someone spent a lot of time on the design to incorporate structural steel into it along with natural materials and plantings. The rooms are large, the fixtures are first-rate - granite countertops, big tiled showers. Breakfast is served, not a typical buffet, on porcelain china. Even when the building was close to full capacity, it never felt crowded.

A plus about the location if you have a car is that street parking is easy, and it isn't so everywhere. The minus is that it is a ten minute walk to most anything you'd want to see, and it is not a pretty walk.

The room was very spacious and comfortable, with an amazing room fragrance. The bathroom has an amazing bath and good toiletries. The breakfast is served in a big table, which is great for sharing travel tips with other tourists, it reminded us from the times we used to stay in hostels and shared experiences with people all over the world. There were also Lonely Planets and other guides available to plan your next steps.

Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast included fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, juice, coffee, and freshly made eggs with avocado and tomato every morning. Pool was nice to hang out at after coming back from the day's activities. Street parking for our rented car was very easy. Girlfriend had a massage, and she said it was the best she's ever had. Insanely relaxing. Host was so helpful in providing advice for activities and getting around.
