JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa

This resort was gorgeous. The room was beautiful and the bed was pretty comfortable. The service from all of the staff was top notch. someone was always there to help out.

The food at all of the restaurants was not the best. The only decent food was by the pool, but it still gave us all an upset stomach. The drinks were all watered down. The sangria that I ordered tasted like fruit punch. I don’t even think there was any wine in it.

Everything was amazing. The staff was so polite and helpful, the hotel, pool and rooms are beautiful and clean. It was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I would definitely stay there again. Very relaxing.

The food could've been better, other than that everything was great. Also the hotel beach was covered in seaweed but all beaches on that area were like that. If you want a clean beach consider staying north, close to the party area (coco bongo, señor frogs), the beaches there were blue and pristine.

It is a beautiful hotel and very clean. Staff around the pool were very attentive to us, nice and helpful.

One of the things that I did not like was that when we checked in the lady at the front desk did not explain anything to us. She did not inform us of anything. It was until we were checking out that we learned that we had a room credit. Also, while waiting outside our room for housekeeping to be done with our room we heard them complaining and talking bad. They should not be commenting on anything when guests are around.

The option to choose between beach and swimming pool (very nice pool) is great, but for both you need to be very early to reserve your sun bed. As we didn't on the first day (and we're not like that kind of tourist), we were out of luck. Day 2 we did do an effort to claim some sun beds at the swimming pool early, only to find out that others had already been earlier. I prefer hotels that maintain the policy that you cannot claim a sun bed for longer than 30 min without using it. The absence of this policy degrades the experience for those who are not the "claim quickly, me me me" types.

We had pre-paid a price that included breakfast for all 4 of us, but hotel didn't honor this, claiming our price only included breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children max 12 years old. That was not what was on our written confirmation from Booking.com, but instead of honoring our reservation and solving it between hotel and Booking.com, we simply had to pay extra. Prices on Booking.com don't come out of thin air I would imagine, and are provided by the hotel, so any discrepancies should not be put on the plate of the guest, I think. But there was no reasoning possible with the reception manager despite the undeniable written confirmation of this condition - quite disappointing.

We stayed on the top floor (at an additional cost). Breakfast and dinner buffet were included. They were good, but not anything exceptional.

Nice stay, but not the greatest value.

We loved this hotel. The staff were all great, so friendly and accommodating. Everthing about our stay was great. Restaurant's are good.

Shirts We had a few issues with the dry cleaning. It took more than a week to get two shirts cleaned. Not sure why? Also often glasses where not replaced or coffee was not replaced. But otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

That waiter took my cash n still charged my meal to my hotel room. And they wouldn't investigate.

My trip to the JW Marriot Cancun was life changing. I had a really difficult year but decided to take the trip for my 50th birthday. I’m so glad I did. I was treated very well, from the moment I got in the JW shuttle to the time I checked out. The staff was very attentive. Upon check in as I was telling Jerry-who happens to be amazing- what I went through to get there and that it was my 50th birthday, decided to blow me away and upgrade my room. I thought I booked the best room in the house... (for my budget) well it turns out it got better. I truly had the best room in the house, literally! (The Presidential Suite) This trip restored my faith and reset my clock reminding me that good things still do happen to good people. One of my friends had a room on another floor and her room was really nice as well... trust me I would’ve been ranting and raving the same way had I not been upgraded. The rooms and hotel really are very well maintained and the level of care and attention to detail from the staff made it a really magical experience. I made new friends / connections that will last a lifetime. Everything from the spa and indoor pool area, room service, restaurants, the beach, the infinity pool and outdoor pool area, as well as the live music in the lobby area nightly made for an amazing stay! We felt safe, and well taken care of... we all left feeling refreshed and blessed! Thank you JW Cancun for restoring my faith and resetting my clock!! I highly recommend...

There was some minor construction going on, but it didn’t bother me... it just went to show that they took pride in the place, and are dedicated to keeping it up. The hours of work were respectful and the work areas were well contained.

The hotel has a nice location with access to the beach and a nice view onto the ocean. It is certainly large but it didn’t feel crowded given that there were lots of recreational areas (very large pool) including ones reserved for adults only. We enjoyed dining in at their restaurants, the food was very good both at breakfast and in the evening at Sedona. the rooms were kept impeccably clean and generally the staff was great

The tennis courts are perhaps fun for kids to play on, they are fluffy and can’t be used for actual play

Fox News playing on a large screen in Covid testing area. The same news program was seen playing in a lounge area at the sister Marriott hotel next door. Maybe mgmt isn’t inclined toward CNN. OK. But then choose a news source such a BBC with a more international scope.
