Mercure Parma Stendhal

The location was really great! Very close to everything in the center. The receptionists were very helpful with everything. ( They also recommended a restaurant for dinner - La Greppia which was spectacular! Delicious and just 2 minutes from the hotel) The room was a good size with good air-conditioning Everything was clean and comfortable We didn't try the breakfast but we were told there is one available if we like.

The furniture is a bit dated but we were very comfortable and everything was clean so there was no issue The water pressure wasn't great but it was OK and the shower itself was nice and modern ( generally the bathroom was nicely renovated)

Very friendly receptionists, huge plus for the hotel! we got the room with corner balcony and it was great. Nice afternoon sun to enjoy. Also good temperature inside the room. Breakfast was okay, not as exceptional as some other comments say it is, coffee was not Italian standard I had to go have a better one to forget about it ;) (noting here that in general I had amazing breakfasts in other places making it hard to compete with).

for some the old furniture/appliances might be a minus, I found it gave the hotel something special

Hotel location: very central & close to some excellent dining options (Greppia, Trovatore, Corrieri, Ruliano) The decor of both hotel & room itself, room size in general, beautiful bathroom including spacious shower, fully fledged minibar, good buffet breakfast including GF alternatives. Well Done!

The airconditioning was rather weak : we happened to encounter unexpected warm weather during our stay, so a cooler & more powerful aircon would have been much appreciated. Also, although breakfast food quality was excellent, some variety in breakfast would have been a nice touch. Finally, having paid for late checkout, we would have expected at least a fresh change of towels but then it was promptly sorted for us.

Great location, firm, comfortable mattress, modern bathroom, shower good. We had breakfast there one morning but it’s overpriced if you’re not a big breakfast eater and preferred to sit outside in piazza Garibaldi instead.

The room had very heavy decorations and furnishings - carpet, heavy curtains, clunky old desk. I suffer from dust allergies and I had a hard time. There was a past customer’s old face mask under the bed (yuck!) so I don’t think they do a whole lot of vacuuming. The lobby had that three star look of heavy chandeliers, overstuffed furniture. Basically, it is dusty and needs some updating. Other than that, it’s fine.

The hotel is ideally located with most tourist attractions in walking distance. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. Big bathroom. The breakfast was good - more on the Italian side with a lot of sweets but - hey, we're in Italy!!!

The hotel was hard to find with all the one way streets leading to it. Our Nav Sat couldn't find it but luckily Google Maps helped us after half an hour driving around...

The hotel was beautiful, and centrally located to all of the historical sites we wanted to visit as well as outstanding restaurants that featured local cuisine. The staff went over and beyond to help us make dinner reservations and to just make our stay all that more comfortable. The hotel also had it's own parking facility which made things a lot easier for us to deal with the car we rented in Italy.

Couldn’t believe how close we were to the train station - only about 8 minutes walk, dragging our bags of course. Yet only another 5-10 mins from the most important historic places. Got a lovely room with a view of La Pilotta which I had requested. The room is so pretty with beautiful furniture, felt like luxury! Staff were really friendly and helpful. would certainly recommend to anyone travelling by train and wanting somewhere really nice to stay.

They was amazing me and my partner went though a medical emergency out there and they was so support in extending the room looking after our luggage and helping with taxi back and fourth to hospital and even one to a airport in Milan to get back soon as possible they made it happen lovely people all of them!!

Location perfect. Large room and bathroom. Loved the fridge. Bed perfect and large as advertised.

Parking is in a basement 10 meters away. Very expensive.....EU 18.00 for 24 hrs. The basement is so cramped that you have to leave the car keys with the attendant who moves the cars around as they are needed.

Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Petra was an excellent representative of the hotel! Excellent buffet breakfast. Good location near the center of Parma.

Shower is cramped. Never could figure out how to turn on the floor lamp.
