Masseria Fontana di Vite

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Annalisa! She explained everything, answered all of my questions, and even walked around to check in with all the guests on several occasions. She was overall a very friendly hostess! The pool area is fantastic after a day of exploring or for a full day of rest on a longer trip. They offer drink service at the pool which is a real treat! My room also had a terrace where I could lounge and have my own drinks and snacks within walking distance to the pool. Wifi was strong throughout the property, which is not always standard in such a remote location, so bonus points for that! The maids were flexible and always confirmed when the best time would be to clean the room. Very friendly ladies always greeting the guests! If you are staying in the satellite building by the pool, you can park in the lot right next to the side entrance so you are not walking on pebbles with your luggage - a nice thoughtful, gesture. Lastly, it is very accessible to the city of Matera (only 10 minutes drive) or the beaches of Metaponto (1 hour with traffic, shorter if no traffic) It goes without saying you need your own car to stay here.

My only suggestion is to put up a more visible sign as to where to check in upon arrival - I followed the sign to the main building and tried multiple doors before contacting Annalisa, who answered me immediately and came out to find me. I'd put up a little sign directing people to go around into the courtyard. Otherwise, I have no complaints, everything was fantastic - I will be back!

Marvelous Hotel!!! One of my unique and bucolic experience in my entire life! You feel like a real “Don” in a Italian Villa. The room and bed are very comfortable. The air conditioner is on the perfect perfect tenperature. Cleaniless is King. Breakfast suberb and the view is unforgetable. Everything is great on this Hotel! Worth every penny of it!

Th location of the Hotel is countryside. No problem about that. In fact, that is the charm of the Hotel. The only problem is, if you dont have a good gps, it is possible to have trouble to find it, since there is no signs.

We visited Matera as part of a road trip along Amalfi and around Puglia. This was one of my favourite hotels and one night wasn’t long enough! The rooms are very well done, the setting is stunning, the pool is lovely, and breakfast was great. A very very peaceful and rustic luxury-feeling stay that offered great value for money!

It’s worth noting that the hotel, being a farmhouse, isn’t that close to Matera and you will require a car.

Wow!! It is hard to expalin, you need to be there to understand. The facility is beautiful, very large, with fabulous gardens, in a rural landscape with an endless view to the valley. All of the stuff are very kind and friendly. The room is big, clean, comfortable, the decoration of the room and all of the facility are in the highest level. The pool area is magical. The breakfast is amazing, with a wide varity of homemade products and options. At the evening you can eat at the restaurant and get a cheffs meal, at the highest level of culinary, a very creative menu and tasty for a fair price. The location is also great, just 15 minutes from Matera. We will come back for sure and highly recommend it!

This Masseria uses elegant, classic modern design in a beautiful setting. The rooms are spacious, aesthetically pleasing with high ceilings.

The rooms are probably comfortable for a one night stay, but not for a stay of several days or longer. The room we had was not very functional. There was little space to put anything. There are closets, with 2hangers, no shelves, no dressers. There is a narrow shelf/desk, that has an electric kettle, large vase of dried flowers, large cups and room for little else. The bathroom also had no shelves or drawers.

The place looks really nice the rooms are big and comfy, located in a beayutiful place.

The room had a bit of smell but after opening the window for a few minutes it was better. Breakfast and dinner were ok but not more than that. The one thing that got us upset was that we asked for laundry service for 10 underwear (it was really nothing) and they charged us for 22 euros! It is our fault that we didnt ask for the price but still its very expensive.

It’s a fantastic place, an old farm turned into a classy boutique hotel. The owners’ family runs the hotel, so it’s clean and well-kept, down to minor detail. A proper place to enjoy the tranquility of the country life on style and a perfect base to visit nearby historical towns Matera, Altamura, and Gravina. Cool chill-out area with an outstanding selection in the bar.

I would add some vegetables to the breakfast selection.

Amazing masseria and amazing owners! We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed very much. Our room was big and with lots of amenities! Don’t miss the restaurant if you stay here, because the food is very good! All the staff is also always very kind and they reply always with a smile! Location amazing : 15 min away from the beautiful Matera! And Bari too is not too far ! I highly recommend it!

Beautiful property with lovely pool and outside areas to sit and relax. Good restaurant and bar. Easy car journey to Matera. The reception staff were very helpful.

The breakfast was a little sparse, one morning some things hadn’t been replenished, there were no croissants and we had to ask for bread. Tea and coffee refills would also have been welcome.

Superb. Friendly and welcoming (we were a same day booking)and room was ready just few hours after we booked and well before official check in time. Lovely big room, great bathroom and big shower. Property is thoughtfully designed throughout. Good pool, lots of sun beds and regular pool drinks service. Super breakfast. We loved our stay.
