It’s very well located. The room was very clean. The furniture is quite simple and the decoration is a little bit outdated but this didn’t affected my stay. if you’re looking for design or charm accommodation this is probably not the place for you. however, if you privilege location and good price/quality ratio, I would definitely recommend Albergo Roma. They will give a breakfast voucher to a nearby cafeteria with amazing iced-creams. the breakfast is quite simple - coffee and croissant, but anyway, it’s a nice way to start the day. And if it’s not enough, there’s a supermarket right around the corner.

The location is amazing, close to the bus station where we arrived from the Bari airport (700m from the accommodation) and close to the main square with a beutifull view of the cathedral (7 min by walk). It was easy to find as there is a huge sign near the entrance, the reception is on the first floor and both receptionist we met were super friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and had an AC, it was a bit colder during our stay and the kind man at the reception helped us turn it on so it would flow warm air. We had a TV which we didn’t use, a wardrobe with 2 extra warm blankets (more like huge quilts/scarf like blankets) and a hanger for our coats. The bathroom had a clasic WC, bidet and the shower stall was okayish (we are short, so it was a challange to reach the shower head). There was some free soap, shower gel. The room also had a small hairdryer. We had breakfast included. We got vouchers at the reception and walked 20m to the left to a cafe where we got coffee and a tasty croissant (you can choose between plain, chocolate and cream). We had ice cream from the caffe the day before and it was super tasty too.

Excellent position, very close to the old town. Small hotel with several rooms but very nice and clean. Reception guy was very kind and helpful providing many useful information. Stairs to the first floor where the rooms are. Rooms are small but it was not a problem for us (one night). Nice supermarket just 20 m behind the hotel.

Free parking in the very narrow side street. We were lucky to find free place on Saturday evening but it took us several minutes to park properly. Breakfast in the nearby caffe (only coffee and croisant).

Albergo Roma is a nice hotel, centrally located and only about 200 meters away from the old town. The hotel is on the first floor, with amazing marble stairs leading up there. From the reception you can get to a decent terrace and enjoy the sun. Staff were friendly and really helpful. The room was big enough for my liking and all was very clean. Very good value for money!

I think the walls were paper thin. My neighbour the first night turned over in bed quite a bit and that could easily be heard. No neighbour the second night though :-). And though I’m not really a big breakfast man, I thought a croissant with a cup of coffee was a bit meagre. This is the reason I ended up with an 8.

* Breakfast simple but pretty good in a cafe nearby (50m away, tops): It's just a coffee and a cornetto, but it's a good coffee (latte machiatto, capuccino, americano, etc. you can choose) and a fresh cornetto with a filling of your choice, WAAAAY better than instant coffees or simple filter coffees that other hotels offer. * Location: near the train station and the bus station, but also super close to the Sassi and main square. * Helpful staff: without me even asking, during check-in the guy in the reception gave me a map with a recommended route to visit the Sassi and pointed out food places and everything.

Perfect location, 2 min walk from bus/train station, 3 min walk to Sassi. Very polite and helpful staff at reception. Small hairdryer in the room. I was positively suprised as my room was cleaned everyday and the towels were changed. Breakfast included (Italian breakfast) - croissant and coffee in the bar 30meters from the hotel.

Perfect location for cost as it is 1 block away from ancient area Stassi. Cold AC, comfortable room and bed. Concierge is kind and helpful, giving a map with all the places to visit in town. There is a lounge and outdoor area if you want to enjoy the outdoors while at the hotel. Lots of places to eat or grab take away on the street.

The location was excellent!! Very close to the Sassi and one of our tours the meeting point was there. Also very close for the airport shuttle for Bari airport! All this in a 2 block radius!! Breakfast good at a bar next door.

Excellent location. Receptionist friendly, room was nice, warm, good wifi. Very clean. Place to keep my bicycle.

Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was coffee and a croissant (which were very nice) - which is ok if that’s what it is, but I suggest Booking.com remove the “good breakfast” description as it is misleading - it implies a bit more than coffee and croissant I think.

Excellent small, no frills hotel, a few minutes walk from the centre of Matera and steps down into the Sassi. Clean, comfortable, warm (there was a chill february wind outside). No bar or restaurant. Breakfast served in a local cafe a few yards down the street.

The only thing I could fault were the towels which I mistook for tea towels.
