The Hendrick Smithfield is in an excellent location only a short walk from public transport. There are plenty of eateries locally to choose from which is good as the hotel has no food available in the evenings. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful when needed. The hotel was clean and the room was very comfortable if a little small.

It was a shame that there was no food on offer in the evening other than a packet of crisps. The room was pretty small but fortunately I was alone, travelling for business. A downside of this hotel is that the rooms have no opening windows and as I was there for 12 nights the lack of fresh air became a nuisance.

I read many reviews before the trip about how awfully small the rooms were. Braced myself and expected the worst only to discover that it's not that bad at all. The rooms are small yes but plenty of space to set the luggage down and etc. The bed was also way bigger than it looks like in the photos. The room had all needed necessities - hair dryer, coffee/tea, a nice amount of towels, AC. Also really nice RITUALS hair/body products. The location is good - everything is within walking distance but there are also some really nice bars and restaurants in the area.

The price is quite high but it's the whole of Dublin so can't complain too much. Really wish there was a mini fridge in the room - for longer stays it'd be very convenient. The bed is comfy but if you're planning to get up at night (toilet or etc) - you will wake the other person up. You basically need to step over them. The bathroom door closes really hard. Not possible to open a window.

Properly was modern with a good atmospheric. The staff were amazing so friendly and will go Out of their way to help. Bar had plenty of choice and the cocktails were just fantastic. The bar tender will do any cocktail you want and even made us an amaretto sour, but his way as it wasn’t on the menu. Sláinte. The rooms are very clean, but on the small side. Not a complaint though as I only needed the room to sleep and shower. Housekeeping is daily and will replenish towels, coffee facilities etc. perfect location, very close to the square for restaurants and bars. Close to Jameson Distillery - 6 minute walk. Then Guinness storehouse was only a 15 minute walk. Wuff cafe to the right of the hotel, 3 minute walk got you an extremely tasty breakfast and freshly made coffee. Temple bar was more around a 20 minute walk.

The tv in my room didn’t work. We pre-booked breakfast but could only have it once out of three days. There was no Room for us and no where to sit. So we ended up buying breakfast out. Would rather the hotel not take payment prior without the warning that we had to be there early to get a seat.

Hendricks Hotel is People Friendly . An enthusiastic welcome is the first thing we noticed. The Rooms are as described, economically set up at a economically fair price. The walk in Shower is a Bobby Ewing surprise with the Rituals an added bonus. Location is superb as Smithfield area offers plenty of choice of Restaurants, Pubs and a Modern Cinema. The Luas is a three minute walk, and 24 hrs secure parking off Campus, will cost you 18 Euro ,when normally it would cost 27 Euro. The Bar in the Hendricks stays open until 2330 hrs , the prices are typical Dublin prices.

There was nothing to dislike.

Good continental style breakfast options. Location fine for people who like to walk into town. Tram and bus service close by and Heuston train station is walkable with roller luggage (depending on weather). Special mention for the bar staff, Davod (I think that's right) and a charming young lady from Cork whose name I didn't get.

The rooms are clean and modern but not designed to spend much time in. Couples should be mindful that the double beds can only be accessed from one side, making getting in and out of bed a team effort. The twin bed rooms are maybe a better option if this is an issue.

We really liked the location - a short tram ride out of the center of Dublin (7 min?) and a nice walk. We liked being several blocks away from the city center. Near a nice area with the Jameson Factory, and several nice restaurants and a Tesco supermarket one block over. The staff was so nice, especially the gentleman who ran the morning breakfast service. The bathroom in the room was great. Breakfast was worth it and the food was high quality and plentiful. Good coffee and lattes. The breakfast area served as a bar in the evening. Generally hip feel to the hotel. A few of us took a really nice long walk to the Dublin Zoo from the hotel. I think if you aren't needing a ton of space in your room, this place is really great. While minimalist, the staff present are very responsive!

This is a great hotel, but you have to understand that the rooms are small. Very compact. We had two twin rooms and the rooms very much are good for sleeping and quiet hanging out. No place to put clothes, tiny desk shoved into corner.

The location was pretty great overall, most of the things we wanted to visit were on the farther side of town but we were at least within reasonable walking distance to most things. Wifi was great, shower had great water pressure, and overall we had what we needed for a short stay.

I hadn't realized how small the room would be for the price. If I opened my suitcase fully, it would barely fit between the wall and the bed so we had to stay pretty organized to have any space to move around. I just think overall the price was a bit high on our room (over $250 Euros a night) for such a small space. We'd also not had breakfast included in our price which we didn't mind just an odd note given the considerable price.

Reasonable price compare to some other hotels in Dublin during the time we were there, but still expensive may be because it's in Dublin, Ireland? Breakfast was nice & sufficient. Room was clean. It's not in the main central, but very close to bus stop & tram to get into town.

Our room was reasonable size, however the bed setup was against the wall, so if you have 2 people sharing the bed, you will need to climb in/out over the other person, we found it was uncomfortable. Before we've arrived, we received a few messages for self check in & we did, but ended up we still have to do all over when we get there, not sure if self check in really worth it?

Found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful, accommodating. Rooms are compact but perfectly functional and bed was comfortable. The reception space is comfortable too. We found it did exactly what we wanted it to for 6 people as a group. Bag storage on check out very helpful too. Allows you to get the most out of your trip. Taxis available nearby, often outside the hotel, or bus stops a 5 min walk.

Very little we didnt like. Probably would like more hanging space in the rooms and of course bigger rooms but thats not what this hotel offers. Its perfectly adequate for a city break.

We thought the staff were very helpful - helped us by storing our bags for free before check in and after checkout, helped us check in quickly, got us a taxi, answered questions about best places to eat. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but explored surrounding area where we found lots of options and great food. We thought the rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the hotel was in a good fairly quiet but well connected area of Dublin, easy to walk from there to all the main areas. Also just on the tram route if required. We liked the style of the Hendrick and the friendly staff and would book again.

Dublin is expensive! Taking into account the cost of rooms nearby, and the location, I think we got value for money at The Hendrick Smithfield.
