Hotel Santika Premiere Malang

Santika Malang was perfect for the purpose of our trip. The location is close to everything (it was a great location to leave from for the purpose of our Bromo tour). The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our family loved the pool. Breakfast had a good selection of Indonesian and Continental options. Our highlight of the stay was the staff, who were always understanding and accommodating and who went above and beyond to improve our experience. Thank you so much to the concierge team, the reception team (thanks Mas Iwan for your Malang food recommendations and mba Dessy for all your help with our room) as well as room service and restaurant team (thank you Pak Ian for your help).

The gym equipment and facilities could be improved.

Stayed for 2 nights, family. Lobby was not too big but warm and welcoming. Bed was super comfy, floor i was in (3rd floor with balcony facing pond below) was quiet i could rest peacefully in the evenings. Amenities were satisfactory. Maid service was fast and clean (completed within 2 hours). Breakfast has various selections (local/western), tasty but could be improved. Swimming pool was great: well-maintained, clean, empty (before 7 am) and chlo smell was not too strong.

It was old hotel/building so you can see dirty spots in bathroom due to wear n tear. Room AC was noisy.

The breakfast was superb. Plenty to options to choose from, and it was great for me who stayed at the property for nearly a whole week, so I wouldn't get bored easily with the breakfast options. The staff were friendly and quick in cleaning up after the guests, so the next guests could easily find empty tables to sit on. The pool was clean and nicely maintained. I couldn't smell the chlorine in the pool, so that was a BIG Plus for me. We booked the double-storey Family Room. The room was spacious especially the 2nd floor. The kids were loving it.

With all the positive things mentioned above, I could turn a blind-eye of the negative things. But I think it is worth to mention here so that things can be improved. Molds can be seen almost every corner of the bathroom's sealant. This needs to be regularly maintained. It looks a bit unpleasant, especially when I was taking a shower. The 2nd floor Aircon wasn't cool enough, but it doesn't bother us as the cool air flow from the 1st floor helped cooling down the 2nd floor.

We had family room on 6th floor. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable beds, small balcony, refrigerator in the room. Very good breakfast-a lot of asian food, many fruits, eggs station, bakso and soto ayam. Nice swimming pool. We have used massage in the room-it was very good after few days of hiking. And not very expensive-210k:)

The walls are very thin. We heard our laud neighbours. And sounds from mosque in the middle of the night. Not forget to bring earplugs. It would be great to have knives in the restaurant-will be much easier put the butter on the toast. Of course, it is possible to do with spoon:)

Although Malang left us a little nonplussed, this hotel was a highlight of our 3 weeks in Indonesia. Very comfortable and well appointed; the restaurant for dinner and breakfast is excellent. Although the pool is the centre of attention (so if you're shy you may feel a little exposed), it's superb and a great place to relax after long, hot days.

The hotel is a distance from the centre of town in a city where transport options are basic. And the constant chatter from a nearby mosque is loud and grinding, not just the regular calls to prayer. Bring earplugs.

The staff are very nice, attentive and helpful. The room was nice and spacious. The pool was lovely and had a resort feeling. The breakfast buffet was great with variety of options. The dinner was delicious as well. I highly can recommend the Spa. Best massage I had in a hotel.

Nothing dislike.

we liked the staff, breakfast choices, clean rooms, the set up of the central courtyard, easy to walk to town, close to town for our destinations, and the price.

could be improved: time to get new towels for the room, like the thick quality of the pool towels. gym is very basic: treadmill, bike, multipurpose weight machine.

The rooms are spacious. The breakfast is excellent apart from the coffee and juices. Air con is cold. Staff are friendly. Hotel is not far from town, with a Grab less than 20K Rp. Nice views as you walk to the rooms.

Check in was messy, had to be firm about the booked price online. Room wasn't swept properly on arrival.

The staff were amazing! So helpful and friendly, they helped us so much to book ongoing transport and the mount bromo tour. The hotel gave us food for our onward journey and they offered welcome drinks - all these special touches were so nice. Best hotel I stayed in Indonesia!
