The Royal Garden

The Chinese restaurants on B2 were highly recommended for their food. The pool was nice to get to (you need to transfer to another elevator unless you lived on the top 3 floors) but a bit crowded. The overall ambiance is good and the beds were large and comfortable. The MTR station is about a 5-10min walk.

The room was on the small side and had lower ceilings so felt even tinier. We were on a lower floor as well as facing an office building so the view wasn't great. As we were also close to the elevators, there were some noise outside.

It's a beautiful hotel at night when all the lights are turned on. Nice view from the pool area.

The hotel is already old and needs renovation. For the value is still ok but not for long. And also the shower drain is not letting the water out fast enough and ending up with a footbath while taking a shower... The check inn was fast but.. when the staff asked for 3000HkD in deposit I've got very surprised. Since i got a message from the hotel with only a 1000HKD deposit.

The room is very clean and no odd smell. No skin breakout after the stay which I often encounter. The room is the basic type but you can still see a bit of sea view, and the space is opened and bright without creepy mirror near the bed or any weird lighting that makes you feel creeped out. Once again everything is so clean and if this is an important issue for you, you will feel extremely safe throughout the stay mostly due to good housekeeping work!

there could be a little paper signage placed saying the water bottle in the bathroom is complimentary so I don’t need to ask about it, also it would feel more make sense if it is located on the room desk instead of bathroom. I did not found any hair comb provided in the bathroom drawer, everything else is there like dentist set, shaving tools, and more.

location was great. wonderful sea view. spacious room. I would stay here again.

condition of carpet and furniture looked old and cleanness wasn't impressive. acceptable though

Atmosphere of the hotel, you will never be lonely as soon as you open the hotel room door; you will see people walking at the hallway. Besides, you will see people are having breakfast/lunch /dinner buffets at the atrium at the third floor. Pianist playing music and singing around 8ish. Amazing and wonderful time for you to stay here during Christmas and New Year days. There's a taxi stand

Outside surroundings - smelly, dirty water around the hotel area, garbages everywhere in the street. Government has to clean up the tourist areas so as to attract tourists coming to Hong Kong.

The Royal Garden is a conveniently located and nice hotel. The staff is very attentive, the hotel itself offers a wide range of restaurants and has a nice rooftop pool with a view on the sea and a well equipped gym. The rooms and especially the bathrooms were very clean and stuffed with necessary amenities.

The rooms are clean but the room was a bit run down already and some restorations are necessary. E.g. the curtains have holes, the wood has many scratches. So some polishing would be nice. Moreover, the view in the lower located rooms is not very nice if your room is located above the main entrance.

We very much enjoyed our stay and I wish I had spent more time at the rooftop pool and exercise room. It was well appointed and the spa style washroom with steam room, sauna, and special showers made me feel pampered. Our room had an Oceanview and the breakfast buffet was over the top with loads of choices. Prime location for exploring all Hong Kong has to offer. We walked to the Star ferry, the harbour light display and a night market from the hotel. Cheap transportation to and from the airport is the A21 or A225. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

The feather pillows were a nice but not our preference. Housekeeping quickly accommodated us with two other choices of pillows once I called.

The property was big and offered a variety of restaurants to choose from. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the lady at breakfast Becky was very cheerful and welcoming.

The only thing that we didn’t quite like was that then my husband had ordered a full a Beijing duck at the restaurant we got only the skin. Maybe it’s a particularity of this specific restaurant, but since he had been in other places in China, he has not encountered such a phenomenon. First the manager wanted to give us 20 % discount, but at the end agreed to remove the duck altogether.

We liked the location close to the waterfront, with a short walk to the Star Ferry. We booked one family room and were pleasantly surprised to be provided with two adjoinng rooms with an interconnecting door. Made our stay very spacious. Interior of the hotel is pretty, especially the atrium about the 5th floor. Very good buffet breakfast.

The connections from the airport were simple but time consuming. We had lots of luggage so a train and metro ride was impractical. The A21 bus was good and frequent and has good facilities for storing bags onboard but took a long time in traffic. Don't forget to buy an Octopus card if picking up public transport from the airport!

The Royal Garden is conveniently located in the heart of Tsimshatsui East within easy walking distance of the MTR, the harbour front and shopping areas. The staff are uniformly polite and helpful. We were especially impressed by the attendants at the Crown Club (Teresa, Sharon and Kit).

The entrance to the hotel is usually crammed with vehicles which inhibit pedestrian access and parts of the lobby seem to be used for storage of luggage. These somewhat detract from the generally high class feel of the place.
