Mercure Hotel Saarbrücken Süd

Very good choice for breakfast, served in a bright room facing the swimming pool - brightens your day. The room was standard but well maintained and clean. Although the internal restaurant closes on Sunday, there's a very good alternative across the road.

Pillows - too fluffy, little support. Maybe we could have asked for a change or addition to reception. Of course, this is all subjective.

The hotel is very close to the French-German border. Close to the freeway but far enough from all the noises. There's a big parking area and parking is free. The swimming pool is basic, but it's very nice to be able to take a dive on a warm day. The woman who was working in the restaurant during breakfast was really nice and friendly.

There was no air-conditioning or a fan, so it was a little bit warm in the room. Even with the window open.

1. When we arrived in our room it was way too hot but the reason I chose the hotel was because it has air conditioning. When I talked to the front desk about it they were saying that there wasn't anything they could do about it because the outside temperature was cooler than the inside. Throughout the night we were forced to open the window since the air conditioning wasn't working.

This hotel is wonderful. Rooms were requested close together and there was an interconnected door which was perfect. Rooms were a great standard, nice and modern and staff very helpful. Big car park and McDonalds and Petrol station next door which was helpful when we set off at the end of our stay. Would highly recommend this hotel we will be staying here again when travelling through Europe.

we like the fact that we didn’t have to pay upfront and we were greeted with friendliness even though we went to the wrong Hotel the chap there contacted the other Hotel to let them know that we were on our way

Room as well as bathroom were spacious. It was furnished in simple manner, nothing too fancy. Bed very comfortable, I also got a few extra blankets just in case. The hotel is quickly accessible from the highway, parking very convenient. Staff helpful and nice. There's a McDo and an Italian restaurant nearby to get some quick evening meals.

There's nothing too fancy about the location. This is really a great place to stay only while travelling.

Great stop-over after a long journey. Comfortable room, helpful staff, delicious and good-value buffet supper and easy parking.

It’s right on the site of a Nazi torture camp with a very informative memorial area right next to it. Once we had visited that, it seemed quite wrong to use the swimming pool, one of the hotel’s attractions!

Excellent value for money for a stopover stay. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, got a really good night's sleep. The nearby Barbarossa bakery is excellent for breakfast, eat in and takeaway. Also a really nice park nearby.
