Excellent view, spacious rooms, good amenities, expansive breakfast, good staff, vallet parking, comfortable beds, Internet and complimentary minibar... Even offered bottles of water on departure, very caring gesture. All round an excellent experience confirmed by someone with a Diamond level of HiltonHonors.

Dinner restaurant is hugely overpriced, especially given a mediocre taste and rather limited portions. We had to go out on the 2nd night to avoid a disappointment again. Only one guest lift/elevator would be a huge bottleneck during high season, poorly equipped gym and quite uncomfortable pillow (no choice was given). But, hey - nobody is perfect as far as all hotels go...

Nice converted old monastery with charm. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food is excellent. Parking next to the hotel. Lovely lakeside views from the terrace and from our room.

The only thing that lets the property down is the proximity to the train line and to the party zone of Constance. We got noise throughout the day from the trains every 15 mins or so and at night the disco boat beat was a pain. You need good ear plugs.

Beautiful hotel in an old monastery with a spectacular view of the lake. Spacious rooms and spotless cleanliness, with polite and friendly staff. Good breakfast, and the minibar was included.

Staff were always friendly and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable, but it was pretty clear they were a little understaffed most of the time.

My de luxe single room was delightful with a wonderful view of the Lake. The staff were extremely helpful in every respect. The hotel breathes history and it is easy to imagine its past via the wall frescoes.

For those of us who do not speak German, but do speak many other languages, it is a pity that no effort was made to translate the tour of the building from German into at least one other European language.

We spent 3 weeks at Steigenberger Inselhotel and would happily stay there again. The location of and the views from this hotel are unbeatable, whatever the weather! The breakfast buffet is excellent and eating outside is an amazing way to start the day. We had a 3rd floor room with a balcony which was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The history of the building is incredible, and the frescoes detailing some of that history give a lovely feel to walking through the corridors. The openness of the hotel is wonderful - fresh air blowing through the building and a lovely grassy central courtyard. The staff throughout were friendly, considerate and keen to help - a special mention to Nicola Pinkwart who was as helpful, efficient and entertaining in person as she had been online when I was planning our trip.

There wasn't any milk for coffee in the room, either powdered or fresh. The lift would benefit from an upgrade. Not being able to sit in the outside dining area unless there was a meal being served was disappointing. We sat there once just because it was such a lovely spot and were told we couldn't. Walk in showers should be available in all rooms, particularly as the clientele tends to be older.

Well furnished, excellent food, beautifully maintained property, exceptional helpful and personable staff throughout. Very comfortable beds. Quiet. Steigenberger runs wonderful hotels. This is fourth Steigenberger in which I have stayed.

No comments. I loved this property. I only wish I was there when I could eat outside on the terrace and swim in the lake on the private beach

Location! Unbeatable! You have to get a room with 'sea view' though ;-) Breakfast was excellent. Get a table at the window! The building, an old monastery, is impressive! Check out the paintings in the cloister!

We had two mattresses in a nice double bed with small canopy; both were different (one soft, the other hard). Only at the end of our stay did I find out that I could have asked to have these mattresses changed! .... learnt something for next time!

The location was superb and the terrace facing the lake was very very special. We were seated at breakfast outside on this terrace and enjoyed the gorgeous view. Breakfast was very good and plenty as well!

The hotel has a special history as monastery and the archway was still there. Unfortunately not much else of the historic charm remained in the fairly modern interior design.

Great location. Helpful staff who catered to your needs. Wonderful lake view breakfast with omelettes made to order. Nice room with a big walk-in closet for storing suitcases. Mini-bar is inclusive (beer, water, juice, chocolate). Was able to rent decent city bikes at the hotel for €6. Would recommend.

Too big of chairs in room made it difficult to maneuver near the window.

The hotel was beautiful and is a great location on the lake between the old and new towns of Konstanz. There are many original features showing the former life of the hotel. The room was good and had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast provided plenty of choice in a lovely room overlooking the lake. I’d recommend a walk to the old town to eat. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly - we were told tourists didn’t tend to visit the old town in the evenings but the food and bars were great.
