Hotel Halm Konstanz

The reception staff and breakfast staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel lobby is beautiful and the breakfast room is elegant. My room was comfortable with plenty of bathroom amenities which included hand sanitiser. The drains in the sink and shower worked well (which is not true in many hotels). The variety and quality of the breakfast buffet was impressive. The COVID measures throughout the hotel were thorough .I liked that I got off the train and just walked across the street to the hotel. Everything was in easy walking distance, also. My experience here was wonderful and I would happily return to stay here again.

I liked the location, right by the Bahnhof and close to both Altstadt and the harbour. We got room 412, which had a massive balcony and views of Bodensee. The hotel had extremely friendly staff, lovely and HUGE room albeit it lacked a Chromecast.

Small details like glasses of champagne that weren't there (I had ordered my girlfriend a bottle of sparkling wine on arrival in our room, yet housekeeping had not set out proper glasses). We also had a vase which we sadly broke, however staff didn't vacuum for glass shards - we did leave our room a bit messy so might also be our fault. No heating except heating lamp in massive bathroom. Welcome drink must be had by the reception.

My husband and I were traveling with our 3 year old, hence we needed a location that was central and convenient. The location of the hotel is just fantastic. Room is really spacious and quiet, despite it being right opposite the main station. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the mall is just right down the road. There are bus stops right opposite the hotel as well. The stay included bus tickets for the duration of our stay - was a nice touch! Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely be back.

The taps were old school, with 2 knobs - one for hot and the other for cold water. Was slightly difficult to control the temperature as the hot water was REALLY hot. There were also a few steps right at the hotel entrance, making it slightly inconvenient with the stroller but not too big of an issue. Lift was quite tiny.

Hotel gave us an upgrade to a suite with fabulous lake/harbour view, comfortable bed and excellent shower pressure, hotel located immediately in front of the rail station which was very handy, the hotel grand staircase and dinning room with it's arabinan designs was a sight to behold.

Nothing from the hotel , there was quite a bit of noisy roadworks outside , however this did not effect our room, it would have been nice to have had a kettle , though there was a fridge. Breakfast which was very good was not included in the price.

Personal 10+ and the Breakfast was delicious and many options to choose from. Bathtub clean and brand wellness products.

The room was for a couple..only 1 bottle of water and 2 different types of glasses.. It would be better if there were also a wine bottle and proper glasses. Also there is a minibar in the room but was empty. Check In is from 16:00.. and Check out is until 11.. oi if you are ealry in town...you need to have a walk.. No parking place, there is a privat one near the hotel and it costs 24 Euro for 24 Hours. Although the parking lot is clean, the entrance is not locked and there were beggars at the toll booth.

Front desk girl at check-in was extremely friendly, room was big with high ceilings and nice lighting and a terrace enclosed by tall bushes for privacy, mini bar was well stocked and cheap, shower heads were really cool, TV was well positioned with good quality, the room smelled nice, had air conditioning, bed was comfortable, bathroom was extremely clean, breakfast buffet was really well done and started early and finished late. Was offered a late checkout without having to ask. I got the feeling like the owners/managers really know what they are doing.

I asked the person who checked me out if I could leave my bag there for a moment and she directed me somewhere up the street but didn't really give clear directions and kind of rushed me off, and I never found it. Was quite annoying since my bag was heavy. So if u are looking to store a bag ask someone to show you where it is.

Our room on the top floor had a beautiful view of the lake. The staff was very friendly and polite. The hotel has a very nice design. There is AC in the room. The choice of food at breakfast is ok.

Only one negative thing: you are asked the day before to decide when you would like to have breakfast (7-8h, 8-9h, 9-10h etc) and then you get seated at a table of their choice. It kills the spontaneity a bit, which you would not expect for the rather expensive breakfast. Otherwise everything was fine.

Halm has a great location opposite the station and an old-world feel about it with keys for rooms still and windows you can actually open. I really like those features. There’s no trip back to reception for room cards that don’t work! Have stayed here several times. Staff friendly. If you want modern, book the newly renovated Alte Post next door. My hotel of choice in Konstanz if it has free rooms.

Nothing really. Breakfast is quite expensive there- 18 euros I believe. I found a lovely cafe overlooking the lake. Plenty of places to eat.

Location was excellent, and first impressions of reception and staircase have a wow factor.

Standard rooms were very warm and no aircon meant very hot at night. Also every other hotel we have booked on our trip included breakfast which the Halm did not and was very expensive to add on. so we didn't bother. Also parking was off-site in a public space and again expensive at 24 euros for the night.

The hotel is well located directly opposite the railway station and bus stops. However it also had the benefit of being quiet. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpul, and although we arrived before the room was ready they issued the Konstanz card so we could go out sightseeing and use public transport. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a separate small lounge area, and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom was well equipped and had everything we needed including useful bench space. The breakfast was a good continental offering, with plenty to choose from. The breakfast room was comfortable and not crowded. The location is great - convenient to transport, adjacent to the lake and on the edge of the old town. We would be happy to stay here again.
