Holiday Inn Express Friedrichshafen, an IHG Hotel

24/7 check in. We were traveling from The Netherlands to Italy and decided to stop for the night. We arrived at around midnight and the manager on duty Mrs. Marija was really friendly and helpful. She made the check in go smoothly with a tired kid waiting to get to bed. The room was clean not really big but it was only for one night so it was perfectly fine. For breakfast there was a variety of things to choose from and there was even a pancake machine to the delight of the kid. Again the staff was really helpful and product for people with a lactose intolerance available.

The stay was bit overpriced since the next day was New Year. A very sweet lady who manages the House Keeping team helped us to switch the rooms since we had a kid and did the arrangement for another room with large bed. She came along with us to the reception and did all help until we settled down which I have not experienced so far in Europe. The room and bathroom were kept cleaned and maintained. The breakfast was pretty good and had different choices. We stayed on the 4 floor and the Sunset/Sunrise view were stunning with a chain of Mountains in the backdrop.

I felt that the price was spiced up just for the Xmas/New Year break as its not even half the price for the following days or week.

The staff is amazing and willing to help with any problem, breakfast was delicious and included in the price, rooms were clean and very comfy, great bathroom... for a short stay ideal. Free parking as well! The location is a bit further from the center but if you have a car that's not a problem. There are gas stations and shopping stores few mins away by car so you can do your shopping.

The parking outside can get a bit crowded, sometimes it's hard to find a spot. But the staff helps with that too :)

the AC worked perfectly; we could regulate the temperature in our room very well which was great during the hot weather days. Parking was free, which was great! Breakfast wasn’t too elaborate but very tasty - some things they had each morning, while varying between pastries every morning. Room was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Friedrichshafen is located at the center of the Bodensee which makes any day trip under 2 hours (usually between 20 min and 1,5 hours) whether it’s to Konstanz, Meersburg, Lindau, Mainau, Switzerland, Austria or Liechtenstein. Plus Friedrichshaven is a very nice town with lots to do and see!

I didn’t expect this to be there, but having a mini bar (not necessarily filled, just something to keep our own drinks/foods cool in) would’ve made the stay even better.

Very nice hotel with a large, comfortable air conditioned room. Free parking onsite. Vending machine with a good selection of drinks and a free to use ice maker was appreciated in the hot weather. Very nice breakfast selection. Bus stop outside giving easy access to station and harbour.

Did not like the juice at breakfast. Although the machine had a good selection they tasted very weak and watery. Buses stop early so taxi back or walk if staying out in the evening.

Our room was very well appointed in terms of bedding pillows and towels. it was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Public transport was at the edge of the property so we could take a bus downtown and not have to worry about driving if we had a drink. There really wasn’t much that we saw close by for restaurants. Our hotel was handy to the highway. The staff was very helpful especially Barb. Breakfast was included and was quite good. Disappointed that we weren’t able to park inside. Be sure to book parking when you book your room as it is limited.

The hotel itself is in an area that seems like it might be an industrial area. It is handy to the highway but away from restaurants, at least we didn’t find any. Parking is very limited indoors… Outdoors it is easily accessible and plentiful.

Good hotel but not for long stays. Good position no so far from city center. Parking near hotel. Kind personal.

Missing storage cabinet You must request the missing vanity set, which is standard in other hotels, at reception. Missing more hot meals for breakfast (just boiled eggs and pancakes)

Good breakfast. Room was clean. As the hotel is on the outskirts of the town and quite new it had adequate parking at no extra cost which is always great.

Bathroom was a bit small and the washbasin placed very high, so not practical for a 5 year old child.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of options. Room was spotlessly clean. Free parking was appreciated.

Location of hotel was disappointing as it was further from the centre of the town than I was expecting having looked at the location when I booked.

Very good breakfast. Perfect position to travel around the lake. A special thanks to Norbert, the nocturn guardian, who gave us perfect suggestions about places to visit,and make we feel like home all the time.
