Holiday Inn Express - Erlangen, an IHG Hotel

- comfortable beds - clean in the rooms -as requested, we got rooms directly next to each other

- no mosquito net on the window, after opening it, a swarm of tiny flies flew into the room - a small number of staff at breakfast does not give advice to supplement the missing food or cutlery - no green tea at breakfast -upon arrival, the gentleman at the reception informed us that we can park behind the hotel or in the garage, he only forgot to say that the parking lot outside does not belong to the hotel and is paid separately, and the information about it is only in German (how was I supposed to understand it, since Mr. receptionist and I communicated in English?) -one set of towels missing in the room

Amazing location, within 5 min reachable from the highway. Our car was to tall to fit in their garage, but there is affordable public parking available right next to the hotel. The hotel is very big, modern, and clean. The breakfast was amazing and for dinner we took a stroll to the center (5min walk) which is filled with nice little restaurants. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the beds are comfortable.

We stated on the reservation that we are travelling with a baby, so we need a cot. Unfortunately there was only an extra bed when we arrived. After asking the reception about it, they seemed not too happy that they now have to look for cots (as cleaning service who usually does this was already gone). But after half an hour or so they brought us the cot, so all was good. Next time I will just make sure to check about it before we arrive.

I enjoyed my staying at the Holiday Inn Erlangen. The facilities were very satisfying the rooms were very clean and relatively spatious and the wifi very strong and covered my needs. I can say that this was one of the greatest breakfast services I've ever enjoyed in my whole life. It had pretty much everything, tasty and in quantities

One thing that initially annoyed me was the sound of the trains, but I was expecting this. I have to say though that I slept well, so it wasn't really a problem

Clean, comfortable bed

Staff at the reception wasn’t very helpful. We arrived around 8 pm and asked the lady at reception make the invoice for the company as we were on a business trip. We provided the details but in the morning as we were leaving the hotel the receptionist gave as the invoice which was made out on my name . When I asked him to change the invoice he just replied it’s too much hassle to introduce all the details in the computer. I don’t understand how changing the name on the invoice was so difficult for him.

I really liked the uncomplicated and flexible check-in and check-out. I appreciated also the central location of the hotel and the very kind staff. Last but not least, I think the facilities were minimalistic, but comfortable and meet our expectations.

It was a little bit difficult to get a good sleep. If we had closed the window and used the air conditioner, the noise of the air conditioner would have been too loud. That's why, we preferred to sleep with an open window in the night due to the heat, but unfortunately, sometimes people outside talk loud with each other. However, from midnight onwards it was most of the time very calm.

I loved the breakfast, good people from the service and the wifi was pretty good. The location was centric, very close to neu market and relatively close to the train/bus station. I was able to find restaurants of all kinds and supermarkets nearby.

In the room, you may find yourself with a little humidity in the environment. Nothing to worry about, but I think that the ventilation from the room could be improved by a extractor or they could place a dehumidifier in the room.

The hotel is in a great location, just a few steps away from downtown Erlangen. The room was comfortable, breakfast was great and plenty. The hotel bar and outside patio were great. What made the hotel exceptional was the friendliness of the staff who made us feel like home. We will definitely come again.

The room cleaning staff could further improve and pay more attention to missing things like toilet paper. A small refrigerator in the room would make it perfect.

Fantastic breakfast. Great location, able to walk into the local town in a few minutes. Parking is under the hotel and feels very safe. Staff are really good, receptionist when we arrived and breakfast staff were great.

There was only one large towel in our room, same in my daughters room, so I'm guessing this is the norm! Would expect to bath towels for 2 people per room. Couldn't be bothered to ask for another.

Super clean rooms except the floor carpet was kinda dirty. Breakfast was exceptional. Rooms were very nice and the whole hotel was high tech and clean. Quiet room even facing the main road and train tracks.

Gay flag on the front door was very offensive provided I was traveling with two teenagers. To promote homosexuality is not ok in a place of business. To find out where to park with a car to check in is challenging. Can’t park in the garage until you have a room key. Received many long useless emails before arriving.

The overall stay was comfortable. The reception staff was helpful with bookings for taxis. The bar staff was good with their services. The staff were helpful and polite at all times.

Not much protein choice in breakfast. Sausages were repeated everyday. The bed was not made on many days even though the bathroom was cleaned on those days.
