Mercure Hotel Dortmund Centrum

The location is great - just outside buzzing central area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were had good size bath and decent shower. There was a nespresso machine with 4 coffee capsules in the room. We were allowed to check-in slightly earlier and to leave the bags for a couple of hours after check out without any fuss. The check in/check out was super quick. We didn't have any breakfast in the hotel - there were lots of lovely coffee shops around which were open even on Sunday morning.

Avoid room 303- it was just outside the lift. The other rooms were in the long corridor. The noise was such as if everyone was walking through our room.

Location was super, litteraly 2 min walking from the center, the hotel looked clean and taken care of just as the rooms. There was a bath and shower and heatlight in the bathroom and everything was clean. It's perfect if you spend a weekend in Dortmund and want a nice stay that is not over the top luxurious but has good value for money. Defenitly would go again no doubt.

Only downside is the parking. The hotel warned us that they dont have much parking space and already recommended a parking garage wich was 8 min walking from the hotel. But that's all

The room is spacious and well designed, both the room and bathroom were very clean, excellent bedding quality, very comfortable beds. Perfect location in the city center, easy to move around without using any public transport.

The room was cold when we got there and we had to turn the heating on which is not so nice for a cold winter's day. The staff in the night shift didn't speak English so it was difficult to communicate. I got charged some additional sum on check out which they were not able to explain what for.

Location and staff at reception, especially Greta. she is lovely and very helpful!

Internal organization: - I forgot a lady’s shirt in the room. I wrote an email directly to the reservation department (the only email address I had) and I never received the answer. Surely it was stolen, because I realized the situation the same evening I made a check out. - for the second reservation I also wrote to a reservation department about interconnected rooms and the same - no answer at all and the reception was not informed about it. Thanks to Gerta it was resolved. - now money were charged twice!! from my credit card for 1 week stay and now I’m waiting for the call back. hope will receive it.

Very friendly and helpful staff, I have to say they made this hotel for me. The hotel is very clean we had a very spacious room. The bathroom has two option of shower heads brilliant idea. The variety of food at the breakfast was very good.

WiFi kept dropping even got the lovely staff at reception to log us in but it would only last a few minutes and we would have to log back in again. It might be where our room was the signal didn’t get that far (rooms area 1000) it’s not a dislike about the property but something the property would need to look at.

The location was perfect, in the center of the city near the main shopping streets and restaurants. Breakfast was very good and with great variety. The real benefit was the staff, extremely helpful, kind and with a smile. Good job.

The so called gym at the hotel is located in a really small and smelly room underground.

The hotel was downtown, our room was clean, the lobby was beautiful und the Check in stuff was very polite.

Only the way till our room, it was a way to long.

Rooms were a fantastic size, very clean and modern. Beds were super comfortable. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location was great too, a 1-2 minute walk to the Christmas markets and the train system.

The decor of the hotel and the overall Aesthetic were great, nice bar area and lobby.

Our only issue was with the heat of the beds even with the AC on as we slept we still found it was a little bit too warm.

Fruhstuck was wunderbar. everything was excellent, food was complete. lots of offerings. kids loved it and the price / value ratio is excellent. definitely a great option. also the location is awesome. 200m away from restaurants and the center.
