Alpenhotel Kronprinz

Room facilities were very good; wonderful views from the room; all the staff from the lovely lady owner/maitre d'hotel to the lady who cleaned our room, were attentive and helpful despite language differences; and the room and the whole hotel very clean and attractively presented. The food was good and the bircher muesli at breakfast is the best anywhere!

We have been to the hotel before and as well as the reasons given at 3 above, we particularly liked the friendly relaxed atmosphere of the bar which we liked to use at the end of the day and sometimes eat there in a more informal setting. It was one of the key reasons for picking this hotel again but we were very disappointed to find out on arrival that it had been closed for 2 months for repair work.

Great staff at the reception -very kind and helpful. The breakfast was really good in terms of quality and taste. Just few kilometers from the main attractions like Koenigsee, Salt mine etc but you can already get a glimpse of mount Watzmann from the hotel restaurant’s window itself (or the rooms depending on the side you are offered)

The room had some kind of ‘not so pleasant’ smell. The beds were not comfortable or atleast I find it a bit stiffer than what I am used to. There was no hot water kettle or tea bag’s in the room. Not sure if that is a rule because last year I stayed in a different hotel in the same location and they didn’t have it either!

The view from the balcony was magnificent. Room very spacious and comfortable - with two arm chairs. The breakfast was typically German. Plenty of cold meats and cheeses, along with cooked choices. Fruit, cereals, patisserie and choice of bread rolls. We ate in the restaurant on two nights. There is a huge selection of burgers along with more traditional dishes. You could have as much or as little as you liked. The hotel is situated about a ten minute walk from the town centre, which makes it a very peaceful location. There were plenty of footpaths around to take you into town or elsewhere.

Nothing really. We didn't visit the spa area, as we couldn't find it - but maybe that was our fault.

We found this to be an excellent hotel...integral car park, friendly and efficient staff, spacious and comfortable room, plentiful and delicious food - we had dinner and breakfast both were excellent. The location is very well planned - book a table for dinner on the terrace - there is a beautiful outlook... Enjoy the walk into the town centre

We didn't encounter any negatives...we chose the hotel from the associated photos and location - neither disappointed.

Excellent stay in hotel. As British people moving through, it was a traditional authentic German hotel and they were super accommodating of our lack of German. The evening reception staff were lovely and couldn't do anymore for us and spoke exceptional English. We got a free upgrade to a balcony room as it was our honeymoon with a mountain view which was stunning. It has a great spa set up, which was practically empty. Breakfast was good. Parking was incredibly easy in their underground car park.

Very friendly staff, underground parking (we were on motorbikes), available last-minute and had a room with a balcony and great view of the mountains. Fantastic location for seeing Berchtesgaden. If you're going up to the Kehlsteinhaus and don't have your own transport, the bus station is a 10 minute walk down the hill.

Breakfast wasn't spectacular. For vegans, it's basically only coffee and bread rolls with jam. Just adding some non-dairy milk for cereal would be a big improvement.

The staff are friendly and helpful, Anna and Kopi in the restaurant! Great location, beautiful scenery, the food OMG to die for, so so delicious! Could not recommend this place more and hope to return. If you're staying in Berchtesgaden you must stay here or you'll be missing out!

The only thing that would be better is that if there was a double bed rather than two singles pushed together but the beds were still comfortable!

Great views and the staff was exceptional.

The bathroom with the bath tub and old fashioned shower. I find these bathrooms to be dangerous because of getting in and out of the bath tub to take a shower. Also it is not properly enclosed causing water to spray in the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and spacious but I think it would be a better idea to remove the tub and just put in a modern shower.

The amenities at the hotel were excellent. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant and the bar was very good. The view from our room was great and the view from the restaurant was just exceptional. If I was to stay here again, I would ask for a front room with a balcony. We were in the back side corner so there was a lot of noise from truck deliveries.

The noise in the mornings from deliveries. Understand that’s required for any place with a restaurant and bar, but I would ask for a different room in the front next time.

Excellent location. Place was old fashioned and a proper Bavarian experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. The view from the mountain view room (which we got a free upgrade for) are incredible. The food in the restaurant is really good. Very big portions too. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be coming back.
