Plaza Madeleine & Spa

The location, just on the edge of the historical centre, is outstanding. The decor is stylish and welcoming. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good variety of breakfast items.

The basic room is tiny, as is the bathroom. There is barely enough room for two people and their suitcases. The warm section of the breakfast wasn’t very. The spa is not really a spa, merely a sauna and a hammam. The parking garage is off-site, at a 15 minute walk with awkward spaces. That is manageable, as you walk across the historical centre to get there, but the hotel is not accessible by car at all - not even for a few minutes to load or unload luggage - on market days, of which there were four (!) during our one-week stay. This should be mentioned on the hotel’s website, not just sent by email after booking.

Excellent staff, brilliant location (100m from the Main Street for cafés, restos, boutiques and cathedral. Loved the steam room and swimming pool after a day's walking. And there is a really amazing chef in the kitchen who made me a vegan delicacy each morning. I suggest treating yourself and upgrading to the Exec twin with terrace and loads of natural sunlight.

i thought our room with a pool view was too dark and the lighting in the room too subtle. My Aunt had to use her mobile torch in the wardrobe area to distinguish dark coloured clothes. Hence the upgrade to natural sunlight.

staff were excellent and extremely helpful, location was excellent. breakfast was very good. Terraces we’re nice and the spa area was very pleasant. Bar was lovely. Room was lovely and spacious.

Bed was a little bit hard. The hotel’s Parking is the other end of the Main Street about 500m away so makes taking luggage more difficult. The sink in the bathroom made it very difficult to wash without getting water everywhere. I prefer a bedside table with a drawer, and the hanging rail was open and not very big, not encouraging you to stay long.

Lovely clean hotel, not far to walk to the centre for restaurants and shops . Staff were friendly and helpful, our room was spotless and bed was comfy. Good breakfast

When we had our window open it was noisy early in the morning with bin men and contractors and gardeners. The road directly below is busy most of the time! It didn’t bother us that much but may bother some people

Great location walking distance to everything in the old town. Free parking 5 minute walk away. Excellent staff that were friendly and helpful with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. Nice bar and restaurant lounge. Sauna, steam room and hot tub were a nice bonus. Comfy bed, modern decor, well insulated room was very quiet.

Our room was a bit small, but that was our choice as you can pay more and get a bigger room.

The overall quality and location of the hotel was excellent. The facilities that were additional for example the spa were a very nice bonus. The bar/restaurant was very good.

The room temperature controls didn't seem to control the heat in the room very well. The window had to be open for the room to be a comfortable temperature. The size of the bathroom was very small especially the toilet cubicle.

From the moment we were greeted by Remi at the front desk we knew we were in good hands. He went out of his way to help us with whatever questions we had. David, the manager, has prepared an excellent team throughout the hotel.

location is perfect

modern and beautiful bathroom but the tube is unsafe, bottom is not anti slippery and no rubber mat is provided, wall does not have a holding bar. That make taking a shower very dangerous for senior. So many details have been done to make the stays very pleasant, it is curious that safety issue were missing.

rooms were very clean and had good facilities. The pool area was very pleasant and the pool itself was lovely. the location was perfect- right in the centre of the old town. Breakafsts were full of variety and staff were very helpful

The bar was understaffed so it took a long to get drinks or bar snacks

A comfortable, well-designed hotel. Excellent breakfast. Caring, efficient and courteous staff. Particularly helpful Receptionist Gaëlle.

Nothing about the property, but a dispute with Booking.com over double payment cast something of a shadow.
