Campanile Poitiers

Requested ground floor room as travelling with a wheelchair. Not accessible room, so cannot comment. Ground floor rooms easy to access with the wheelchair, ramp down long but not too steep. Shutters on the outside of the rooms meant total blackout inside. Staff incredibly helpful at every opportunity. We booked dinner on day of arrival, and when we came up to eat, a table for 4 had been assigned for the 3 of us, with one chair already removed to account for the wheelchair - v impressed. Staff very respectful and went out of their way to support us, strong levels of English across the board.

Arriving / departing from the hotel. It is difficult to see the entrance to the drive, the curbs are not dipped so there is a bump to drive in and down, and if you miss the turning in, there is a fair amount of driving around the block to try again. The Accueil / Restaurant is a separate building close to the road, the rooms are further down, which was a little difficult with a wheelchair.

Continental breakfast generally very good. I had a disabled room because I asked for ground floor, and it was more spacious with a larger wet room. The staff are all very good and helpful.

When I was previously in a top floor room, I found the stairs uneven and difficult. Evening food is very simple (pre-prepared and microwaved). You might have to ask for it to be re-heated.

Comfortable bed, hot shower, lots of plugs especially by the bed , black out blinds good .. price!

Small Dead flies on the counter top.. told us it hadn’t been used for a while and not checked before we went in.. and the extraction fan next to the bathroom was on all night.. we did complain .. she apologised but said she couldn’t do anything about it.

The location was good next to the N910. A friendly welcome. The receptionist was extremely helpful with advise on the general strike planned for my leaving day. The waiter was chatty friendly and helpful with the dishes and the wine selection.

It was dark in the room even with all the lights on I suspect the large circular glass item on the wall was a light that did not work.

The room was not recently renovated, but impeccable clean, the beds were good. The receptionist was really nice, friendly and competent. We arrived late, that was not a problem at all. The parking lot was 15 meters from out room, fantastic. I'd also like to note that this place is good for people in a wheelchair.

We were perfectly happy.

Room and bathroom very clean and comfortable. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was continental but plenty to choose from.

Only negative there was no fridge in the room which when you are travelling would have been a bonus for keeping food and drinks cool. There was plenty of room to put a small one. However another Campanile hotel I stayed in didn’t have a fridge either like most other hotels I have stayed in. Shame.

Basic accommodation but spotless, wonderful staff, and great food. I couldn’t give it a high enough rating for the convenience and welcome. Thank you, I hope to see you again soon.

Location was perfect for our travel needs. Dogs allowed which is very important. Large supermarket within walking distance along with other shops.

Could do with some English channels on TV.

Convenient to motorway system

Cost, plus taxes, makes it more of an upmarket hotel but the facilities are most Travel Hotel. Breakfast was too pricey, although the choice was good.

The standard of room at Campanile hotels is not luxury but it is a good quality and great for our needs.

This is one of the older Campanile Hotels so obviusly does not match the standard of the newer hotels. This Hotel does however reach the standard required by most travelling customers.
