Holiday Inn - Bordeaux-Merignac, an IHG Hotel

Everything was new and state of the art. Very comfortable bed with excellent air conditioning.

Very difficult to find as it did not come up on the self drive car nav system or on our Apple system. The quoted address did not register. I got an address from a young local for the road Chemin de Phare . The sign for the hotel was very small but the local was correct and I did find the hotel. We first went to the old Holiday Inn which is registered and they kindly gave us the quoted address which failed. This problem should be rectified immediately.

Breakfast was very nice with a lot of choice, the rooms were very spacey, and the hotel seemed brand new to us. We once dinned at the restaurant and the food was excellent for a correct price. We had dinner on the teras. The location of the hotel was easy to reach and visit the area. A separate building for parking with 6 levels above ground and spacey parking spaces. I stayed 7 days.

There were charging stations for electric cars, but the one of 150KWH had a connector type not fit for my car. The one which would work for 11/22KWH you had to install an app and register a bank card, but did not have my bank card reader with me, so could not register and use. Luckily I have a hybrid car. The length of the bed was a bit too short for me (2 meters long where I'm used to sleep in 2.10 or 2.20). During weekend the restaurant is not open at evening, the alternative 24/7 service is food which is heated up. The selection was not my type of food.

The breakfast was very good. Bacon, sausages, eggs, potatoes, croissants, coffee, cheeses, baguettes, juices. Crepes, fruit etc. All the things anyone would want. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Quiet. Friendly staff. Balconies are very good.

The location is a bit out of the way. Local bus service to the airport is excellent, frequent, fast and cheap (1.70 €). 5 minutes to the airport and then you connect to the LRT for one fare. Takes you downtown. No airport shuttle. Don’t let this bother you. It didn’t bother me. On public holidays (VE day) bus service is reduced. Taxi to airport is 16.60€. I didn’t find CNN International on TV.

The property had a wow factor because it’s so modern and new. The room felt luxurious and the beds were very comfortable - we even had a balcony in the room. It was exceptionally clean and the shower was amazing. It was really quiet at night so we had a good night’s sleep. The staff gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful. The pool area was perfect after a long day’s drive. It was very easy to get to from the motorway. It wasn’t close to any shops/restaurants so you can either drive out to find somewhere to eat or eat in the hotel restaurant.

The evening meal in the restaurant was nice but expensive. We expected a better quality for the price.

The hotel is in a perfect location for the airport and there is secure parking. The property is new, the rooms are spacious and the beds very comofrtable. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was very good (except for the coffee from the machine).

The balcony looks just awful and there is no point ot it - there is nowhere to sit and the view is completely blocked with this metal mesh stuff that covers the entire front. The room was quite stuffy, but the aircon helped. Opening the window is no good due to noise and mosquitos.

The hotel seems to be brand new and it is beautifully decorated. The room is spacious, it has elevators for travelers with big suitcases and the shower is good. There is also parking available without extra charge. Would definitely stay again on a future trip.

It is a bit far from the city, so I believe you do need a car to reach the hotel. Also, the room doesn’t have a refrigerator. Apart from this, the experience was very good.

All staff very polite, very clean hotel , nice expresso 😀, even the cleaners are very gentil , love it and I will return and pets accepts . Perfect 5 stars

Missing outside trash bin ( exemple: to walk with the pets is nice to have a bin for the dog’s poo) and have a Netflix app on the room tv , that’s the reason I give 9 , otherwise is 10 , 5 stars staff and hotel.

Very new hotel. Nice breakfast included. Free car park with charging facilities. Very good value. A good driving distance balance between vineyard on the Medoc and city center.

Hotel sign board is a bit small and blocked by trees. I missed the turn the first time driving there. The damp water pool outside car park is a source of mosquitoes.

Clean efficient , a very late flight late at night . Reception quick and efficient . Comfortable and spacious room , very comfortable bed . Black out curtains a d free parking

Could do with balcony furniture

Excellent location close to the airport, good for early flights and late arrivals. Beautiful new hotel, very comfortable rooms and beds, lots of sockets and plugs for phones, etc., coffee machine. Very friendly and motivated personnel. Served us dinner even very late at night after a late flight arrival.

In some rooms internet is too weak - surely this will be improved as the hotel is brand new.
