Campanile Bordeaux Ouest - Mérignac Aéroport

Friendly, helpful staff. Great dessert buffet -- we were travelling on my birthday, and I was able to sample three different types of chocolate cake (in my defence, I chose the starter +dessert option and missed out a main course).

The hotel was difficult to find. We were at the end of a trip, driving a hire car without sat nav, and had already got lost in central Bordeaux due to road works. In the end we asked for help at the reception desk of a different hotel and were given a beaming smile and a sketch map, which worked fine.

Hotel is easy access to Bordeaux Airport, staff very friendly and accommodating to requests for booking early morning taxi and changing the time when flight was cancelled. Super friendly receptionist and bar staff, thank you!

Kettle, tea and coffee provided in room but would appreciate more substantial cups to drink hot liquid out of. Tramline still being built for easy airport access from hotels so diversion around roads and many barriers make driving confusing, and walking on the rough ground uncomfortable ... wear walking shoes.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful, whole hotel area from reception to bedrooms was spotless. Dinner portions were very generous and food choice plentiful for both dinner and breakfast. checking out and ordering a taxi to airport was quick and efficient.

room 218's door did not close properly and had to be slammed which would be annoying for nearby rooms to hear. the main light also did not work, blown bulb? The temperature setting in rooms is not easy to set if at all adjustable? it seems to be controlled from the reception. No extra blankets are available. I tried to phone reception but could not find in room a directory to know which number to dial. No major issues, we still slept very well.

Good selection of food on the menu, the 3-course meal was good value as was the buffet breakfast. Location relative to the airport was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Their English was better than my French (even though I did make an effort!)

Carpet was a bit grubbyin places, needs to be deep cleaned. No milk in the room and there was also one broken light switch. Only one socket that I could see. I would like the option to have a bath as opposed to just a shower.

Most of the staff were very helpful especially printing off our boarding pass and advicing about the bus in Bordeaux. The room was very modern with a good shower. There was a good choice for breakfast, you could even squeeze your own orange juice.

We had a blocked sink and reported in morning. When we returned to the hotel in the evening it was still blocked and unusuable. Had to report again before it was sorted. Also pillows were lumpy and only one per person .

This hotel is convenient for the Airport and has a number of eating places in the vicinity. The rooms are well equipped and perfect for a one night stay before or after a flight. Very good quality sheets on the bed .

We really didn't like the very flat pillows. The bed itself was very comfortable but my sleep wasn't great because I am used to sleeping on much thicker pillows.

Comfortable room for the price and thankfully overlooking the garden/terrace rather than the tramway works at front. Pleasant staff at breakfast and really close to Merignac Airport. Lovely bathroom.

Better signage needed to define Campanile parking and entrance door as a budget hotel is on same site and it’s too easy to walk into wrong reception area after a long drive! Also, please provide real cups for the tea/coffee in the room - the disposable ones are so inadequate for hot drinks.

The staff were brilliant, we were late for breakfast but they made us a lovely platter of pastries and coffees before we set off in the morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable.

There were lots of roadworks outside as there were tramlines being laid, this did not disturb our stay though, it was just a little unromantic!

Room was clean and comfortable, corridor layout was quite spacious with a lift conveniently placed. Spacious bathroom with a large shower and well thought out.

Evening food was expensive and it was not very well explained what the different menus meant. The walk to the airport bus was around 100 mts over broken and uneven paths making pulling heavy cases awkward that would be worse in wet weather. Some hotels had mini buses picking up guests from in their hotel car parks.

Excellent stay at a convenient, comfortable, clean, quiet, well equipped hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. I would use this hotel again.

Roadworks in the whole area which affect all the hotels around the airport, and which made it a litle bit tricky to find the hotel in the darkness. The hotel can do nothing about this, and every other hotel around the airport will be affected in the same way.
