Hôtel Le Dauphin

The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly, very helpful, very polite. The view from our room and the balcony was stunning. Couldn't have wished for better. The coffee at breakfast was lovely.

Just a couple of minor tweaks could've made this excellent. The safety deposit box was broken, which wasn't ideal. The lady on reception did offer usage of the safe in the managers office. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It would've been idyllic to sit on the beautiful balcony with a coffee when getting up in the morning.

Returning guests. We love this hotel. The staff is very friendly and happy to have a quick chat when it's not busy. Rooms are a good size, modern bathroom and rainfall shower. There is a buffet for breakfast with freshly baked bread and pastries, fresh fruits, cured meat, cheese and cereal so something for all tastes. This year they also had the bistrot open for dinner and the quality of the food is very good and very fairly priced. Walking distance from the old town, pedestrian area, around 20min. There is small beach literally in front of the hotel, or a bigger one 5 min walk. Highly recommended.

The location is excellent for beach vacations. Beaches are nearby, the train station is a ~15-20 minute walk. So is the old town, but there are beaches that are even closer. The hotel room had a nice AC, so it was perfect to escape the afternoon heat for a nap and then return to the city in the evening. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean and it also got cleaned everyday. There was a rack to hang bathing suits and towels, which came in handy. The breakfast was good as well. For the price you get what you pay for and I would definitely come back again.

The only thing which was a little annoying was that you couldn't close the shower, so you had to be careful that you don't splash water everywhere. Also you could hear the street quite well in the night, if you are a light sleeper be aware of that.

The hotel is wonderfully situated near the centre of Menton, a short walk from the train station and other amenities. Of course, the best part is how close it is to the sea. I stayed in a room with a view of the sea and it was really lovely to have a small balcony. The room was clean and decently sized, with working air conditioning and a mini fridge. Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming.

I found the breakfast selection limited and repetitive. It was the same every morning. I would have liked to have a greater selection of cold meats and cheese, and maybe a better coffee machine.

Location by the sea was superb for my activities (swimming, walks etc), the personnel was mostly kind and nice, breakfast was adequate, the bed was good, balcony towards the sea (one could hear the sea murmuring)

The room itself defenitely would need some renovating (but I’ve understood that gradually the Hotel is going through renovating all the rooms), it would also be advisable to renew the window-doors to the balcony with a sound-isolated system (very busy street by the sea, had to wear earplugs in order to get some sleep - which isn’t very ideal)

We loved this wee hotel on the water! Lovely walks either direction. Our balcony had a palm tree right outside. Small beds but comfortable. Could not hear traffic below when sleeping. Breakfast was lovely. I’m gonna miss those croissants 🙁 We also had dinner and drinks often which was nice instead of going back into town. The lemon festival was fun if you come in February !!! All the staff were really nice too 👍👍

Lovely little hotel. The staff was so helpful and wonderful. The location was great, just about a 12-min walk from Menton train station. We had a view of the sea and it was so beautiful. The hotel is a little outside the main centre of Menton, but there are still restaurants and cafes within an easy walk along the beachfront.

Just to keep in mind that rooms facing the seafront also face the road, which was rather busy. We ended up closing the balcony door and turning on the A/C even though it was a mild evening because it the passing cars were too noisy.

The staff was really kind and the welcoming really nice! They spoke several languages very well (English, French, Italian) so the communication went smothly. They were really helpful. The room was bright and clean, the beds very comfortable and there was a stunning sea view and the breakfast really good with good coffee. I can really recommend this hotel!

There was nothing I didn't like, but some people may be sensible to the sound from the street below.

The staff (Sylvia in particular) were incredibly accommodating and helpful. They helped us with transport and navigating the local area, as well as dietary requirements. The room had a beautiful view straight out to the sea, and as it was quite rocky below, the sound of the waves was so calming.

We liked everything!

It’s a great place to stay! The staff are exceedingly helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is everything and more than you expected. The rooms are clean, comfortable, roomy and well decorated. We will return again.
