Holiday Inn Express - Bordeaux - Lormont, an IHG Hotel

•Safe parking • extremely sympathetic, helpful staff • very comfortable bed • great shower • new bathroom suite • kettle, iron & ironing board and hair dryer provided • cool, efficient & silent air conditioning- although a/c has to be requested at reception • quite adequate continental style breakfast.

One of the reasons for booking this hotel was because it was advertised as “no pets allowed”. This was confirmed at the hotel itself with, I quote “PETS - this hotel welcomes and accept guide dogs only”. The latter being displayed on their page on the room’s tv. Despite all the foregoing, I saw a guest check-in with a dog that was most certainly not a guide dog.

Staff was excellent, kind and supportive. The lady at the front desk even called us after we left for a city walk just to advice us on public transportation strike announced in the news at that moment (highly appreciated). The hotel was conveniently located for an overnight on our way to Spain (not too close to the city centre but with good public transportation connectivity). Hotel facilities were brand new, comfortable beds, room amenities, parking secure (fenced are besides the main building on the view of the hotel staff in the front desk) and a more than decent breakfast included in the price. All in all, good value for money.

Staff were all very polite, friendly, willing to assist, and professional. Cleanliness was exceptional. Breakfast was varied and plentiful even at the end of service. Room was light, airy, very spacious, very clean, well furnished and comfortable. There was a kettle with mugs, an iron and board and a good hairdryer. There is a small safe. We used the snack menu for two pizzas at 1.30am as we’d not eaten due to a concert, very efficient service. Parking is ample and secure. Location is quiet on the whole. We would return here.

Small negative in that unfortunately our safe didn’t work and although the staff were on to it, we had to leave to go to our concert. Another thing to bear in mind is that if you arrive back late then there will be no parking, sadly mainly due to selfish people who park badly? in two spaces.

Staff, staff, staff. From the cleaners to the front of the house to the restaurant - they were all genuine, helpful, and polite. Good sized modern bedroom. The shower was brilliant. Breakfast was good and the staff were vigilant and kept everything topped up. The other guests were professional and quiet. Security was good for both cars and people. A no hassle pleasant stay.

Signs to help drivers find the hotel as GPS had me going around in circles. It didn't have a tram stop nearby so it meant I drove to the Arena for a concert.

Location good for a stopover, facilities in the room excellent, plenty of sockets and kettle/hot drink facility. Bed lovely, lounge area pleasant, staff very helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast good though all cold. Walk to local restaurants not far.

Lack of it's own restaurant might be a disadvantage for some but it was only 10mins walk to a selection of places. Nice to do after a day in the car. Sat Nav took us straight to it but do look on Google earth before you go as I found it most helpful to know what the streets around looked like. We always put in the latitude and longitude coordinates for hotels which work much better than postcodes.

The staff in this hotel are fabulous, from Marion the manager to the reception staff and housekeeping. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I spent a week there on a business trip and was delighted with the service. The food served in glass jars! But it's actually quite good! My only complaint is the location, it's in a very quiet area with little local facilities.

Value for money. Excellent shower, comfortable bed, quiet. Breakfast included and good selection continental style. Friendly welcome from reception. Secure parking.

Area offered nothing, really is an overnight hotel stop. Had to park nearby to walk into the hotel to get the barrier code then back to the car to move it. Reception multitasking serving drinks/ snacks but at least refreshments are available.

Secure parking is a must for motorcycle riders. This had it and was perfect. Comfortable and clean rooms. Food available on site but not advertised by staff oddly? Service excellent. Coffee machine excellent.

Somethings I didn't like was the room service blocked the lift for 2 hours in the morning ? 😒 Breakfast was a little over stocked with sugary options. Difficult to find even with a sat nav.

Despite very short stay, I have managed to enjoy the place and its hospitality. The Check in process with Yann (sorry if misspelled the name) was smooth. Have been offered the participation/membership in IHG....what a sales man ;-) The room nice, clean , spacious , bed extremely comfortable. NOt lacking ironing facilities, working desk, coffee tray. Own and secured parking in front of hotel. Just two minutes ride from main highway. Breakfast rather simple but no complain. Check out process met all highest standards, extra points for kindest and smile of Marion.

Not the best signs and indication where hotel might be. Especially in the night, so giving three rounds around neighborhood.

This property is always a good value for money for an overnight stay when passing by Bordeaux. The 24h reception, the secure car parking place and the breakfast buffet are all very convenient for the guests.

No negative comment to share about the hotel. As it is the case in other hotels, your room placement may make a big difference in terms of noise. If you wish to sleep until late in the morning, make sure that your room is not next to the service room used by the room-cleaning personnel.
