Hotel Restaurant Santiago

A very friendly welcome when we arrived. Our room was very spacious and clean and overlooked the pool. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and tasty set up in a light airy room. We reserved a table for our evening meal served in a different dining room with bar. We were really impressed with the food and would highly recommend eating at the hotel. This was probably my favourite hotel on our road trip. It offers excellent value for money and the location was perfect for catching the return train to San Sebastián, well worth a visit.

Perfect location at the top of a hill so the views are amazing! It's a small hotel with only a handful of staff who were all very helpful. The room was a lot bigger than I imagined and was modern, comfortable and had a balcony. The breakfast was of a continental French style buffet, no hot food (as far as I know) but the quality was higher than most places and we enjoyed it. It has an outdoor pool though we didn't have time to use it unfortunately. As Hendaye is off the usual tourist track it was great value and whilst we only stayed one night, we would have happily stayed for the week!

We were on our way to the Netherlands and were looking for a hotel for one night. Booked via internet and we were very surprised, friendly staff, good dinner, nice and clean rooms, very comfortable bed and slept very well. We are going to Spain again at the beginning of July and will see if we can go to this hotel. In the area opposite the station is a nice bar with friendly staff and good service. Had a special request regarding a tapas board and this was done without any objection.

Nice hotel on the border between Spain and France. We were passing through on our trip to The Netherlands but we could easily stay a few days more. The hotel has an excellent restaurant with tasty local dished cooked to perfection. After a comfortable night in our modern and cozy room, the rich breakfast was a good starter of the continuation of our road trip.

The only thing we didn't like was that we had to continue our trip the next morning. We would have loved to stay longer!

Small hotel with very friendly, helpful staff, pretty gardens and a [small] pool. Restaurant was good value and exceeded expectations - wonderful seafood, gazpacho, other tapas as well as full meals. Nice setting to eat in, inside or out, and/or have a drink. Good breakfast and bar open pretty much all day. Large, very clean, recently refurbished rooms with seating areas, fridge and many rooms had a small terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. Large showers, spacious bathrooms, but be aware that in some rooms, the bathroom - and toilet - are kind of open plan to the bedroom! Great location on a hill minutes from both the SNCF and Euskotren stations and just a few metres from a bus stop with regular buses to Hendaye Plage or Irun direction. Lovely walk [c. 5km] from the train station, along the estuary/boardwalk/promenade, to Hendaye Plage where there are shops, reataurants etc. and you can get a boat to Hondarribia. Hendaye Ville with a more local feel, shops etc. is just 10/15 minutes walk from the hotel.

People should be aware that this is NOT in Hendaye Plage. We knew this and chose it for proximity to transport. Terraces are very narrow - you can't sit as a group on them but they were fine and there were lovely sitting areas in the garden around the pool.

Lovely host. Crisp clean room. Nice little balcony. Easy access to town centre. Restaurant served the most deliciously cooked fish! Close to station were able to easil;y walk.

Hotel room had no aircon and was warm to sleep in in October. What it must be like in the summer!! Staff in restaurant very friendly but a few small errors. The hotel is quite new. deserves the 3 star=s but the location is not that romantic.

Just a short walk up the hill from the busy main station, this place is a welcome oasis of peace and quiet. My room was huge and very well furnished, with a nice little balcony overlooking the lavender-fringed swimming pool and the mountains beyond. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and I had a nice meal at the small on-site restaurant. It’s not cheap to stay here (€122 a night) but the price is justified by the high quality of the rooms, the facilities and the setting.

A couple of very minor things like the top of the bath plug was loose and the pedal on the bin didn’t work properly.

The staff are all friendly and helpful. We were in a lovely, large, well equipped room: large comfortable bed, twin sinks, walk in shower, coffee machine, …. We made use of the excellent swimming pool. The buffet breakfasts are good value, the coffee really good. We have stayed here before and will return, it is highly recommended.

Not only the room were spacious it was very clean. Also, the food was extremely delicious and was cook by a young chef wit great kknowledge of cooking. The young lady serving our table, was extremely kind and helpful in translating the menu for us since they only had it French. We recommend to have the menu in Ingles and in Spanish. If you like a clean roomy room and a place to eat, this is the Hotel for you with underground garage. We din't try their breakfast.

This hotel is a gem. It gets the best rating of any hotel for this price I have ever stayed in. The staff are amazing and go beyond the norm to make your stay perfect. The food in the restaurant is amazing and the rooms are modern and spotless. Oh, and the continental breakfast is top notch! If you are going to do the Velodyssee then stay here. Safe underground parking and a few minutes from the start. What a hotel.
