Novotel Chartres

The common areas were really nice, very modern and with great entertainment for the family - table tennis, table football, gaming, play area as well as swimming pool. The restaurant and lounge area had a really nice design feel.

The restaurant was great, but the menu choice was a bit limited for evening meal and portion sizes were small for the salads and pasta considering the price (and the name 'Grande Salade'!). But tasty and the staff team were so friendly and service overall was brilliant.

Convenient location for overnight stopover with free secure parking. Availability of family rooms, swimming pool and children’s area make it family-friendly. Attractive decor in lobby and restaurant area of hotel. Comfortable bed. Good quality food in the restaurant both in the evening and for breakfast. Friendly staff.

Room felt a bit tired in terms of decor and the air con unit in our room didn’t work too well. Hopefully the rooms will be updated shortly to match the ground floor area.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we love it. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the whole hotel is spotless and has a warm welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, perfect after a very long drive. The bar is a lovely place to sit and the staff were excellent. What made it even better was the fact that the hotel advertises a restaurant and it is open, unlike other hotels which advertise a restaurant only to find that they are not open at weekends.

Nothing, everything was great.

The receptionist went the extra mile to ensure we were able to charge our electric car. The hotel was chosen specifically for its charging point, crucial for our journey to the South of France. I would suggest however that in view of the trend towards many many more electric vehicles on the road, the hotel or its chain should consider increasing the number of charging points and ensuring they are of the rapid kind.

Breakfast we excellent, great selection of hot and cold options, refreshed through out. Great Coffee. Friendly and courteous staff that want to assist. Rooms look like they have been refreshed recently. Car park more than big enough with secure fencing and gates. Excellent facilities, including table tennis and football tables for the kids.

They should improve the way they manage EV charging point. They are a Tesla destination charger. I sent a note asking for a confirmation. When I got there I was given a code to unlock the cable. I mentioned I was going to the city for a couple of hours and when I came back I found a BMW and Mercedes on the “ Tesla spot”. Asking at the reception they had no idea how to help and they didn’t know who they give the cose to. The hotel was great but if if you are a Tesla destination charger ( I booked it because of that) you nave to know how to manage it.

Hotel is dog friendly,so am I, but irresponsible dog owners should be educated to not leave their dogs unattended in their room !!! Dog was barking and howling until 22.30!! Staff offered to give us another room, but it is the dog owners who are at fault.

All of it. Exceptional and more than we had hoped for. Extra touches, clean, tidy and a few wow factors and I've stayed in a few hotels in my time. Non pretentious and somewhere with style which makes you comfortable. The restaurant was amazing, I'd travel there specifically for that! Quite a surprise in a good way. We'd had an awful day with another hotel and walking in there with such comfort, style, professionalism and ease of booking, arriving and being there.

Good location, very dog friendly plenty of grass to run them and they are welcome in the bar and restaurant. Rooms very clean, comfortable beds. Parking secure and very roomy.

We have stayed several times each year en route back and forth to Spain. On this occasion we found the very few bar and restaurant staff disinterested. We waited for 30 mins to get a drink at the bar and my warm G&T was served in a tumbler with no ice/lemon. Again in the restaurant the service was slow, poor and the staff a little surly. Such a shame, we will go again in the hope it was a one off and another victim of COVID, but the price is still the same and for one overnight it’s expensive, sorry. Their sister hotel in Narbonne however are spot on! Perhaps they should have a word with them!

We’ve stayed many times before and given mixed reviews. This time we were delighted to see the refurbishment going on, rooms very nicely done with carpets, new beds and furniture not to mention beautiful new bathrooms. The food was very good, still a little short on staff but a huge improvement 👏
