Best Western Plus Le Moderne

All the staff members are extremely kind and diligent. The breakfast is varied and all the food offered for that meal is of a high quality. The lady in charge of the breakfast is extraordinary helpful and friendly, as well as very clever. The room was very quiet and comfortable, so that every night during my stay there I had a good rest. This fact together with the excellency of the hotel in general made my stay in Caen more pleasant and profitable.

In the shower cabin there is no shelf to place the shampoo and conditioner flasks while taking a shower. That causes one to have to put them on the floor. I told the receptionist that the shower gel flask had run out of gel. Notwithstanding that, it was not filled up and therefore on the following day it was still empty.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located near a grocery store as well as some restaurants and public transportation. The hotel as well as the room was good. The breakfast was very nice. The hotel provided Chromecast, however it didn't always work. I appreciate that the hotel is considering environmental aspects such as providing shampoo/shower gel with in a refill bottle.

The wifi was not that good. Therefore also the Chromecast didn't always work. We figured that the wifi was better near the door and rather bad in the middle of the room (where the TV screen was placed). Also the room could be better sound proofed as we heard the bass of the bar next door in the evening. The pillows were a bit too thick for me personally and hurt my neck. Also the bed was so soft that in the morning there was a dent visible where we slept. However in conclusion, those points are not too bad. The stay was really OK in general.

Property location was amazing, it is small but the lobby is very nice and the breakfast had a great variety. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with this booking, especially for the price. It was a very safe town and super convenient. I would definitely recommend to a friend for the price & location.

The hotel is a little “dated” but they have made some modern improvements. Bathroom was just okay and the bed was a little uncomfortable.

The staff were great . Location is great ,bed so comfortable bathroom was clean and tidy we stayed 2 nights we were asked if we wanted house keeping to clean but declined. We had 2 bath and 2 hand towels so perfect for our 2 nights . Breakfast was good . Air conditioning was good .

You need to book 2 days before if you want car parking we only booked room day before , so had to use underground car Park which is €22 over night

Great hotel in a good location - staff were pleasant and helpful, with good dinner recommendations. We had a good room in that it was clean, well decorated, and had a good bathroom. We appreciated the information provided in the room, the coffee machine, and the fact the TV supported Chromecast for streaming from our iPad. Breakfast in the breakfast room was comprehensive and pleasant.

The only thing I would challenge is that there was a bit too much furniture in the room (i.e., coffee table, bag rack, etc) for the size of room - although I thought I had a superior double (i.e., slightly larger) so I'm a bit confused as everything did feel a bit cramped.

When we arrived we discovered that our 'confirmed' reservation through Booking.com did not exist! The staff were thoroughly polite in informing us of this and reassuring us that there were indeed rooms available. All worked out well and the staff who dealt with us were perfect.

I didn't like the fact that my 'confirmed' booking.com reservation no longer existed but as the staff dealt with it perfectly and provided us with a lovely room, I have nothing to complain about.

Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff, very comfy beds, nice breakfast, really appreciated the plant milk avail at breakfast. Although plant based yoghurt would have been good if it was avail also. Room very quiet and great to have windows that open.

That toilet light comes on automatically at night so woke up sleeping partner in middle of night. See through glass bathroom door ok when your with your partner but wouldn't be so good if with your son or daughter or staying with a friend.... too much !

Caen is a delightful city. The hotel is right at the center, with commerce, shopping and eateries at walking distance. Good, safe parking around the corner. We made driving trips to Omaha Beach and Bayeux and they were very closeby. Varied cuisine around the area. We must comment on the staff: simply exceptional. One staff member made suggestions for stops on the rest of our trip, and they were right on! We were on our way to Mont Dt Michel and she suggested stops on the coast along the way. They were truly memorable!

Everything was great!

We have stayed at this hotel before and this visit was just as good as the last. The location is excellent right in the centre of historic Caen and everything is within walking distance. The staff are friendly and efficient and our room was spotlessly clean and everything worked (internet, air-con etc), and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. No complaints at all - we will definitely be coming back to Caen, and will definitely stay here again.

Nothing

Very nice hotel right in the centre of Caen, but actually quite easy to get to by car with good directions provided by the hotel. All the shops, bars and restaurants are right on the doorstep. The room had excellent sound insulation which meant all the city-centre noises were not a problem and it was the most comfortable bed I have slept in for a long time. Everything was absolutely spotlessly clean and felt very Covid-safe.
