ibis budget Bordeaux Centre Bastide

Close to transport to train station - bus #10 and huge Carrefours beside it. Small restaurants in the area but mostly closed as it was a long weekend ! An easy walk across the bridge to centreville !

They should fix the electronic door lock ! 6-7 tries to get in doesn’t quite cut it ! The Ibis chain should provide a few more tv channels than basic . Providing paper cups in your room the size a dentist gives you to rinse and minimal at breakfast says only that they do things as cheap as possible at this particular Ibis !

really comfortable bed, great value for a solo traveller, close to the tram, buses, and a lovely walk across the Pont de Pierre to the historic centre. I had a super view of the dome of Ste Marie de Bastide from my room on the top floor. the Air Conditioning was most welcome in the high temperatures.

although I know that Bordeaux has a huge range of restaurants, cafes, bars, I think it would be great to have a comfortable lobby or rooftop terrace in IBIS Budget itself to relax in…. I know the adjoining IBIS hotel has quite a large lobby which seems to be underused, but a more comfortable communal space that might overlap with the breakfast area would be great. I realise that the economic model is minimalist and efficient to reflect the ‘budget’ category.

All was good, the room was a decent size, clean and comfortable with plenty of charging points. It also had effective air conditioning. A 15 minute walk across the bridge brings you into the city centre with plenty to do and see.

The hotel doesn't have dedicated parking, you can park on the street outside with restrictions (paid) or there is a multi storey car park next door. Please take care to note that cars with roof boxes (like ours) cannot gain access to the car park.

Good location, 15 min walk from the centre of the old town. Supermarket opposite which was really handy and the tram is a 5 min walk. So nice to have AC as lots of accommodation in Bordeaux didn’t offer that as an option and it was super hot when we stayed. Breakfast is always topped up and staff were friendly.

Rooms are a little compact. Doors close late at night and you have to wait a while for someone to let you in. There is a number to call and a bell but no one answered. We wish there were changes to the breakfast, as the same thing for 4 days was a bit much, but it was nice that they offered additional things like fruit and yoghurts.

This is a perfect location to stay if you want to explore Bordeaux. It's reasonably priced, clean, and close to the old city centre. It's a no frills Ibis - but it was ideal for what we needed. Rooms were cleaned daily. Ideal for a short stay. Parking is available at €9 a day and the Carrefour nearby is very useful. Breakfast was good value for money: juice, tea & coffee, fresh bread, croissants, pastries, youghurts, fresh fruit - as much as you wanted. €6 a day which compared to city prices.....was great!

Nothing. Basic but ideal. If you want something more upmarket or luxurious - this isn't for you. Ibis Budget....clue in the title! 😉

Basic room, location was great, a short 5min walk to the tram and main bridge. This hotel is basic, but amazing value for money. We used it as a based to explore the city.

The bunk bed above the main bed was very difficult to get in and out of. The toilet and shower were small. But you get what you pay for and this hotel was about a third of the price of anywhere else in Bordeaux.

The hotel is pretty cool and modern. It's not really close to the city center but in a cool and quiet area, with a supermarket really close and a lot of public transport. The staff was very nice. There is a microwave you can use.

The room is not really suitable for 2/3 people who need a bit privacy, because there is not a separate private bathroom, but a toilet and a shower inside the room, without privacy for the one who is using it. The internet wasn't great, but we were in the last room of the corridor.

Good underground parking (9 euros/night). Close to grocery store. Good location - close to the river and the city center. The view from the window was beautiful. We didn't take breakfast.

At 3 a.m. an alarm went off in all the rooms (a loud voice spoke in French) to leave the hotel. Fortunately, nothing happened, but there were many guests and everyone ran down the stairs in a panic, some took suitcases with them... The receptionist could not explain anything why there was an alarm...

Was changed to an Accessible Room as I was temporarily in a wheelchair. Chap at reception was more than happy to provide this. Room was spacious and bathroom fitted out for wheelchair access. Room was clean and tidy with fresh towels and linen.

Lifts are very small and tight for wheelchair users, luggage and carer (if needed). Why do they not have USB points in the rooms. Most UK hotels now have USB points in the rooms as a lot of phones/equipment/gadgets now run off a USB lead. Surely this is the same in Europe? Breakfast wasn't much!

1. Concierge was helpful by providing alternative transport when the trams were placed on restriction due to the potential violence from protestors.

1. Toilet in room 316 smelt a bit of urine. 2. Would be beneficial to have a wider selection of tv channels and provide bbc world service for news. 3 breakfast was basic for money.
