The host had obviously been a local for a considerable period of time and was able to advise on different activities and places to visit / eat. The hotel was situated right in the center of town. It made walking to restaurants and other parts of Besancon really easy. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern. On arriving, the temperature was the other side of 35 degrees and the room we had originally booked (A family room) was as hot as an oven. The host offered us two rooms on a lower floor for no extra charge. They were significantly cooler and also afforded us more space.

The room was very hot (Its been a bonkers summer) and it made sleeping very difficult. In opening the window, the noise of a large air-conditioning unit for the adjacent building made it very noisy in the room. Parking is available - but its tight and I wasn't prepared to get my E-Class stuck in the narrow passage way to the hotel

A great place tucked away in the centre of town, lovely garden to sit in, clean room, nice little balcony. Slippers and dressing gown were a nice little touch.

Coffee could have been replenished to last for a cup for each day I stayed. Due to the work going on outside, there were no realistic parking facilities.

Lovely location set back from the main street. Slightly quirky which I really liked. Very comfy beds and visiting in the Summer would be a bonus as you could sit on the pretty terrace. Mme Bertin was kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I look forward to returning on my next trip to Besancon.

Parking is a little tricky. Mdme Bertin kindly let us have a space but you may struggle in busier months so an alternative parking plan would be a good idea.

Breakfast was quite comprehensive and nicely presented. The room overlooked a nice garden and there was a fountain there so the gentle flow of the water was quite pleasant to hear. It felt like being in the countryside while being right in the middle of the city. Very very pleasant.

Our host was so caring, whilst having no English, worked with us to use goggle translate.

wifi was a little slow and started whirring if we wanted to download a movie.

Small,comfortable and very helpful owner. Lovely spot, and very central.

Access to hotel not easy in the old town with narrow streets. very good parking on site-secure.

Madame Bertin is a fantastic host and really made my stay wonderful. Although I speak no French and she no English she has all the necessary tools for us to communicate. I will definitely be going back!

Location was fabulous, owner was very sweet, the terrace was perfect for breakfast.

A little stuffy so we slept with the terrace doors open for fresh air, but that brought in mosquitoes (and even a sweet little cat!).

Perfect central location. Very nice shared terrace with a wonderful romantic garden behind.

Too many unnecessay deco things in the room, but this is not important.

Location. Welcome. Value for money. Helpful hostess. My second stay.
