Royal Palm Hotel

Amazing resort, everything you could need. Adults only areas but plenty for families too. Lovely pools but beach very rocky. Breakfast was great. We got an upgrade to a suite which was wonderful. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommended if your travelling to Dubrovnik, lapad area has lots of restaurants, Uber €7 to old town.

There was an extra 80 euro charge upon check out which we were not informed about. The staff were very rude about it and simply said it was for tax. Not necessary when the price is already very high

Comfortable rooms, great views. Food was Ok.

A lot of kids in the Spa Area making a lot of noise. This might be because not all the pools where operational during our stay. Regardles, there should be a rule like "no kids after 6pm" or similar ...

great room, better than on pictures, spacious and high quality materials used, attention to detail, very comfy bed, tasty breakfast (very good), restaurant dinners were good, some excellent (depending on the half board day), comfortable parking underground with full service (park in/out), a lot of pools to chose from, kids liked jumping from the cliffs, boat trips organized nicely with "street" prices, did not feel like overpaying, great view from the lobby, heated pool a plus

beach pool (near the cliffs) of lower quality, one could invest in a bit of nice wood and better finish, some elements were poking out and could hurt your feet

The views were outstanding. This facility had one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve had anywhere and the spa was incredible! There was always staff available to answer questions and provide assistance.

This hotel could up their game by providing completely smoke free areas. In this day, many people are really bothered by second-hand smoke. If you wanted to be outside to take advantage of the setting, the pools, the sunbathing patios and umbrellas or even in the balcony of your own room, you could not avoid the smoke from other guests. The property is large enough that it would be easy to provide a smoking area that was fully removed from those who don’t smoke. The breakfast area was particularly bad-

Room spacious & comfortable. Hotel spotlessly clean & staff very friendly. Being able to use the facilities/restaurants of all the 'Royal' hotels is a bonus. A good quality choice of foods for breakfast with nothing too much bother for the waiting staff.

The only aspect I did not like and the reason for downgrading my 'value for money' rating was being stung for 70 euro garage parking fee for my hire car. When we checked in there was no parking space outside the hotel and I was asked if I wanted to use their garage but was not told there was a fee for this. Had this charge been explained I would have no gripe about it as there was ample opportunity during the course of our stay to park on the street outside the hotel which would have been free!

This was our 2nd stay in Dubrovnik in 2 weeks( 1st was staying in the Old Town where we did all our sightseeing from), so we used this stay as an end of busy holiday relaxing break, which it was absolutely perfect for. Situated in a quiet bay with gorgeous views, a choice of restaurants and bars perfect to watch the sunset from and just chill. We had a small suite with tons of space, a bedroom with the comfiest of beds, a living room, large bathroom and separate shower room, and a large terrace/balcony with the most amazing views.Duper clean too. Staff were all lovely and super helpful, and as our flight wasn't till 10pm we were allowed to check out at noon , store our luggage, and have use of all the facilities including the spa and beach towels, until we left. Loads of sunbeds dotted around the grounds and rocky shore to sunbathe or chill in the shade. Didn't want to leave!!!

The staff at the hotel were so welcoming and warm, and really helpful with questions even prior to our arrival. They answered questions we had through booking.com messages very promptly. The views are breathtaking and the hotel is kept so clean and well managed. The room itself was beautiful, make sure you get a sea view room when booking as its so worth it. The Royal Palm is one of a few hotels owned by the Royal group in the complex and it all feels very private and exclusive when you are there. I loved how we could use the facilities in any of the hotels while there. We used the Sky Blue rooftop pool and bar a lot. The rooftop pool and bar is very nice, again staff super helpful and the views from there are amazing day or night. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxury holiday where you can switch off and relax and know that you will be treated well during your time.

The bed was a little hard for my liking but I guess that's subjective as some people prefer a firmer bed.

The service was outstanding. The staff cannot help you enough. The room was wonderful and clean and sorted very quickly every day. The breakfast was unbelievable and a real highlight! If you are booking, add it in because you won’t need lunch. The choice was beyond my expectation. Any queries were sorted immediately! Our fridge seemed to not be working but it was organised within the day.

Nothing really but the beds were pushed together so it wasn’t really a double. We didn’t worry about it though.

We have an adjoining family room with sea view at the Royal Palm, the rooms were clean and spacious with an amazing view. I appreciated that the rooms were quiet, air con worked, beds were fantastic and massive, cleaning was good. Wi-fi perfect! All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, which made such a difference, thank you all, great job. Special mention to the guys at reception who helped us with lots of dumb questions with good humour and grace. The hotel has a relaxed and quiet feel, no loud music and I appreciated the peace and quiet. Breakfast service was good, friendly and efficient, we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and views. Breakfast food was generally very good. We enjoyed jumping into the sea from the rocks at the lower swimming pools, you take your life in your hands, but great fun once you've identified the right places. The hotel is expensive, and food and drinks especially so, although Dubrovnik is pricy, there are ways to make the budget go further, but as the hotel is a little far out some planning is required. There are some local walkable facilities, including one good restaurant (Pivnica Dubrava) a ten-minute walk away. It's easy to grab the number 6 bus to Lapad (every 10 minutes and 5 minutes walk to the stop) and use the bakery and supermarket facilities to pick up a cheap lunch. It's also possible to walk to Lapad (20 mins) along a lovely and shady beachside walkway.

Soft and lower pillows for front sleepers! Some of the pools were 18+, which was a little limiting for our family, albeit a minor inconvenience. The freshness of some breakfast items might have been better, but a minor gripe amongst the excellent selection.
