Delta Hotels by Marriott Waterloo

In general, our stay was good. It is a great location in uptown Waterloo, close to many restaurants and local stores.

Post-service was lacking big time. It took 1 week for staff to provide me with the invoice for our stay. Four days after the initial request I received parking invoice. When I insisted on receiving an actual invoice for the stay, staff made a very absurd excuse and provided correct invoice few days later without any apologies for the initial mistake. I found this whole situation highly unprofessional for the level of this particular hotel, being part of Marriott chain.

Rooms were immaculate. Bathroom is a generous size and well laid out. Staff was responsive and efficient. Breakfast options were scarce.

- Insufficient parking. I refused to park in the overflow area as it was not well lit. - Staff was generally on point, though I had negative encounter just as I was cling out. I was abruptly told to keep my distance while waiting at the front desk: I was wearing a mask, as was the other guest and the staff member involved. I thought I was at a good distance. This could've been communicated more thoughtfully. Very rude!

It’s a convenient location for when we visit our friends and family in Waterloo. We have stayed here plenty of times and like that we know what to expect when visiting - consistency is key during the pandemic. The staff are always very friendly and eager to help when they can which is refreshing.

The room we had needed some attention to parts of the room. For example the shower door did not close properly (flush, it allowed water our) the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall and in need of repair. We also did not have additional cups in the room as we usually did. This room seemed like it received less attention than the ones we usually stay in close to the elevators. I’m thankful that there was no construction happening Sunday morning. We will be asking for our usual room close to the elevators moving forward.

The staff and facility were excellent. I would even say exceptional . We love the restaurant "Proof" This is one of the best Delta hotels that we have patronized ( we have stayed here on multiple occasions). Its a great value partly because of its perfect size and accoutrements. The staff were welcoming and accommodating.

On the whole very little.

Comfortable beds, quiet. Excellent dining facilities.

Not impressed with quality of toilet paper - single ply!!! For a facility of this caliber one expects 2 ply, prefererably triple. Also dinky little soaps, no shower cap, no robes! Considering the cost per night, I do think breakfast and parking should have been included.

The location was central and close to The university of Waterloo. The hotel is clean and the layout of the rooms were ideal. There were construction happening close by but no noise was heard from inside the hotel. Brought our pet with us and it was great.

The wish we could have adjoining rooms because I needed to book two rooms. Also, my rooms were not ready when we checked, as promised, but they were able to accommodate us when we advise them about the situation.

Ordered from the restaurant. Got a negative right away about booking a reservation. Booked up for weeks. Maybe have something come available for 2130-2200. No that won’t do as the other party of friends I’m with has a elderly mother and cannot eat late. Ordered room service. Get back to our rooms and nothing to eat it with. How long does it take to ensure these details are looked after. I was elected to go down and get things sorted. If you are not happy in your job, don’t pass that on to your “bread and butter”!

The rooms are big and comfortable. We did not experience other services that the hotel may offer because it was during the covid-19 quarantine.

Some of the employees were not wearing masks. Even if you stay at the reception desk we feel that this sets a poor example for other guests and employees. I was overcharged and had a hard time getting my money back.

No Bell boy. We were extremely tired by the time we reached to the hotel. It was evening and we moved from Niagara Falls after a hectic day. We had to carry all our luggage to our room by ourself.
