Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-Edmonton South, an IHG Hotel

All the staff were excellent from the front desk to cleaning staff to any staff member you happened to meet in passing. But in particular, the breakfast staff, especially Mach, were exceptional!! And the breakfast was great too. Very friendly and attentive service.

Our room faced the busy highway and there was a lot of road noise throughout the night. Renovations on other floors were noisy on the one weekday we were there during the day. Price was too high given the above. Vent in bathroom didn’t work.

Staff were very understanding, made everything go easy, No Obstacles , really PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Everything was clean, even if the room could have used some updating, it was well maintained and clean. The area was conveniently located to all shopping centers and restaurants. Breakfast was fresh, coffee was hot. Any requests we made were fulfilled immediately.

Beds were good, but not very soft. The fold out couch was very springy, but could be worse. The furniture was a bit worn, but comfortable overall. Eggs served for breakfast were terrible one day and tasty the next.

The staff were very friendly, courteous, and diligent in meeting our needs. They also were helpful with answering questions, and prompt to respond to any requests. The breakfast room was awesome! The staff went to great lengths to ensure there was plenty of food, selection, etc., and that the entire area remained clean at all times.

The bathroom fan in our room (#628) was not operating, so after a shower or bath, the room was quite humid for a period. #1 elevator was out of service, and #2 elevator shuddered and vibrated at the top 2 floors. This caused some congestion at times at #3 elevator.

So glad you asked about "the bed". I meant to look at the mattress to see what make/model it was, but in our hurry to get on the road I forgot 🙁 - your mattress/beds are way more comfortable than the beds we sleep on at home! The room and the facility were very clean, lots of room in the common areas for people to move around and not be crowded. All of your staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The only thing was the parking...during busy weekends in peak periods it's very congested in the evenings when you come in for the night, but then that's getting to be the norm wherever you room for the night.

I have never enjoyed taking a shower in hotels as much as I did in this hotel. They have sufficient toiletries (not on small bottles that you have to save up for the number of days of your stay), very powerful and good pressure of shower, and very clean. The staff from reception, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly and very accommodating. The bed and pillows were not too hard and just comfortable. The breakfast was good and organized. Eden Padio was such a gem of the hotel, she made sure that we were looked after. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely choose this place again when we visit Edmonton!

The facility was clean, heating was working and there was hot breakfast and coffee and in room amenities were adequate.

At the breakfast the turkey sausages were not put out with the rest of the food and if i didn't ask about the ingredients of the other sausages i wouldn't have found out that there was this option available. Also the hashbrowns weren't put out as well. I just saw it on someone's plate and asked so we got a small bowl and when i went to get it for my husband i was told they ran out. People who are vegetarian or can't eat pork did not have those options available. Even the yogurt had gelatin in it. No cinnamon rolls or choice of different type of muffins.

The lady at the front desk was exceptional! She is very kind and very accomodating and really good at her job as she was running the show all by her self that night. Very nice room with high ceiling and very spacious as well. I like that you have the toiletries mounted and sealed instead of the small size ones. Clean hotel. Breakfast is also great, though they cant get the serving trays to fill due to high volume of customers and 1 pancake machine being down.

Room was clean, staff are great and good location for me.

The bathroom door swings closed in room 535, it should stay open to the position last placed. It took a long time for the hot water to get to the tap in the first thing in the morning. The tub water spot could be cleaned up so there is a tighter seal when the lever is pulled up to switch the water to the shower spout. Repair it so all the water is pushed to the shower head.

The facility offered various "extras", including a pool and hot tub, a fitness room and a complimentary breakfast. To make it even better, these "extras" were offered at extended time periods that allowed visitors to come and go, depending on their schedules.

Though heating and air conditioning is available, we had no control over what temperature we could set our room's to be. During our stay, the weather was pretty cool, but we were unable to change the thermostat setting to a warmer degree.
