BEST WESTERN Geelong Motor Inn & Serviced Apartments

Our first stay was the night before we departed on the Spirit of Tasmania and the second night was when we returned from Tasmania of the Spirit of Tasmania. On our second night we had a late check-in due to the ferry arriving after the usual business hours of hotels. We had two rooms booked, and during check-in the room for 3 people was upgraded to a larger room with two bedrooms, which was very much appreciated. Extremely helpful front desk staff (I never caught the gentleman's name) who helped us get our luggage up the stairs. Very close to the ferry terminal (5 minutes).

We were in Geelong for less than 15 hours, so we didn't have time to find anything that we didn't like.

The apartment was extremely spacious with a large lounge/dining room, although this was not required on this stay it is good to know that it is available if we were to return in the future. Also, the apartment was very quiet considering it is located on the highway. The bed was very comfortable with heating and TV in each bedroom and lounge room, the shower had great pressure and was very spacious.

We didn't like how there were no soft drinks available buy on the premises, we thought there may have been a vending machine available to buy one from but could not locate one.

Bed was very comfortable, the amenities like Coles and Woolworths were close and within walking distance. Loved the shower as mine at home is only a 50 litre hot water service. It was also quiet given it was the grand final AFL weekend and Geelong was in it, lucky to get a place, but the neighbours were quiet and not roudy.

Maybe a note on how to use the dishwasher, I ate out though because I was on holiday. They left everything for the dishwasher, like cleaning tablets, but I am a male and was just lazy to cook, so got take out and used the microwave for my pop corn.

The apartment was Airey, full of light, quite roomy.

Barest minimum of kitchen utensils, just a small oven tray. There was 1small pot for cooking , no frying pan. The toaster was a burnt out wreck. Crockery was provided sufficient for a couple _just two plates, 2 bowls, 2 mugs, 2 glasses. There were no serving dishes, no place mats, no pepper&salt. The milk supply was 6 tiny long life thimbles for our 4 nights. The rubbish tidy was tiny, not capable of holding more than a few wipes and those empty milk thimbles. There were no electric blankets, the bed was just a double and the mattress saggy. There was no directory/guide or safety tips. The parking for cars is "first in",

We stayed this weekend and never before have I been so motivated to leave a positive review so quickly after our stay. We were a group of 6 and had people with special needs. The manager was exceptional in handling our situation - well beyond expectation. His helpfulness, efforts and desire to please were first class. Given the moderate price, the efforts were well beyond what one would usually expect. So if you are after a clean, comfortable, quiet, well positioned accommodation with exceptional management and top notch service you won't do better! Definitely recommend and look forward to staying again.

The fact that we could only stay one night - everything was so perfect that we wished we were staying longer.

Proximity to beach (black swans, pelican , little boats) as well as to sites of interest for me in Geelong. Despite being close to a major highway noise was not a problem. I appreciated the pool. Receptionist on arrival was helpful and friendly. Mixed area but some appealing homes.

Light switch in the bathroom was a bit temperamental. Pillows very big and springy. One softer would have been useful. Otherwise good.

Rooms spacious and have all amenities needed, washer dryer combo in room would be nice

Mattress past it’s best, only two old pillows. No instructions for dishwasher, bedroom became very cold. Toilet cistern didn’t always flush properly and constantly dribbled, wasteful

Being upgraded to an apartment for no extra cost when there was a mistake in the booking. The swimming pool is also very nice and well maintained.

The ad on Booking.com confused me (yes, I'm simple) as it mixed in photos of the hotel rooms with the self contained apartments. Having to communicate via text messages on the Booking.com app was also a bit tedious, I prefer a simple phone call

Brenda & Saskia the two receptionists are so friendly & happy to help you & answer questions. The room we stayed in was so clean & spacious. The bonus was the swimming pool & the courtyard. So close to Deakin Uni as we attended a function there. Will definitely recommend to friends & family. Thank you 💫
