Sorrento Beach Motel

I got what I needed: clean and comfortable beds with decent pillows, sufficient and well-located plug points, a good hot shower and my car parked just outside my room ; ) I was pleased to find extras such as cutlery, bowls and plates. After a previous $1,000.00 per night Sorrento holiday in November with dirty beds and dusty floors where we had to bring our own bedding or be charged $39 per head, i had lost my taste for vacations. Thank you to Sorrento Beach Motel for restoring my faith and giving me a good night's rest. option for heated lamp in bathroom will be a nice touch for the cold months.

Keep your footwear on, floor is a little sticky... but its a small matter

Convenient location. Easy walk to shopping precinct. Short drive to where I needed to be for work. Nice thought of 2 complimentary beers in fridge (tho' didn't drink). At the time of booking, the most economical stay in Sorrento I found. Staff were friendly. As a motel, it was as I expected. Simple needs met as in a clean comfortable bed, kitchenette facilities and suitable bathroom.

Rooms were a bit echoey. Could hear people chatting and laughing late at night at times and I'm sure they would've been thinking they were talking at a normal level. The accommodation was clean but was unsure whether the floors had been mopped properly. There was a floor stain in bathroom and unsure whether fresh or permanent.

The motel room was very clean and quite large. Also outside was nice and tidy with lovely green grass in the front of each room. Parking was for free and right outside the room which is perfect. We also liked the location as it was close walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants in Sorrento. Staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast of scrambled eggs on bread in room on our last day and it was delicious, cafe style quality.

The matress was a bit soft and felt worn out. Room interior quite boring with grey sofa and cushions. It would be nice to add some colour to make it more cheerful. Also wardrobe had only 1 hanger which was quite disappointing as we had few smart shirts and dresses so had to lay them out on sofa.

Older little property, good for the nights stay, seeing as we’ve been doing a road trip I’d say based on the other accommodation in it price range around Victoria it’s an average room.

Never spoke with a single person, when checking in our key was outside the reception door in an envelope. The paperwork inside naming a different person with his personal details (address number and email) but the office was closed so unable to rectify this with the office. When checking out the office was open but unattended.

after changing our room to a newly renovated, one who were quite happy as the property was close by to all local attractions.

when we first arrived, the room that we had bought, was old, smelly, and not really up to standard. After paying an extra $30, we moved rooms as the other guests that followed us. The first room we were booked into was far too close to the noisy room and tired and old .

The staff were very warm and friendly. The breakfast was excellent - perfectly cooked! The room was on the small side, but very nice, and mostly clean. The location was close enough for a short drive to beaches, and the main shops, but it was still a lovely quiet spot. Plus the parking was close to the room. I’d definitely stay there again.

The bed was a little on the firm side. (A bit hard on my arthritic hips) And the spa bath and microwave oven hadn’t been cleaned properly. And the lack of views.

Staff friendly and helpful. So comfortable and had everything you would need. Very peaceful environment. We had the best night’s sleep. (I was flooded out in Rochester 14 months ago and still waiting for renovations to be completed. It was such a boost to experience the night in the motel.). All guest (3)agreed you could not want for more than this motel)

We loved everything from the time we arrived until our departure.

Bed was pretty comfortable and there was plenty of space for a couch, table and chairs etc. The heater worked effectively (on a chilly winter weekend) and there were clean fresh towels etc readily available. The motel is in a pretty convenient location to get to town (2 min drive - 10 min walk), parking is pretty well directly out the front of your room too.

Rooms are probably due for an update/refresh, but given the last couple of years of lockdowns etc, I don't blame any small business for being cost-conscious. Amenities are fine, and everything you'd expect is there (iron, board, kettle, microwave etc), but I was disappointed that there was no mini-bar at all. Not even a couple of soft drinks and a chocolate/pack of chips. Always a nice touch, but I'll know to grab some things from the supermarket for future bookings. Most frustrating bit was the lack of noise-proofing: we could really hear our next door neighbours talking etc, and it was a bit distracting.

Very clean and spacious room. It was quiet even though there were some teenagers celebrating schoolies. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, we were not asked to show proof of our double vaccination. This was disappointing. I realise some business people are reluctant to ask clients to show vaccination proof. Let us all try to do this and protect ourselves and others. After 6 lockdowns for Melburnians we do not want more outbreaks!

I wish the management asked us for vaccination proof. Perhaps this was just overlooked in our situation. Everything else was fantastic.
