Rydges Mackay Suites

The staff were friendly and the ladies who clean the rooms were awesome. I booked for two adults and when I arrived it was two single beds they changed them with no fuss. Was fabulous

Nothing I didn't like, but the instructions for the washer dryer was a little hard to understand, my clothes didn't dry. Maybe instructions for dummies might be needed?

The suite was spacious, well-appointed (dishwasher, washing machine) and well laid out (separate bathroom and toilet, bedroom completely enclosed). The staff, especially the house keeping staff, were very friendly. The balcony was a good size but there was no outdoor furniture. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of attractions (e.g., ArtSpace and the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre) and amenities (e.g., shopping centre). Locals don't recommend walking at night. The taxi service is good in Mackay and taxis arrive at the hotel quickly. Only a short trip to the airport. 24 hr reception.

The arm chair was dirty, dust and grime. It would be a good idea to bring disinfectant wet wipes for vinyl chairs and hard surfaces.

Best location in Mackay. Great staff, good size room, room service breakfast was excellent. Good off-street free parking.

Little water dripping noise in wall partition between bathroom and toilet. Not enough to keep us awake, but needs attention. Forgot to tell the desk on departure. Would suggest some luggage trolleys for carpark to room. More foxtel channels would be nice

Well located in CBD with free parking. Easy access to great walks around the Pioneer River. Comfortable if somewhat small room. Good idea to credit customers with a $10 voucher for each day they chose to re-use towels.

Rooms were small & the furniture is a bit worn out.

Central location

There are not many car parks. Managed to find tight parking spot in the hotel car park only to find my car was damaged in the morning by person that was parked next to me who left earlier. As usual, the hotel doesn't take any responsibility in their own carpark.

Good size room with balcony. Great location in the city center of Mackay. Comfortable bedding. great air con system. mini bar and room service available. Lift service.

Needed more undercover parking. The rooms were a little need of care and attention. overall great stay.

Great location. Staff member I dealt with was an exceptional young lady, very obliging, helpful and friendly. Spacious and comfortable unit, well equipped. Bed very comfortable.

Further detail to cleaning of rooms would give a better impression. Unable to use washing machine as seemed a little too technical for me!!

Nice big room (apartment style). Plenty of space to fit our porta cot for our baby. I like the private car park out the back, you don't have anyone watching you as you unload your baggage into the suites (as we have a baby we have A LOT of luggage). Breakfast is right down stairs, super convenient.

The room view is of dingy alleyways of Mackay, keep the curtains shut because it isn't nice too look at (nicer at night, you can't see much). The bathtub/shower, too small & could use an upgrade. However in saying that, water pressure is good & shower is clean so that is being very picky of the room.

friendly staff. receptionist - Olga help me to become a Rydges member. housekeeping were great in making sure I had enough towels. Moss on Wood (Restaurant) were great and they added value to my stay.

The room was spacious and neat. The location was central to the city with a bus stop at the front of the hotel. The bed was firm but comfortable. The room service that we had for breakfast was well presented and tasty with a good range of choices.

The pillows were very hard and there was no additional blankets available. On our first night we decided to go to the restaurant that is attached to the hotel however the service was extremely bad and we would not go back to eat there.
