Emerald Explorers Inn

The bathroom sink was outside of bathroom. The fact that there were NO outside lights on anywhere…car park, the actual motel (reception) made it seem a bit creepy. Clearly no shower gel had been topped up for quite some time and there were no blankets on the bed…in the middle of winter it made it very uncomfortable.

Emerald is centrally located for a long trip I was taking. The Emerald Explorers Inn is in the perfect spot for a traveller like me, and any traveller coming to Emerald with its excellent location on the highway, warm and friendly staff, delicious food, and my favourite of all, bath sheets. When travelling, nothing makes it more obvious I'm away from home than the tiny bath towels of most motels. Instead, at the Explorers Inn, I forgot about being in a motel for a moment, wrapped up in a beautiful big fluffy white towel. Thanks EEI!

The grounds were excellent, and parking for the rooms were very easy wide open and covered. The room was huge in comparison to other similar holiday spots of this kind. Our daughter fell ill after our first night and got worse The 2nd, so we had to check out a night early and come home, the lady at reception was very understanding and refunded our night which we appreciated. We will try again next spring and be back for sure.

The pool looked lovely, but too cold for a Queenslander. Bet it gets well used in summer months though. Like a lot of other places these days, no toaster or microwave, this is a convenience well mist when travelling with young ones.

Staff, amenities & service cannot be faulted. Friendly, professional & very accommodating to specific needs/requests. Location within walking distance to main shopping complex & Botanical Gardens! The food was to die for - Red Emperor taco's w/salsa & childrens steak w/salad & chips so much better quality than any restaurant I frequent in Ballina, or any city for that matter. Highly recommended if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of town.

The layout, not only of the room, but the room in location to the pool to reception and the restaurant. It was very clean and extremely comfortable.

The dinner menu was hard to get our heads around. Options are great but very confusing after a 12 hour drive. Some streamlining of the menu would be great. The food was amazing.

Emerald Explorers Inn was a wonderful place for our family to recharge and rest. The accommodation was modern, extremely spacious and clean. The kids loved the well-maintained swimming pool (even though it was freezing!) and it was a treat to have the room serviced. We had the new family room which was perfect for our family of 5 with a well-equipped kitchen, dining table, laundry and joining rooms to give us some space from the kids! It was a wonderful base for exploring Emerald and doing some fossicking and specking in the nearby towns of Sapphire and Rubyvale. I highly recommend this motel to anyone!

The welcome we got from the managers Brian and Kristine was great. the air con was superb. the outdoor pool is well serviced and clean, lush lawns the explorers inn restaurant served quality meals, and they don’t skimp. All staff are friendly. it’s 500 meters from the largest shopping mall. Housekeeping really make the beds well.

The owners need to refresh the decor, our room was very tired. The mattresses could do with a swap out.

On arrival we were met by the relief Managers who were lovely to speak to. Our room was spacious and clean. Large bathroom with lovely soft bath towels. A quiet room with a comfortable bed. Undercover car park at the door. Lovely outdoor patio setting with a view of the pool to enjoy an afternoon drink. Enjoyed a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant. Very friendly wait staff who went out of their way to look after us. Great night.

We couldn't find any problems with the motel or accommodation.

Comfortable room with plenty of space and a good location for ease of access and departure.

Google (and this survey) said there was breakfast available but the receptionist said that you don't offer breakfast and none was provided.

First off the room. It exceeded our expection for a motel room. Very spacious and clean, comfy bed, large bathroom and large flat screen wall mounted TV. Cold fridge with complimentary bottled water, free toiletries. The pool was right outside our room and we liked the atmosphere just sitting outside our room sipping wine. We absolutely loved the restaurant. Definitely the best fine dining in CQ, and we know because we travel a lot and do a lot of reviews. So do yourself a favour and come to the Explorers Inn restaurant you will not be disappointed. 5 stars. Not just the food but the service and ambiance is second to none.

The breakfast was just ok. Poached eggs a little under done and the sausages a little over done.
