Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel

Stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was great lots of space. Loved having the two bathrooms. Washer and dryer was great. Didn't really cook in the kitchen but has everything you need. View from the balcony was amazing from the 12th floor with city, water and pool views. Pool was great not crowded and shady for most of the day. Pool towels provided at reception. Undercover parking at a cost of $15 per day.

Bed was comfortable however the pillows were way too soft for my family. More pillow options would be nice. Continental breakfast was great with good choices however was very busy at times and hard to get a table inside. Lots of space outside though. We had a problem with our toilet in the middle of the night which was dealt with promptly and management were great in making it up to us.

Cost was quite reasonable - although it was the low season (February). The room was clean and a good size, facilities are adequate, breakfast was good, location is perfect for an overnight stay to attend an event in Darwin CBD. We found a free street parking spot right outside the hotel entrance, but that could be hit and miss at busier times.

The air conditioning unit in our room had a slight but annoying rattle. The well stewed coffee provided in a giant urn as part of the breakfast package reminded me of highway motels decades ago - time to update - most hotels at least have a push-button espresso machine of some sort in the breakfast area these days. I acknowledge that I was able to order a decent coffee for an additional fee.

Location is excellent because it is near Coles and Woolies, The Mall and all cafes and restaurants. Walk to the Waterfront for activities. Bus stop not far, which takes you to Mindil Beach, Casino, Cullen Bay etc. View from 21st floor is exceptional. Balcony in shade, so usable all day. We had a one bedroom apartment with kitchen facilities. EVerything we needed to cook. TV in both rooms. AC worked well, as did WiFi. Only 3 devices can be connected though. Pool in shade all day. Housekeeping each day and a full service weekly. Bathroom with roomy shower, washing machine and dryer. Cabinets above sink for all your toiletries. Wardrobe enables you to unpack suitcases for long stays.

Restaurant was not great. Only ate there for dinner once, not good food, so didn't return. Plenty of better places nearby. Not clean enough either. Table sticky. Balcony was not clean. Tiles need a good scrub and hose.

View was wonderful with a nice balcony. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Location was perfect. It was away from most of the noisier areas but close enough to walk to bars and restaurants.

Someone charged a drink at the hotel bar (Vino) to my room for which I was charged $18.00. It was corrected after I went to front desk and asked to see bar receipt because I did not eat or drink at hotel and certainly did not order any drinks and charge to my room. It should not be this easy to charge to someone else's room without a confirmation process. I am sure this has happened before and unsuspecting customers do not always check itemized receipts and have been charged for someone else's purchase.

The room was very nice and clearly care taken to furnish nicely. I like the way the bedroom was partly enclosed. I had a great balcony and views from the 19th floor. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen was reasonably equipped. The desk space was excellent, and such a nice spot to work....right next to the views out the balcony door. I always have to work when I go away and the wifi worked just fine. The gym was fairly basic, but had a few cardio machines and some free weights.

No sun on the pool the whole day. This could have been the time of year. I know they can't change this now. Some plants around the pool area would have been nice too. It was just all concrete and lacking a bit of atmosphere. This is a minor though. The bathroom was a little cramped, having the washing machine & dryer in there was the trade off.

I had 2 stays in this property: both one bedroom apartments (2508 and 2517). The rooms are very comfortable and v well appointed. The views from 25th floor over the port are spectacular. The pool is nice and cool. Good shower and toiletries and kitchen equipment is good. Comfy sofa and easy chair. The location is great - an easy walk to waterfront and central to restaurants etc.

I had some issues with defective aircon and tv in 2517 although both were attended to promptly. I found the staff were hit and miss - some very friendly and helpful. Others quite the opposite. I think it’s about time a property of this calibre / cost installs streaming services in their smart tvs.

Location was good - edge of CBD easy to get around by foot for most part. Breakfast was included (however that didn’t include fresh coffee), room was a good size & clean, bed comfortable. Staff on reception were friendly & helpful.

Paid parking $15 p/n was in building however very tight bays if you have a Larger hire car & not many allocated to guests … found one each time though, usually a few levels up. The hand held part of rain-head shower didn’t function. Expensive, average coffee in the cafe, However found that everywhere we were in NT overcharged for very average coffee. Tip: Bush traders cafe in city had good coffee! The creative photography used on booking sites made cafe & pool area look a lot more impressive than in real life!

Arrived very late due to cancellation of original flight by Jetstar. Check in at one in the morning was as easy as any other time. Parking in the same building, though a touch complicated, was accessible on every floor through the hotel elevator system making transfer of bags unusually easy. Shared laundry was located in corner of car park next to lifts and was also quick and accessible with some chairs if you wanted to wait. Nice pool but no pool bar. Breakfast was good, we had continental included but cooked breakfast was optional add on. Dinner menu was the standard Aussie mid range affair cooked and presented nicely for a reasonable price. Location was excellent between sea front and shopping both walkable. All major attractions of Darwin were a short drive (you don't want to walk very far in the ongoing heat and humidify and the town does sprawl a bit).

No complaints it all worked fine.

Great location in the Darwin CBD. Walking distance from the waterfront. Our room had an excellent view. The bed was very comfy and the shower was huge. The swimming pool was very nice. Staff were very helpful and friendly and having a 24/7 reception was very handy as they were able to store our luggage all day before our 2am flight home. The restaurant was quite nice, although they did get a bit backed up with breakfast on one of the days so it took a while for our food to come out.

There was quite a long wait on getting our food at breakfast, and the food was nothing special.

Room 2105 floor had a good view over the Harbour. Nice balcony. Swimming pool was clean. Staff very friendly and cooperative. Nothing to much trouble. Friendly cleaning staff pleasant but not to chatty got with what they had to do.

Continental breakfast for someone who cant eat eggs the only other choice was baked beans that I personally don't do either.Maintenance in the room needs checking, towel hanger behind the door broken.Washing machine and dryer makes access to toilet cramped but manageable Washer and Dryer useful if staying a while and travelling light.
