Well kept rooms in a 1908 hotel with some renovations. Still retains that old hotel charm complete with creaky floorboards. There is shared bathrooms including a Spa... which was cool to find. Also, common area kitchen with cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juices provided. Plenty of outside deck space front and back with a lovely guest only outdoor area that gets full sun and is great during winter. They also have a great bistro downstairs and the bar is well stocked and well tapped. Plenty of options. The place was well presented and real testament to the Publican. Well done.

Nice clean room. Comfortable mattress, cleanliness, good value includes breakfast. Staff friendly. Great area very close to the hotel & nice repainted & carpet. Cosy heritage hotel !!!

Uncomfortable sit on dining chair without small table in room I would prefer sit on comfortable curve back chair with arm rest whilst watching on TV . Disappointed with other travellers who left dirty dishes in kitchen no responsibility to do clean themselves!!! 5 bathrooms one shower & 4 shower in baths ( no safe for travellers over 65 years ( Seniors ) shower in bath maybe need support rail ??

The accommodation was very clean and tidy, somewhat historical building (Tall ceiling - 15+ Feet, old heritage features), Air-Con, TV with simple room amenities (Hand Basin, Open Closet, Chair, mirror, bedside table). Where more amenities were required, it was a very short walk away. Again those shared amenities were well maintained, Tidy, Clean, Well stock. Bed was firm. Breakfast Room was nicely stocked, and I feel well suited to a simple country accommodation. Shower, Hand Basin and toilet were presented as individual lockable facilities, spacious, nicely presented & functional. Overall, Very Clean, Tidy, welcoming & helpful Staff to any individual or family looking for a simple and inexpensive stay in a building of some character (heritage), with some modern necessities.

Some floorboards and hall stairs creaked when walked upon - however this added character to the accommodation, the building and my stay overall.

Great facilities and super clean rooms. Easy breakfast and a huge sunny balcony to enjoy it on. Fabulous time away with a group and kids.

The place is old but well maintained so it has some nice flaire. There is a terrasse were one can get breakfast (the breakfast is simple but tasty). The staff is very kind...they put us in another room when we asked for(it was a Friday night...they have life music in the bar downstairs and our room was just over the stage). They kept our luggage free of charge on our last day. Cool staff! thank you girls and guys!

Some awful guests were very loud one night...but that is not the fault of the hotel...

The shared bathrooms were super clean! Visitors were nice and didn't make any mess in the bathroom/toilet. The tearoom was also very clean, glass cups were spotless. The old-time building attracted me with its charm. High-ceiling of 4+ metre, very solid brick walls form spacious and soundproof rooms. The last night of the long weekend in Hotel Cessnock was quiet, relaxed and cosy. Would like to book again.

The carpet is old. Ceiling lights should be brighter (desk lamp is touching sensitive, very good!)

Basic, but clean room and ample size. TV, A/C, and good wi-fi. 3 large shared toilets/showers with individual entrance doors, but never saw anyone using except for me. Common kitchen area was clean and tidy with a good selection of items for complimentary continental breakfast (juice, milk, bread, cereal, spreads, coffee/tea). Large parking area at rear.

Situated on a busy intersection, there was a bit of traffic noise, but that calmed down towards the end of the night. Only one block from the Fire and Police Stations, and there were some sirens driving by every now and again, but once again, they seemed to calm down towards the end of the night. My sleep was never broken by noise.

Clean, efficient, accommodating late arrival. The 6 bed family room was really spacious and the quick and easy self serving breakfast.

The mattress’s need updating as they were uncomfortable with springs. Wouldn’t stay another night due to this, but ideal if passing through. I also forgot to mention to the staff that the toaster wouldn’t click down so I had to hold it down.

It presents everything as advertised, great, clean, well kept pub accomodation with friendly helpful staff members. Friday nights entertainment was fantastic, very talented performers the sow ended at a very appropriate time.

Some of the guests didn't respect the fact that there were other people staying there, very noisy till well after midnight

Clean and comfortable room with a serve yourself breakfast of juice, cereal, toast, tea and coffee was great! the shared bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water! At the end of the night we needed to have a key to get back into the hotel and a staff member who was going home cared enough to enquire as to whether we had our key! Thank you!

There was nothing to dislike about this accommodation! we simply wanted a comfy bed and hot water for a shower and that's what we got! Breakfast was great!
