Little National Hotel Canberra

We loved the location, the view and the style of the rooms. The view from the lounge was so beautiful while doing a business zoom call. Your stuff and especially the lady she did the check in and out for us was very very nice.

The mattress was our big issue. It was more than usual soft in a negative way. Your body is diving- in, and you can not move or sleep well. Also, the pillows shouldn’t be so high when the mattress is like that, cause we had shoulder pain and headaches all three days. I asked for different pillows last night, and I am grateful to the staff who provided us with the lower ones.

-Friendly and helpful staff -Big soft beds and blackout blinds -Pleasant common areas - I enjoyed just chilling out with some chips in the lounge -Lots of nice thoughtful touches took this up a notch from your average hotel (e.g. free sparkling water, apples, tea and coffee in the common library, luxe scented toiletries, little treats on arrival)

We had a great stay but a few points to note: -Had to crawl over my partner to get out of the bed because the beds don't have any floorspace around them. -My key card stopped working a couple of times (which the staff were happily able to fix at the reception - apparently this sometimes happens when the cards come into contact with some phones). Fortunately my partner's key card was working. -Sliding shower door wouldn't stay closed.

The hotel's aesthetic was overall very modern and pleasing! Our room was small, but it was very cozy and clean, my friend and I enjoyed it very much! The complementary tea, robes, TV and big comfy bed made it feel like a sleepover, it was so fun! The bathroom was stunning with decent lighting and provisions (although no tissues?). The lounge areas were amazing with complementary snacks and a small tea/coffee room. We went in August which seems to be blossom season in NSW so there were stunning white and pink cherry blossoms all around the hotel. The location was also convenient, just a short walk to beautiful restaurants and cafes nearby like Lilotang, Ostani, Leyla and Maple + Clove, and main attractions were all within a 20-30min drive.

I didn't rate this place 10/10 only due to the parking. Although it was great to have free and accessible parking, we had to check in first to get our keycards, then drive our car in the carpark, grab our luggage and walk all the way around back into the hotel lobby, as the elevator in the carpark didn't go straight up to the rooms.

The bed! Very comfortable. I like to sleep in a corner. If you want to get out of the bed on both sides, then this is not your place. But we loved the bed so much that we stayed an extra night just to chill. Canberra is not as active as Sydney and Melbourne, but there are still some restaurants in walking distance. It was quiet and there is a coffee corner on the 5th floor.

There was an issue about a deduction on my credit card that wasn't ours. Luckily after emailing we received the money back. So good job on that! It just remains strange that somebody put something on our room and at check-out this was not reported to us or even seen in the system.

Small issue: When I checked in, I took stock of room mini bar, it was not fully stocked. I notified staff immediately I didn't want to give the impression that I had consumed these items when they were actually ever there. I stayed 2 nights kept informing staff over the days, no real documentation on their part. This issue was not really clarified until checkout, Gabby assisted to text housekeeping to advise issue and not to charge. So a small hiccup that could have alleviated my concern when I had spoken to 4 other staff at reception previous to Gabby.

Beautiful, comfortable room. Nice touch with the chocolate and tea on the bed. Love the lounge areas.

Better explanation of how to access the gym, pool and spa at sister hotels, including prices. Info in the room was insufficient as didn’t explain pricing and practicalities about how to access. More food options would be great as well.

Great little sleep pod with a luxurious fit-out. Loved the 4 giant poster bed that filled the end of the room. Great nights sleep. We felt like we were kids in the ideal hide away! Not sure if there was a window as we were in and out early. Free parking weekends is a bonus. The staff were absolutely lovely.

There is really no food available so grab something on your way through. The Super IGA nearby was fantastic for food up to 10pm who sell great meals (some heated) including gluten and dairy free options. You can grab some Messina’s after a quick bite which is next door.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Housekeeping where amazing. I left a not asking for extra towel so I could wash my hair. They gave me extra towels every day of my stay. Love the coffee station & fruit station in the library. The Library makes a great working space if you don't want to work from your room.

I am not a fan of the super soft beds. Not a fan of the bed being up against the window.

The warmest and earnest reception by your very chic young woman who checked us in; she honestly set the whole vibe of our stay for us with her elegance, playfulness, excitement, fine tuned professionalism, sincerity and modern designer vibe which reflected the ambiance of this fabulous little hotel.

The only fault I could comment on was that the alluring peeks of verdant indoor gardens (which were wonderful) were slightly marred by dirty windows from bird droppings.

Just love this accommodation. Have stayed at the one in Sydney, too. Nothing I could really complain about at all. So clean and comfortable. Amazing facilities, with free coffee/tea and sparkling water available. As well as fresh fruit. Meeting rooms and library also available and very comfortable spaces to work in. Would highly recommend this place to any one.

The only thing is the TV was not a smart TV or did the feature was not enabled. Not a massive deal but it would definitely have been handy.
