Abode Kingston

I initially thought I had booked a pet-friendly room, however, on reading the fine print I realised I would have to book a courtyard room. I feel that the pet booking process should be upfront and more clear - not embedded in a clause that is not immediately obvious. It should also be very clear that the room price does not include the pet - it is an additional $50 per pet. That said, I was not charged for the courtyard room and that was really appreciated. I would definitely stay at ABODE Kingston again - the location is fabulous!

Very convenient location with lots of restaurants nearby. Walking distance from Superbarn, which is an additional plus point. There was power outage on the day we were checking out and we were feeling so sorry for the reception staff who had to manage the reception as well as deal with irate customers and making sure the car park boom gates could open to get the cars out and a multitude of other things. We were very impressed with the way the staff member at the reception managed. She was overwhelmed with the whole situation but calmly got us checked out. Hats off to her.

We felt that the hotel must have an emergency plan in place including staffing to manage such unexpected situations.

The building and fittings and linen were all clean and fresh and seemed like brand new. The microwave oven was amazing - it could grill and bake if you needed. The washing machine is a dryer too - so that was a bonus. All very compact. Good for a 2 night stay.

There wasn't a dedicated space for the pet despite the $50 surcharge per night. We played with him in the hallway, and there was plenty of walking space away from the hotel. A balcony would have been nice but not to be. There was no dining table in the room - just a little coffee table. Very small room - just big enough for the two of us (single beds) and the small dog. The dog would have liked a bigger bed! :)

Abode really try to make their guests self-sufficient. The staff are also well-trained and knowledgeable about the surrounding area.

We were given an "accessible" room. This was proably a function of the low price we paid and we cannot complain about that. Even so, it could have been made clearer to us when we booked because we would have paid extra to have a proper kitchenette, as we have had on previous visits.

I always stay at Abode Kingston when I travel to Canberra for work. It’s in a fantastic location near all the shops and restaurants in Kingston. The rooms are very spacious with kitchen facilities and a very comfortable bed.

The showers are poorly designed so that water leaks out the door every time you shower. It’s very annoying.

Best hotel! Super comfy bed and room! We had the best stay and loved the location the most! We ate every meal from somewhere different every day and you have to try Onzime across the rd! Whenever in Canberra , we will definitely be back! They are pet friendly as well!

Only wish there was a pool for the hot summer weather

I had stayed at the Narrabundah Abode so my expectations were low. The facility was cleaner, the bed was comfy, housekeeping so much better and was what I expected from a hotel. I was given a nice picnic blanket as a gift, and provided with exceptional after hours support when I lost my key card.

I did find it odd to have laundry and dishwashing materials when there was clearly no laundry or kitchen. Extra hangers would be good.

Friendly welcome, and all clean and comfortable, super quiet in the evening. Not a lot of character, but fine for a short stay. Really appreciated being able to cross the street and having a great choice of restaurants. Nice choice of tea and coffee in room (even a toaster and plates). Also good to have (paid) parking on site.

clean, brand new apartment, with almost every utility inside room. good location and respectful staff. recommended

as others mentioned, parking might be a bit tricky, there are 2P and 3P both free and ticketed around the neighbourhood. the free ones are from 8:30am until 6:30pm. so the real issue is when parking during daytime.

LOCATION, BED, COFFEE MAKER, GOOD SIZE BATHROOM, READING LIGHTS, WASHING MACHINE.

ON ARRIVAL I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PARKING AVAILABLE AND THEY COULD 'NOT HELP US' IN REGARD TO THIS AND PAID STREET PARKING WAS THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE TO US. ONCE IN THE ROOM I GOT ONTO YOUR WEBSITE, CHECKED THE ABODE KINGSTON PAGE AND NOTED THAT BY HITTING ON 'PARKING' A $15 PER DAY ADDITIONAL CHARGE WOULD GUARANTEE ONSITE PARKING. DOWN AT THE FRONT DESK I ASKED IF ANY PAID PARKING WAS AVAILABLE AND TOLD THAT, YES FROM TOMORROW AND THE REMAINDER OF OUR VISIT BUT NOT THE FIRST NIGHT. NOT A GOOD START TO OUR STAY AND SOMETHING THAT COULD BE AVOIDED BY MORE INFO ON YOUR SITE AND A BETTER STAFF APPROACH AT THE HOTEL.
