Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Chevy Chase Pavilion

Both rooms are very large. The bedroom has 2 double beds and plenty of space left. Living room is also large with a couch and desk. Metro station is connected to the hotel via the shopping mall. It is about 15min ride to the Museums. Nice stores and restaurants in the area. Rooms are clean and quiet. Good complimentary breakfast.

The room service never showed up even after 4 phone calls. It's impossible to get an extra towel or a laundry bag. Folks cooking breakfast are unfriendly and cranky. The shopping mall is pretty much dead. Most stores are closed.

THE MADE TO ORDER OMLETE STATION WAS EXCELLENT, AND THEY HAD A GOOD SELECTION OF OTHER BREAKFAST FOOD. THE LOCATION WAS CLOSE TO RESTURANTS AND SHOPPING, WE FELT SAFE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. OUR ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND VERY CLEAN, WE HAD REFRIG, MICROWAVE AND COFFEE MAKER, AND OUR BED WAS COMFORTABLE.

THERE WAS ONE SET OF ELEVATORS THAT WERE NOT WORKING AND THAT WAS NOT GOOD, LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE THE STAIRS, BUT FOR OTHERS WHO NEED THE ELEVATOR THE WAIT WAS LONG. THERE NEEDED TO BE A BETTER SELECTION FOR GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE OPTIONS FOR BREAKFAST.

Room, staff are great, location is easy access to metro station, walking distance to restaurants.

What is still bad is that they double charge my credit card, I have called and they still have not corrected the issued, I was emailed a statement that the charge was corrected, but still waiting for the refund, I had to call me because it seemed they didn't notice they double charge me.

Fair everything, easy to understand, liked it and recommended just one thing you have to remember is that there is a night curfew where after 11pm-1am the doors everywhere close so you have to go through another door on the other side of the street

Coffee pot not working. Could not get into room two days in a row. Had to go to the front desk for help. Would be helpful to put a connecting phone to desk near the elevators. There was one there but it was for outside use.

Rooms are nice and spacious. Quiet at night. Great breakfast. You could park your car and catch a bus or subway from right near the hotel.

Pool was very dirty. Hair, mold and water all over the pool area. Towels were usually gone. Each day the pool was rented out from 3:30- 7:00 for a little kids swimming lessons not associated with the hotel. No mention of that on website or at check in.

We loved the room and breakfast and location very much. It was also a great value for the money in my opinion for the size of the room and what was included. The special Complimentary Happy Hour that has always been a part of Embassy Suites is such an added benefit. The staff particularly the bartender Ananda on Sunday the 2nd of July were awesome, including his cleaning assistant. We loved the fact that Cheesecake Factory and Metro were accessible without leaving the building.

There was a bit of a long wait for drinks and breakfast because of lack of employees. Not blaming the hotel, it is the times we are in that nobody wants to work. Also check-in took a bit of time, but the guy on duty was very pleasant.

Couldn't use the pool because of unsupervised children. This was one of the main reasons I picked this hotel. I was very disappointed. There we're no adults present. And you charge 260.00 a night the 38.00 for parking? That's crazy ridiculous.

Location was great! It’s right on the Metro line and you can pay $32/day to park your car in the adjoining garage. It really was the best option for us in DC. The neighborhood is cute and upscale. Free breakfast and two-drink free happy hour. For the room, there’s a separate bedroom with a king size bed and the kids slept on the fold out sofa (we brought a pillow top and there were no complaints about comfort from the teenagers). The front desk supervisor was great. He took a group picture for us, helped us get a room when ours wasn’t ready, and joked with my teenager and got him to smile.

If you want to stay in the heart of the action, this probably isn’t the place for you. The mall is pretty deserted. Some may balk at the price for parking but it is convenient and relatively cheap for DC.

Breakfast was ok, and the omelettes to order were nice. But breakfast was missing some things that Europeans like-cheeses, cold cuts and a variety of breads and rolls of good quality. Only plain low-end bagels, low-end doughnuts, low-end packaged muffin,plain rolls and sliced white bread were offered in the bread category. No croissants or French bread. You need to source better baked goods. Also, there was no mustard or ketchup or similar condiments for the sausages(which some people like) or fruit salad. Fresh fruits offered were only bananas and apples (some days) and oranges(other days). No fresh berries, only dried berries. It all felt totally middle American and a bit stingy. For the prices charged, at a hotel in a world capital, you should try harder and provide better quality, more real baked goods and more variety.

See above on breakfast. The happy hour snacks were really minimal, some pretzels and chips. Again, it felt stingy and perfunctory.
