The hotel is beautiful and the location can't be beat. My favorite mornings were spent on the porch having coffee + inn-provided breakfast, overlooking the water & marina. I stayed in room 202 (with the soaking tub) and it was lovely. The entire hotel is a period piece, and the art and decor make you feel like you're stepping back in time with all the modern amenities. I found the staff to be very helpful with coordinating any needs (eg. massage, dinner, recos); and during my solo stay, I felt very safe both in the hotel and in the town.

The only small issue I had was under the bed cleanliness. I was setting up a yoga mat and peeked under the bed, and saw a napkin. This wasn't a major deal breaker for me, but for a high-end stay I would expect pristine cleanliness.

The owners and staff welcomed us like family! They are awesome and positively impacted our stay at their amazing property. Breakfast was a culinary treat and the combination of the food, amazing service and eating out on the porch overlooking the water was the perfect way to start our days in Beaufort.

My wife and I will take a hard pass on this question as there wasn’t anything we didn’t like about this wonderful property. Well perhaps if we could have stayed there a couple of more days! 😏

The property is family owned and well maintained by Amy and Frank. The location is very convenient. Breakfast was complementary along with a welcome prosecco and later cookies and fresh water dropped in the room. The cabin was clean and spacious. The parking pass was convenient. I mostly enjoyed the terrasses which were great for breakfast or just relaxing.

I liked everything but I would switch the duvet cover for a lighter sheet for this time of the year.

Great location , main hotel was beautiful and ornate , the breakfast was exceptional.

The rear outside patio was unusable do to rundown patio furniture but there were other areas outside that were well maintained . The property. doesn’t offer the opportunity to see which room you will staying in and the price point is very high to not have that option .

Great location (and would have been perfect without traffic) and good choices/quality at breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Comfortable pillows! - but that's a problem in almost all hotels. And a bath would have been nice - but accept the limitations of adapting a historic building.

The breakfast was incredible. The host warm & welcoming. The location was perfect. The cost (room cost much more than we were told) was higher than expected. Our room was outside in an outbuilding & we had to go outside & up stairs to enjoy meals. But room service was excellent & overall the inn was a wonderful experience & we would go back!

Our outdoor building separate from inn. Room was nice but next to garbage bins & street & was noisy.

Everything was great, and the staff and food were fantastic. The room (upper cottage) was extremely comfortable and included a wonderful daily breakfast, and we also had dinner one night which was fabulous. We really enjoyed sitting on the upper decks with a glass of wine and just enjoying the view and the breezes. Our entire stay was amazing. We really enjoyed the special touches such as infused water and cookies delivered to our room every evening. I only wish we could get some of the recipes, especially the grits 😊

Historic hotel. Very nice staff. Stress-free check-in and check-out. Mellow vibe in general. Marvelous dinner at Ribaut Social Club! BREAKFAST ON THE VERANDA OVERLOOKING THE WATER! Getting to meet the owner a huge plus too. She gave me some more history on the hotel, a map of the town, and more suggestions for my trip out!

I have no complaints. The hotel does mention it's an older property (actually one of the attractions for me) and they provide sound machines for those guests bothered by any noise. I did not have to use mine. I stayed in the Lower Cottage, which might have been offputting except that it was built-in social distancing!

We really loved the cozy feel of the property. They make you feel at home away from home. If you need anything just ask before you go to buy stuff they have plenty of stuff for you to borrow. The breakfast was fantastic everyday. The views were awesome as well. They even have this honor bar they allow you to just get whatever you’d like from their fully stocked bar and they just trust you to write it down on the fridge with your room number so they can charge you. We have never stayed at a place that just trusts you like that. 1770 made our honeymoon special, for that we thank them.

It was just a little shabby on outside upkeep, with that said they were washing the building and updating patio furniture while we were there. So, I’d assume that because corona they may not have been spending money till they got back going which is understandable.
