Yankee Clipper Motel

I hadn’t stayed in a motel in years, and this one was super cute. It was completely updated and especially liked that it had vinyl planked flooring (instead of nasty carpet like most hotels). Everything seemed clean and new.

I booked online as we were getting tired of driving to our destination. We arrived at the motel around 9:15-9:30pm, with a sign on the office door to call a number to get the key. We then were told that the office staff leaves at 9:00 and we had the option of driving to the sister hotel down the street or wait in our car and they would come to us with the key. Reluctantly we got back in the car to go get the key, as we thought that maybe a faster option. They were very nice, but again we were tired of driving. Seemingly, the desk attendant could have checked for any online bookings before leaving for the night. Beds/pillows were fine, I wouldn’t say comfortable.

Very nice rehab of old motel space - they made it modern, comfortable, upscale, and overall had everything we needed. Very pleasant space. Beds were comfortable. My father appreciated the extra blanket, as he gets cold at night. Motel staff was very accommodating and called me to make sure we knew how late the office was open.

The heat/air system was able to either have heat, or the fan on, but not both, so to keep the room warm, the unit was going on and off all night, which was distracting and kept me awake. I've been in many other hotels where you could pick heat or cold, and ALSO have the fan on consistently.

This was the first motel I’ve stayed in since I can remember. Check-in was simple, and being a motel getting to your room is simple, drive and park right in front of it. It was a nicely updated clean room, that would compete with most chain hotels. It had a nice king bed, spacious bathroom, and mini fridge and microwave (ended up forgetting some newly purchased craft cider :-/ ). I would say it’s a little overpriced still for a motel, but it was a holiday weekend so I won’t knock it too bad. Overall, would happily stay again though.

Bed, cleanliness, updates

This was our third stay at this motel and we will definitely be back. The rooms are large and very clean. Nice big fluffy towels and great pillows. Our king bed was very comfortable. There is a coffee maker and fridge in the room , and the motel is close to a foot bridge leading into the town of Belfast. It is a one mile walk but the views are fabulous. The front desk gentlemen couldn’t have been more helpful and offered maps of the area and directions to town. Nothing fancy but good value for your money.

The motel is close to busy rte 1 and the traffic noise would be bothersome at night if I didn’t wear earplugs.

It was clean and nearby to my travel destinations.

The heater/ A/C unit smelled so bad (mildew, sour) while it was running, that I couldn’t use it at all during my stay. This may have been the cause of the stale odor of the room. The office was closed most of the time so I was unable to get fresh linen and towels during my weeklong stay.

The property exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating. the room was sparkling clean and had the amenities I needed. The location was convenient to the adorable downtown of Belfast. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the decor was updated and modern. Despite being off of a busy road, I felt safe and secure, and the traffic noise was minimal overnight. The price was great for my budget.

I liked everything. I have nothing bad to say, and I hope to visit again in the near future.

Excellent place to stay. Very friendly and courteous. Everything has been remodeled and upgraded. Rooms are super nice and very comfortable. I travel a lot, and this is one of best motels I’ve ever stayed in. Only minutes away from downtown restaurants and local shopping. Great place to stay if you are visiting for work and/or pleasure. I definitely recommend this motel for all that are looking for a real nice local place to stay in Belfast.

Don't have anything bad to say, definitely exceeded my expectations. Had every amenity of a luxury hotel in a compact room. Was absolutely blown away! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only got to stay one night but wish I was staying longer to fully take advantage of all the room had to offer. Outside was definitely deceiving upon arrival, is a basic clean looking motel but once inside the room I couldn't believe the quality. Awesome super comfortable bed probably the best I've ever slept in away from home, fridge microwave etc. Absolutely loved it and will definitely stay again when heading to the area.

The location was great! The rooms were new and shiny, clean and quiet.

The staff was accommodating, but not always available, probably due to the Christmas Holiday, COVID, weather, etc. There was no toaster in the room, so I bought one from Reny's and left it behind to be available for future guests. The chair was very uncomfortable and I used my own lawn chair for reading, email, breakfast, etc. I did take that home when I left.

Don't judge this book by its cover! It does not look like much from the outside. However, the rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Also, it is a short walk to the awesome pedestrian bridge that brings you to downtown Belfast. I was very happy with my stay.
