Villa Inn

This is a basic place that was absolutely adequate as a place to rest for a night. Check in was easy with a very friendly and kind man, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom with shower clean and functional. The restaurant is a nice bonus with good food and cordial staff. The coffee maker in the room was much appreciated and, though I did not use them, the microwave and refrigerator good amenities as well. If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely stay here again.

It was a bit noisy with a street front room but running the fan helped muffle the sound.

The room was large compared to other hotels, with fridge, coffee machine and microwave. Bed was large and comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. Located on north side of Golden Gate bridge for easy access to the wine areas, Muir woods and the city center. The restaurant at the hotel is very good and frequented by the local people.

The bathroom was a good size, but it needs a makeover as the fittings are old and worn.

Bed was super comfortable. Location was close enough to freeway and easy to get to. Staff was very accommodating when we needed to change to another room.

We had a problem with an outlet in our room which tripped a breaker. It felt like some maintenance on the outlet should have been done earlier to keep it safe. However, the staff was very responsive and put us in a different and wonderful room. The outside appearance looks tired, but inside was much nicer.

The Villa Inn was much better than expected. The room was nice and clean, and had fridge, freezer, microwave, and coffeemaker in the room + TV. Also the motel provided a little snack (nut and chocolate bar) in the room. We had room service and the room was made and new towels were provided. We did not at all expected this, so a very pleasant surprise. Also we were surprised that the cost included breakfast as it did not say this on booking.com. Fresh waffles and toasted donuts, was made by the friendly staff. Great value for money! Surely we will return, if we once again find ourselves in San Rafael. Thanks.

Location was very convenient. Breakfast was ok. Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Reasonably priced.

Coffee was Very bland, cheap coffee. Kind of a bummer to start the day with bad coffee. No grass for my dog to walk on which was annoying. But glad room was dog friendly and no extra charge, which was great.

I love that the rooms are spacious and they come with refrigerator and a microwave also it had a hair dryer so that a plus big rooms for sure and spacious.

What I didn't like is that I thry to call before to try to check in but I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone I call several times. Then when I got to the reservation there was no one to be found I try to call again but same result no one answer until I had to ho find someone in the dinner area.

I’m a local resident and I’ve stayed at the Villa Inn several times since my arrival in Marin County in the mid 80‘s. It was built by a local family in 1949, and is still family owned and operated to this day. The buildings were getting old and a little run down for a while, and one of the reasons I’m so pleased with my recent stay is the extensive remodeling and upgrading they have done. It’s not a super fancy room but you can see they put some thought into the remodel and my room was sparkling clean and very pleasant, comfortable, and quiet.

Easy to find. Adequate parking, adequate handicapped parking. Hotel is very clean, comfortable bed & room, bathroom clean. Has great duvet for bed. In room ice compartment in fridge worked great. Had fast hot water. Towels were soft. We will stay here again. Good location in town.

TV fuzzy poor reception and no channel info. A/C noisy, but just use fan which was not and was enough. Not the quietest place.

We got upgraded to a King sized room which was very spacious and well furnished. The bed was really comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. The staff made us feel right at home and were very friendly. Breakfast was also good. Convenient location next to Route 101 and not too far from San Fran.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. We booked a double queen room and found it super clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the room was very quiet even though it was very close to the freeway. Continental breakfast was very usual but was adequate. We will certainly consider this hotel if we come to San Rafael.
