Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa, part of JdV by Hyatt

The location of Calistoga Motor Lodge is perfect - it's quiet yet you can walk to everything, including a beautiful hiking spot across the street. The facilities are beautiful, dog friendly, and mostly child friendly. The kids loved the pools and fire pit. The dogs loved the big field to chase a ball or two. Our camper king room worked pretty well and had some extra space perfect for socializing. We also loved the new restaurant, bocce ball area, and built out picnic area. Don't miss the spa area open to adult guests, a welcome respite from the all the children at the pool.

The bathroom is poorly outfitted without a proper shower head (rain shower is useless). There was only one towel rack, two poorly placed hooks, and no place to store anything. Our room was missing an occasional chair and there are was no outlet available bedside or at the desk. The extra $25 charge to fold down the camper bed is a bit ridiculous. It's a tough place to stay with a family for more than 1-2 nights. During our stay they regularly ran out of pool towels. Also the restaurant is only open Thurs to Mon, but you can easily walk to CalMart for rations or Sam's General Store for good coffee.

Location is great. Hotsprings are wonderful. Staff is friendly.

I love this hotel and this was my 4th stay there. Was a little surprised that the room was not cleaned during our stay even though we were out all day. I guess these are new pandemic rules but seem unnecessary. Also, closing the hot springs by 10:30 pm seems too early. We were at bottle rock all day and it kinda sucked that we could not soak after a long day. Our room needed a good deep clean - rugs felt a tag worn and dirty. Not as good as it once was. Overall a beautiful facility but slipping on the details a bit. Had to ask for refills on essentials everyday since there was no housekeeping.

I like the room we stayed in and the size of the rooms (king camper studio). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and feel like a brand new. The bathroom was beautiful, very clean, comfortable. There were two big screen TVs with different channels and on demand. Every unit is a separate house. And the cute table and two big armchairs. Love all of these.

They changed me $134 extra for some kind of insurance. I'm not sure what is that. If they will not return me that money I'm going to phone them. Also the pool was not enough for the size of this resort. Lots of people on weekend in the swimming pool. I don't know if a lot of guest on workdays. The charge for the pet is $75. Its more than other hotels have.

although it was a four person room, there was only enough supplies supplies for two people. The hot tub, which we came to primarily enjoy during the evening hours, was 12° above what was safe. Although we had attempted to get someone to help, initially we were told simply to get out if it didn’t feel safe. However, with persistent complaining, they were eventually able to call someone in to make the necessary adjustments. we were offered an hour late, check out, but when one of my adult grand children came in to get the key re-magnetized, he was told that it was already check out time

The people answering the phone made adjusting my reservation extremely easy and as it was for a birthday celebration gave me a complementary room upgrade! When we arrived we also received complementary cans of wine to drink when we went to the pool! When we saw our room it was so fun and funky like the inside of an RV! The bed was super comfortable and had a great nights sleep. In the morning made our pour over coffees and sat in the Adirondack chairs in front of our room and it was so peaceful. I wish I could start every morning with a dip in their warm mineral pool it was so relaxing! Also it was great that after check out we were still able to use the pool for a couple hours! I can’t wait to visit again!

If I had to pick one thing, rain shower pressure was a bit light but loved all the bath products!

We had a great stay at the motor lodge. The staff were so friendly and helpful, ready with recomendations and suggestions and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The decoration is modern and fun, and very comfortable. The lodge is a short walk from downtown Calistoga and in a very calm area so no disruption from external noises at any time. Lots of nice hikes close by and easy walk to some wineries! The restaurant is delicious and the facilities are great! Hope to enjoy more of the spa and pool next time

The air-con/heating system in the room was VERY loud and would turn on intermittently to keep the room at a constant temperature. It wasn't clear how to turn it off completely or keep it on continuously.

The restaurant is a really nice addition to this property! The bar tenders were very nice.

This property is situated so that you can eat at the restaurant or bring your own food and drinks to the outside common areas. We hosted a small baby shower and used the common areas which were wonderful. What was not wonderful were the nasty looks from the restaurant waitstaff. We were made to feel uncomfortable because we were not ordering from the restaurant during that time even though we spent considerable $ throughout the entire weekend.

Location was at the end of the "strip", therefore quiet, 15min to main part of town. Very friendly staff, clean, excellent retro vibe. Loved the pools and hot tub. Great restaurant in the complex. Overall very happy.

Towels at the pool. You bring the room ones with you....but twice people tried to walk off with our room towels because they didn't know and assumed our towels were public towels (hope that makes sense). I know not having towels at the pool cuts down on water/ energy and housekeeping. But we had to keep track of our towels instead of relaxing.

The location is fantastic - right at the end of the main drag in Calistoga, my favorite town in Napa. It’s surrounded by beautiful mountains, and walking distance from a nice hiking trail into the mountains. The pool facilities were very nice. Loved the free water bottle filler. Everyone was friendly. Room is a nice size. Great shower, comfortable beds and pillows, very quiet at night.

There was not enough bikes for us to rent one day.

Great location and the grounds in the back/poolside were well appointed. Nice room, comfortable beds and pillows. Pools and hot tub were really nice and the on-site spa was a great experience.

Rooms felt a tad dated. Not a fan of the in room coffee set up. Towels felt like they should have been replaced a few years ago. The reception staff did an OK job if I was checking in for a dental appt but less than ideal for folks on vacation.
